Bigots are bigots are bigots. Misandrists use the punching up idea to validate their bigotry, but at the end of the day, they're just as bad as other bigots.

I like to use this example: if I were to hate Asian people as a white man in the US, I would be a racist, and should have my views called out accordingly. If I move to China where I'm the minority, would I automatically not be racist?

The stupid thing about this is that her entire point hinges on the idea that she grew up in a "pretty progressive environment" and that "helped her confidence and good will towards others."

She then goes on to assert that the solution is to bypass everything she says and rather teach young girls to be misandrist, forgetting that her "environment" didn't teach her to be misandrist. She effectively equated healthy female development to misandry without any real proof misandry will create the same effect a healthy female development did for her. You don't even need proof. The two are definitely not the same.

Sorry to break it to her, but an inflated sense of self will not help her daughter healthily engage with her environment past a certain age. If anything, that is the exact way you brew a female Donald Trump or Jeffery Epstein.

Alas, it hit me that this isn't actually supposed to be a well thought of position or article as it is just a fringe opinion piece. The writer is in their second year of UCSB. Don't confuse this with actual academic writing.

The lady isn't doing her kid any favors by raising her to hate half the population, and I'd say this is absolutely not in line with true progressive values.

There are so many ways to build up someone's self-worth and confidence without programming them to be a bigot. You don't need to push someone else down to lift yourself up - That goes for everybody.

And bigotry is a shaky foundation for self-worth. She's going to struggle socially, being trained to have an adversarial relationship with 50% of people from the get-go. Best case scenario, the kiddo meets some positive male role models/peers who aren't part of the problem and realizes mom is full of shit... But that's gonna really shake her up if mom is teaching her to build her identity around it.

Most left wing folks I talk to would call this lady a fringe lunatic though. Granted that's a small sample of the population at large, but also basing this on my gauge of general public sentiment... I think most people would say the same. Extremist attitudes like this are rare, they just get amplified on the internet.

The thing about it is, if misandry is "necessary" then men deciding not to approach your daughter who grows up with that misandristic mindset would be the man's natural response to misandry just like the 45% of gen z men who don't approach a woman at all.

Leaving the misandristic women estranged from all men due to men actively avoiding her in her interpersonal life while her only choice for emotional reciprocation in romantic relationships being from other women. Which is a problem that naturally would solve itself in terms of those women that hate men, going on to date only women while those women never reproduce children which grow up that could possibly share their views, meanwhile the right which embraces heterosexual relationships will be the only ones that does reproduce, which will leave the left naturally as the minority until they make themselves extinct.

The method is one that could backfire pretty horribly: selecting only same sex providers. I suspect if the same method were applied a hell of a lot of professional women would very quickly be out of work.

In the UK at least, this is largely illegal, except for "intimate care", with caveats.

This is always such a fucking weird complex to have.

I believe in equality. I believe that everyone deserves the same rights. But if we're talking about 'superiority' then surely like, the ability to dominate others has to be accounted for? Things like body strength, etc.

Note, I don't think greater physical strength actually makes someone inherently 'superior', but I'm just saying it'd be illogical to claim superiority when the sexes are mentally equal but men are physically more able, given the huge part that physicality plays in most definitions of 'superiority' both in theory and practice.

Even within that example she gives of women doctors, dentists being important; yes I agree absolutely it is important to have women in those professions. But if you are making that a point of contention then you also have to reconcile that with the fact that 60% of doctors are men vs 40% women. I know her answer. It's going to be some abstract, elusive bogeyman of 'patriarchy' which she can't actually pin down and define, at least, not enough to explain such a huge disparity.

These people are at the end of the day just sad. I don't begrudge her that her own upbringing fucked her up, but if that leads you to being prejudiced against an entire group of people based on immutable characteristics, that's no different from a white skinhead hard on his luck choosing to hate black people just because the KKK was welcoming. It's fucking self-deluding yourself by creating a world view irreconcilable with reality.

How do you fucking claim superiority while your group has worse outcomes is outright astounding as a phenonmenon. We see this with Nazis, neo-Confederates all the time, and it's always cope about how they're so much better than the other group, but somehow, they're losing the war.

Then it becomes cope of 'actually per capita we did better' but then that begs the question of 'why the fuck did you start a fight you were going to lose then'. It's all one giant cope to deal with their own internal inconsistency and incompetency.

HerCampus and TikTok are both two of the worst publications for humanity and intelligence. I once had a major college conflict with a woman who wrote for HerCampus; she falsely reported me for harassment but her claims were so baseless that even the feminist-led college heard me out and believed me.

That article is atrocious. Misandry is hate and prejudice, it's not justified or "necessary" in this world. You can still hold men accountable without being a misandrist. You can have a preference for female medical personnel without being a misandrist.

Now that TikTok was even worse in every way. Glorifying the indoctrination of a child against half the world and her dad is not something we should be proud of. I feel for the girl who not only has a mom like that but will live with divided parents.
