For awhile I was kind of perplexed by why I could find relationship after relationship back when I was in HS, in college, and then seriously underemployed for years while also being overweight... but had/have so much trouble in the past few years now that I’m in pretty good shape, independent, and have a great job. Have come to realize there are not a lot of men that are actually into women they can’t exploit. 🤷‍♀️

My current female friend group is literally all HVW and literally all of them are single. It continues to amaze me how dudes just do not give a fuck about them.

While I think this is true, not one person I know would look me dead in the eyes and sincerely tell me getting married was the best thing they ever did. Non of my girlfriends make it seem wonderful. I’m not sure I want to at this point. My life is amazing and I’m one of the happiest people I know because I am free

It takes a really strong and secure man to value a strong and independent partner.

Seriously. Think of how masculinity works even among men. There has to be the alpha and not many men are even secure to share the strong/secure role with multiple men. They have to have power and ownership because that gives them their security. I think a lot of men struggle finding their own place. And when it comes to the relationship dynamic.... they often find the way to be on top, or have control or power. And usually the only way to do that is to make their woman/partner feel less. Its easy to play mental games and damage a woman’s feeling especially when they are seeking emotional security. Women (most) aren’t looking to over power or have the upper hand. We want an equal partner that gives 100% the same.

So many men won’t live up to that standard. Men aren’t conditioned to even set that expectation for themselves. Its not a part of their male culture to help their male friends cultivate healthy relationships with women.

I do see men like this however. I know men who meet the high standards needed to be in a healthy and lasting relationship. And as much as I feel hopeless... I know about 4 close male friends who are amazing partners.

So they are rare but they EXIST!

I wouldn't say the truth hurts. It no longer hurts me. It is matter-of-fact. Women have fought for our rights to vote, to have education, to fight sexism, to fight sexual harassment, to have income equality, to have the rights to control our fertility and more. We've leveled the fuck up because you know...patriarchal oppression.

We have the outcomes of these rights being practiced and enacted by women every day. Men have to catch up.

So, for me, the truth sets me free. It no longer hurts.

Men our age (I’m 31) don’t want a woman, they want an app. They want convenience and instant gratification. They want something that is devoted to making them happy at all times. They want to remain children without returning anything to the relationship. This isn’t a new concept though. Women have been dealing with the issue for a very long time. However, we no longer depend on them for survival. We can now live independent from a man and be just fine. The only problem I see if the innate need for emotional bonding and physical satisfaction. So ladies... how do we flip this scenario? How do we force men to grow up or miss out?

Every single woman I know is wife material. And some terrible girls are in relationships. If you have a relationship is literally not dependant on how good of a person, kind, mature and educated you are. IMO attractive, educated women are often single, but in Sweden almost every girl is beautiful or very beautiful, so only the very most beautiful women have boyfriends, unless they settle for LVM

I’m constantly being told to lower my standards if i wanna find someone. “Stop expecting a man to be perfect!” I’d rather be alone than be treated like a plan B—why should i have to lower my standard to find a man but men can expect the upmost of a woman when he himself has absolutely nothing to offer?
