It seems that the fundamental argument women are having as to why 80% of men are struggling in dating isn’t that they aren’t 6’0” or make under $100k. It’s that they emotionally stunted. I think the answer is probably in the middle but let’s go with it.

How exactly are men expected to develop emotionally? Say what you will about gender roles, but it has given women “social infrastructure” to develop emotionally whereas men were given more the tools for political and economic advancement. This includes a lot of things from it being socially acceptable to cry for women and not men, to even media coverage of celebrity relationships where women can talk to one another about relationship dynamics in ways that simply are not targeted to men. Sure, you could place the onus solely on the individual man, but that clearly hasn’t worked on any real scale. I’d argue maybe the church had a sort of socializing effect in the past, but there’s a whole other slew of reasons that people have left it (myself included).

Should there be some resource or even social norm that should be for the use/benefit of men not for material advancement but rather emotional development? If there a large segment of asocial men that don’t know how to interact with the other sex, shouldn’t there be specific resources/norms that society takes to reintegrate them back into society? What would that look like if we tried to do that?
