For me, looks and personality matter equally. If I see a woman whose looks I don’t like, I probably won’t want to get to know her or her personality. Even if I already know her and she has a good personality, I probably wouldn’t want to be her boyfriend if I don’t find her attractive. On the other hand, if I like her looks and she’s a 10/10 but has a terrible personality, I wouldn’t be able to tolerate her for long.

Women have almost identical preferences:

tall

big dick

big hands

broad shoulders

classically handsome, or maybe cute if the woman is young

Men have a lot more variety in what they're into. I think women are just more similar in almost every way. Even here, they rarely argue with each other.

Height is single handedly the biggest determinative of men’s success in today’s dating landscape.

You can see how even overweight men can find partners just because they are tall.

Then comes face, if you have full hair, a good structure of facial features you will be fine even if you are short. Still it doesn’t come near the height.

The attractive male stereotype has been indoctrinated as Eurocentric considering average height is higher in countries with majority of white men.

It is assumed that heightism is biologically encoded in women. However I don’t remember it being the most important thing 10+ years ago.

What I am curious about is, were our grandmothers while not being vocal about it truly as obsessed as modern women? Or was it something more recent that came up with TV and then went rampart with social media?

Or is it feminism bringing more freedom for women and that freedom gave women an ease to express themselves about what they like in a man freely and fearlessly?

What do you think would happen if men had the same looks standards as women? Here's what I think would happen:

The vast majority of people would have zero sex because they would find themselves mutually disgusting
Genuine lust would only be felt between the most attractive men and women
Make up and other artificial enhancements/concealments would not work anymore, because men mostly look for natural/genetic attractiveness now
Massive economic decline because men's drive to improve their status through work would dwindle

So I saw a post on Facebook about a guy from my country saying he found out his fiancé has done a gastric sleeve surgery and a boob job and he just found out about it, she didn’t tell him before and he’s asking for advice because he’s not sure to trust her and what not.

Now granted this will vary from culture to culture since Arabic men will be more angry about such things but I feel like it opened a very interesting discussion in the comments because a lot of men seem to be mad that she changed her looks (even tho to the better)

Do men want a woman already perfect? I’ve known a lot of men who also did a gastric sleeve surgery and I don’t think I’ve ever seen it as a negative to women, I mean I bet some will be opposed to it but like it sound like more men don’t like it when women change their looks with surgery, while women don’t care.

If men were told to never lower their standards (as women are) rather than to critically examine their beauty standards, I genuinely believe that men would make D cup or bigger the opposite sex equivalent of 6ft or taller.

When I was in middle school, I remember wanting a woman with D boobs and feeling that I would be settling if I some day married a woman with smaller ones. I think this was a pretty common sentiment among my male classmates.

Thankfully, as much as I resented the messaging at the time to critically examine my beauty standards and make sure they were realistic, I am glad I got it, since it forced me to grow out of such immature standards and not close myself off to wonderful, perfectly sexually compatible women.

Frankly, I feel sorry for women and teenaged girls these days who are getting the opposite messaging, i.e., to cling to their most primitive, superficial standards. So many are going to get pumped and dumped, all because society is too stupid and unfair to follow the simple principle of "what's good for the goose is good for the gander."

What is it that degrades a woman's looks so much from 20 to 30? They don't bald like men, it's not the hair. But something just visibly is off once women approach that age and I'm trying to pinpoint it. Is it skin issues or visceral fat?

Can it be staved off / fixed (I know Ozempic has been proven to lower visceral fat)

I've always wondered, how much overlap is there between what gay guys and straight gals find attractive?

I went to college next to a gayborhood, so I often got told I was cute by gay guys passing by in the area. I found it flattering, despite not wanting guys. However, I also always secretly hoped that it meant that women liked me too, but were just too stuck in their female socialization to say what they thought unlike men who also liked men.

Personality is included in looks.

Personality is what keeps looks alive as one ages and changes.

Men obsessed with looks are failing for the bait. And losing in the process.

Notice how the looks obsessed men are single and struggling. Because they ignore their terrible personalities and focus on the muscles or hairline or some dumb shit.

Relationships are built and maintained of personalities, not just looks.

Casual sex is also done based on personalities, not just looks.
