Cheating out of lust with a random dude from Tinder is another way of saying she simply wasn’t satisfied in our relationship to the point she felt the need to look for strangers online and sleep with one of them instead of simply trying to fix the relationship or leaving it.

Cheating for money is different, it also depends on how much money, dating a millionaire could mean you’ll never have to work another day in your life.

Either way it’s the end of the relationship, but I’d feel less mad if it was for money.

cheating implies dishonesty. if she asked me beforehand, and for whatever reason, i agreed, i don’t think that’s cheating. if she knew i didn’t want her to have sex with anyone else, but did it anyway, that’s really the main problem.

i’d personally rather it be for money, but i don’t think either would be forgivable.

Lust implies there is something about him that’s better than me. Money could potentially mean the sex was meaningless and not enjoyable. So cheating for money would probably hurt me less. But either way the relationship would be over.

Both options are horrible but it is an interesting scenario.

The latter. First because o value list more than money. Second because that means my soon to be ex has a way to get money without my aid so I don't need to worry about her future after the relationship is over.

Say your gf got offered a few hundred for sex by a guy and she took the deal.

Too cheap. I would believe that she did it out of lust. She could have got more from me just by asking.

Money, definitely. My ex-wife cheated on me many times for thousands of dollars until she got pregnant. So I guess there is a downside. I'd rather not be cheated on at all, but if you must, get something out of it.

If not that, the difference between money and lust motivation would be irrelevant. All that matters to me is - love, earnestness, good intent towards me, and empathy.

I cheated on my love, therefore I understand some of the motivation to cheat - how the cycle of lies begins, what it’s like to have to painfully deal with trauma and lies and the hiding of traumas I had already begun as a child, and the ameliorative compulsion element of the cheating. It became both a sunken cost fallacy - I’ve already lied to her, and I’m too weak to tell her the truth and it is inconceivable to me because it pushes me into panic TERROR mode to even conceive; therefore I can’t tell her. PLUS, the act of cheating is ameliorative to my pain of knowing what I’ve done is wrong and that there is no way out.

My Love has also lied to me before. She hasn’t cheated, most likely, but she did explicitly tell me before that she had never kissed, called someone else who is an eligible bachelor interest babe/love, sent heart emojis and other cute stuff in a courtship context that isn’t clearly just a humorous sarcastic context.

I don’t hold it against her that she lied to me about this. For I understand, myself, what kinds of trials she was undergoing. I had gone into dating, and necessarily into my relationship with my Love, bearing a painful hair suit of barbed wire that every tenet of life I had once held dear - being able to believe in others, faith in God, people telling the truth about their vices, not putting on facades to specifically gain power over someone else, being told that people will accept me one day, that I’m handsome - were all lies.

I believed the notion that I was worthless. That was my precedent going into the relationship, and the extremely feeble and replete-of-disrespect results I had gotten on OLD proved that to me. I had no value in myself, no friends, was full of resentment for myself and society, and I was even afraid to tell my parents that I had lost my faith in god, because I feared it would either wound them too much or make them hate me, or both.

I absolutely never said anything about love to any of my mistresses, but unlike my Love, I actually cheated. Most of the ppl I banged don’t even know my real name, interests, or job. Most only know my fake name, sad affect, OLD profile, what I did with them, and what I look like.

both will end in a breakup, but cheating for money will probably hurt less since she was just in it for the money. It would prob still end in severe trust issues, the bridge with her being burned entirely, but at least i get to walk out knowing that her cheating and why she cheated robbed her of her dignity far more than it would mine

I would be mad, just not as much as tinder hook up. Money is a necessity and I understand everyone has a price. It is just how it is... but lack of loyalty for simple lack of self control? it is unreasonable.

Male instinct makes it so we don't like it when a dick is involved. I don't make the rules, it just is how it is.

It is how a woman who only had sex with 200 women is still high valuable (maybe not as much as a virgin but anyway), but a woman who had sex with 200 men is considered very low value.

I don't make these rules. I don't like it either. It is just how my body works.
