I've seen a lot of men talk about how women always like to date up and they never settle for men lesser than them or even equal to them. While it holds a certain degree of truth in it, it's not the norm.

I say it's not the norm because a lot of guys feel women can easily get some dude half way across the world or in another city to fly them out and party on his yatch, even though it's not common.

I think this misconception about hypergamy just shows that a lot of men today tend to be jaded just the same way a lot of women are.

I will would also add that while some women have unrealistic demands when it comes to a potential partner (height, status and networth), when it comes down to it they always settle for things outside these expectations and it's also the same for men who sometimes have unrealistic expectations when it comes to a potential partner (beauty, body, charisma, chaste, freaky).

Millions of women date guys and love guys below 6 ft and with a poor financial status even if when asked who their dream man is it tends to be someone tall, wealthy and such. Same with the guys whose dream girl is someone with the face and beauty of a goddess, chaste but sex freak for them.

Bottom line in my opinion both genders tend to be delulu when it comes to their ideal person.
