Suddenly women (in some areas) have the exact same post-conception reproductive rights as men. Suddenly, those women feel oppressed.

You’re referring to a marketing problem or an optics problem. Overturning Roe improved equality between men and women, but it really pissed some women off who were going to blame men for everything anyway. Let’s not forget that half the people who are pro-life are women. So I wouldn’t expect an MRA to favor looking good to women who hate them over improving equality.

Legal experts have long said Roe V Wade would be overturned at some point. The arguments made for it were incredibly dubious and not constitutionally very sound.

Personally, I don't think overturning Roe vs Wade has anything to do with Men's Rights. Men's Rights is not explicitly conservative or progressive. The overturning of Roe vs Wade, as far as I'm aware, was led by the conservative political movement. To try to pin this on men or the Men's Rights community is exactly what the feminists movement would prefer. Whether you agree or disagree with the decision is not a result of the Men's Rights movement. Disclaimer: I'm not from the US so apologies if any of my assumptions are incorrect.

I don't agree with that analysis in the slightest. First off, the overturning of RvW was basicly set in motion when Trump was elected president, since it was clear that Republicans would gain the majority on the Supreme Court.

Secondly, the Democrats have just started to wake up to men's issues. With Richard Reeves book being the major turning point. Whether they'll get it remotely right or not remains to be seen, but it's the most promising development I've seen for a long time.

The biggest thing that upset feminists over Roe v Wade, is the lack of social response, because people had bigger issues to contend with.

It's not as if they were met with rallying opposition and public clashes, they were met with deserted streets.

It's been a huge setback for them because it's now come to ahead that because they are always making noise and just trying to take from society, everyone is desensitised to it and don't see any value in supporting them.

The biggest thing that will be remembered is things like the attempt on a marriage sex ban, and efforts to basically control and manipulate people, along with the blatant misandry we are all used to.

My largest concern about Roe versus Wade is the future problems it will bring.

Now practically ANY SC case can be reversed at any time. New Democrat majority? Overturn all the things they don't agree with. New Republican majority? Overturn all the things they don't agree with. This should give serious concern to everyone because the supreme laws of the land can just do a 180.

It's not like congress are going to be able to do much about it. They can't even pass good healthcare without having to take significant comprises. No way they're ever going to agree to more amendments.

As far as abortion goes, I feel it's all more equal now. No one gets a choice as opposed to one person gets a choice. What was it I heard before? "Check your privilege" I believe was it.

You generally shouldn't hold back what is good and right because it's perceived poorly by certain people.

I don't really necessarily agree with the premise either, when people think you can throw away your baby it reinforces the idea that you can throw away men. The more each life is valued the better it is for men's rights.

Roe v. Wade being overturned is nothing to do with Men's Rights. It is the Supreme Court recognizing an overreach in power by the federal government and returning that power to the states. That is all.

NO this is incorrect. The number one thing underpinning female hypergamous behavior was Roe v Wade. The strongest organizational vector in politics on either side the last 50 years or so has been Roe v Wade, its the center node of all this crazy female energy that circulates in our society. Take that away, and that energy disperses over time, and maybe even reverts in a decade in the opposite direction towards family formation as the ideal for women.

I have been trying to frame my thinking of this in the positive. In a way, this has opened a door ( a very very small door) to make a push for an enumerated right of bodily autonomy.

Recognition of a person's inaliable right of bodily autonomy would immediately ban the draft, outlaw prison labor, make infant circumcision illegal, and yes, permit abortion.

I think if a push was made. It would have pretty healthy bi partisan support, right up until someone let's it slips to the feminist machine that men would make gains from it as well, then they'd fight it tooth and nail.

So it's a pipe dream, but I'd like to wonder what it would be like to live in a world where people considered basic freedoms of thier fellow humans as a whole, and not just the ones that check certain boxes.

I think it's fine for mens rights. Federal legislation allowing abortion would've never been tried unless it got overturned. Now we have the opportunity to get something on the books protecting men.

If the "Reproductive Freedom For All Act" gets passed without protecting men then yeah we'll be well and truly fucked. The entire conversation around abortion will die if women get theirs and we don't get ours. We're doomed to ride the coattails of their privilege.

Overturning Roe v Wade was a massive attack on women's reproductive rights/health and a massive attack on the men's rights movement/awareness and a massive mistake for the USA. If you think unwanted/neglected children and child support/family court for men was bad before, it is only going to get worse. Also, expect false rape accusations to increase even more in red states where rape is one of the exceptions for abortion.

How could it happen? The political powers that have been inching toward it for decades finally got the right pieces in the right places. And, they don’t care about public health or bodily autonomy for either women or men. It’s not about rights, it’s about power and how some people think things “should” be for everyone else. “Shoulds” are just as dangerous for men as for women.

This happened because it was enough time to decide if abortion was unconstitutional. Sadly, it is decided now, after decades, that it is. But all isn't lost, abortion rights falls on the state not the government anymore. The country is more divided on the topic and it will clearly show now that every state is left up to its own decision on the topic. The government is not to blame for this. This was bound to happen. The judicial system follows and determines everything with the philosophy of law not feeling.

The only positive here is the opportunity to fight for a gender neutral abortion law that would give men access to paper abortions as well. In the age of trans rights any law should be gender neutral anyways.

As women fight for their rights back we should join them and be vocal about keeping it gender neutral. It may be our best path to gaining some ground there.
