Had the "worst" experience with rejection ever three weeks ago:
Early on at the club, dancefloor empty, two hot blondes standing by the edge.
Im feeling out of it as fuck but decide I have to do it anyways.
Walk over the dancefloor to the girls.
Say hi, whats up.
My voice cracks, sound like a castrated pigeon.
They straight out ignore me, don´t even give me a glance.
I turn around and fall over a chair. SMACK.
Straight onto the floor.
Entire fucking club was watching, LOL. People pointing.
And my wing just started laughing like crazy.
It was like a fucking movie experience, this shit doesn´t happen in real life does it.
So all I could do was join him, we both started laughing our asses off.
All my ego dropped in a instant. "I fucking did it" frame.
Had a insane night after that filled with confidence.
Getting hard rejected is the best thing that can happen to you!

Damn that's even worse than my story, lol.
That last sentence is so true though, once you get rejected and realize it doesn't mean anything nothing else can stop you.

I'd say yours is worse cause they were so mean. It's easy to laugh at your own fuck up.

I can understand why a guy would be an asshole when rejected....if he got rejected like this. I don't you were an asshole OP, but I think the stereotype "guys can't handle rejection" can be bullshit. Some people aren't good at rejecting in a smooth polite way.

Loved this story. Straight out from a movie! You had big balls to go ahead and face your fears like that, keep pushing on buddy ;)
10/10 would take you into my night game squad
[–]Wet_Walrus 3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I think I got one that can top that.
Saw a 10 sitting with her friends at a semi-circular booth/table in a Hollywood club. They were all sitting on the backrest portion of the booth so they were up higher, and their feet were on where you would normally sit in a booth. I thought it would be smooth if I hopped up onto the booth, posted up next to her and sparked up a conversation. Well, I learned the hard way that the jeans I bought earlier that day had almost zero stretch/mobility. In my attempt to hop up onto the booth, my jeans restricted my leg movement and my toe caught the edge of the booth. I flew forward, face planted onto the booth-bench and got a mouthful of vinyl upholstery. As I peeled my face off the seat one of her friends said "That was smooth". I put my tail between my legs, said "whoops, sorry about that" and walked away. Still stings to this day.

From a woman.... take note of how you react to rejection. If they are looking at her being humiliating and mean, they are also looking at you playing it cool, polite, and not giving a fuck. And that reaction from a man is sexy as hell.
[–]Professional-Dragon 36 points37 points38 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
take note of how you react to rejection
Also, rejection WILL 100% happen sometimes if you try to date (it happens it you are a male, female, old, young, beautiful, ugly, rich, poor, funny, boring, whatever), we should just accept it. ☺
However the more you try something, generally the more successful you will become. And probably you will find what you are searching for.
[–]spankthegoodgirl 3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Very true. Happens to all of us.
[–]Principatus 32 points33 points34 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
A guy with an active sex life will not give nearly as much of a shit. Women like men that other women like, i.e. Sexually active men.
For example, let's say you have several fwb you can text and suggest to come over in the evening with a bottle wine, any time. If a new chick rejects you, you don't give a shit at all. It's that bitch who missed out, not you.
Knowing you can easily get laid stops you from giving a shit. Girls know this. So if you genuinely don't give a shit, the implication is that you must be sexually active, which is attractive.
So if you're not sexually active but you can genuinely from the core of your being not give a shit, you still give the impression that you are a man who is sexually active and therefore of sexual value. I think that's the science behind why it's attractive.
[–]WakeoftheStorm 4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Now this is just my thoughts, but I think a large part of it is actually about her perceived value. If you have options, and you are talking to her, then you are signaling that she has potential value above what you already have available.
If you have no options and you are pursuing her, it makes her feel like a last resort.
So it's less about your sexual activity/desirability, and more about your motivations for approaching her.
[–]imtheoneimmortal 7 points8 points9 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I’m not super sexually active but I don’t give a shit if she rejects me If she’s fun ok but if she’s bitch bye

[–]Wet_Walrus 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

“How you react to rejection” i.e. how you pass the shit test...
[–]spankthegoodgirl 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Not really a shit test. Was just thinking in terms of him being embarrassed because of other people watching. You never know. Someone may see you keep your cool and decide "I want to get to know that person. " I would.
I just think it's a better way of looking at a positive in this situation rather than feeling shame over it. That girl that rejected him can fly off a cliff for all I care. My comment had nothing to do with her.

[–]CloudzTheCook 31 points32 points33 points 7 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Rejection doesnt matter, the more you'll learn to open up interactions the more you'll come across as confident and get rejected less and less.
Side note: your friend got rejected because his opener wasn't conveying enough confidence. Why would he introduce you first before himself? You'd have to be already a good gamer to introduce that way. Always start by yourself, show you're confident and cool, then bring your friends in
[–]Schmonkenstein 14 points15 points16 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Exactly, that's very true.
That friend that introduced me actually has a gf, his plan was to introduce me to the girl to spark up a conversation and then leave us alone, but it didn't quite work out that way lol. Thanks for the tip though.

I was out with my friend day gaming just for.fun when we approached a set of three. The better ones were more receptive and smiling but we got rejected bu the ugly one. She literally was like 3. She basically told us to fuck off. But j knew that the the rejection had nothing to do with us and we got a cool story about how we got rejected by the ugliest one in the group.

[–]chipdelux 3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
This was your mistake. The ugly one is USED TO getting ignored, it's nothing new to her, BUT she ABHORS seeing her friends getting approached over and over and over, while she feels more and more invisible each time. If the ugly one isn't getting any attention, she'll make sure nobody else gets any either. Key is to approach the "ugly one" and barely give attention to the "pretty ones" Flip the script and make the invisible one the center of attention, and the pretty ones will try to re-establish "homeostasis" by trying to get your attention back on them "as it should be" Remember though, SOMEBODY has to jump on the grenade so that the rest may live

Some men prefer only to approach women when there are some indicators of interest first (eye contact, maybe a smile). Cold approaching is like playing the lottery, you can have success or get shot down brutally
I've been out with a beautiful friend earlier. She was constantly hit on and the approaching guys usually ignored us, her friends. Bad move, no one will like you, you'll be seen as the invader of the group, yet another horny guy who approaches the pretty girl. You as an individual don't do anything wrong, but you're not seen as an individual, but the 10th guy annoying this evening.
And the other way isn't so much better: A friend of mine still hangs out with the girl and says that he is extremely annoyed to always having to deal with her satellites (he's not interested in her for sure); some of them try to use him as a "friend" to get into contact with her, what's fake as hell

Bit of a confession from me but a while back during the day, I approached a woman on the street, told her how she looks beautiful, then replied that she had a boyfriend, as I was going to walk away she told me that she was approached by guys in a similar manner before and that what we were doing doesn't work. I felt like a creep. Ever since then my approach anxiety has escalated as I always think about what she said to me that day...
[–]DeathRebirth 5 points6 points7 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Way to ruin your progress by fixating on what one girl once told you, who doesn't care for being approached. Not every girl is the same, and all of this regardless of success rate is about connecting with your potential audience. That audience will never ever be 100% of who you meet.
Let it go or you are your own problem.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
She’s wrong. Cold approach works, guys get laid and even married off it. It’s merely a way of meeting women. What she really should have said was:
“cold approach works IF I am attracted to the guy, all the guys that approached me including you though I didn’t find attractive. Keep going though coz some other girl will find you attractive.”
[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Side note: some guys are so scared of rejection that they reject themselves based on neutral responses. Don’t be that guy.

[–]Temp16789 8 points9 points10 points 7 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link
I mean, as a woman? We get approached constantly for things we don’t want. It’s not really a personal thing when we’re rude/tell you to fuck off. I can’t even count the number of guys I’ve politely said no to multiple times that just don’t get the hint and progressively get more and more bold. Sometimes it’s easier just to be a bitch right off the bat.
[–][deleted] 13 points14 points15 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I don't think thats acceptable behaviour. Everyone is an individual. I don't blame someone for telling someone to fuck off if they don't get the hint, but to do it off the bat say it is a poor effort.
[–]Temp16789 6 points7 points8 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
In this sub alone there are hundreds of tips trying to convince women to be interested after they’ve rejected you. I’m not saying that being mean is acceptable, but when you’re treated as a game (as a woman) it gets easier just to shut people down.
I’m not shitting on what you guys do here, but it’s not like women are totally innocent participants. We kind of assume we’re being manipulated for some specific motive—usually something sexual. That tends to be a massive turn off, especially when out with friends. Which is why I said it’s not a personal thing, it’s more so just a result of our experience
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I understand your perspective. All I can do is talk as an individual. When I talk to women, I'm not treating it as a game. I don't like playing games or people. What I was trying to get at is that I like to treat everyone with respect unless that respect hasn't been shown to me. I don't assume someone is trying to be an asshole to me beforehand, if that makes sense.
I also understand our experiences would be different, but I also believe that kindness should be a first resort when interacting with people. My first response isn't normally to tell someone to fuck off, if they're persistent then hell yeah, tell them to fuck off. Thats my take anyway.
[–]ImJustSo 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Well, I support your point of view. Also, her point of view creates an instant snap judgement for me. I have no trust for a person that would choose to instantly send a fuck off to some people. I'm sure she doesn't do it to all people. So to the people she doesn't tell to fuck off, she's hiding who she really is. She's hiding a person that tells strangers to instantly fuck off.
I can respect an instant fuck off directed at me. I will never see that person again, there's nothing to trust. I have no trust for that person, nor will I ever.
If a woman I'm "seeing" turned around and instantly told a seemingly neutral person to fuck off.....Uh, red flags? Trust gone. Lol

It hurts my ego but thanks for the honesty. Its nice to see things from a different perspective.
[–]Temp16789 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Oh I know it does. I try to be kind when rejecting someone myself, but not all people are like that.
[–]greenlittleman 3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Showing what you are sexually interested in someone, trying to know them better, complimenting them - it isn't disrespectful behaviour. Telling people to fuck off, being rude or cold, ignoring people - it is disrespectful behaviour. Treating people who like you and attracted to you as if they are shit not worthy of any respect? If we reverse roles then you will say what a guy who tell "fuck off" to a girl who likes him is terrible asshole, but it is considered as acceptable when it is woman who rejects. Even more funny thing - by default men are stronger both physically and mentally, but if you start to "fight back" against disrespect shown to you in process of rejection then no one will take your side, on contrary they will blame you. This is the reason why most guys give up very soon with approaching strangers.
[–][deleted] 7 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
That is the exact point I was trying to make. Thank you, you put it into words better than I was able to.
I’m not condoning people being assholes, it just gets tiresome being approached like a sexual conquest 24/7 and with little to no reprieve. It’s an explanation, not an excuse.
[–]greenlittleman 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
WTF are you talking about? Most men wouldn't talk to a woman after they directly told what she don't want to speak with anyone and not interested in them.
Also you are talking about all of this as "terrible experience". Talking to member of opposite sex who is interested in you isn't terrible experience even if you yourself isn't interested in them. Being rejected by someone you like (and treated without any respect given) - that is terrible experience indeed. The wording you use is as if she is being approached by a beggar, not a person who is equal (or higher) to her in social standing. You wouldn't treat someone you consider as your equal this way, this is why guys take this personally.
Also this exaggeration is so funny. "Countless times". Most men NEVER do any cold approach unless they are both drunk and in very comfortable circumstances - in clubs, bars, places which are visited by people who go there to SOCIALIZE and have fun, including socialisation with strangers. If woman don't go to any parties then she almost never approached by guys in real life. So called daygame cold approach is extremely rare occasion even in very populated areas and most "complains" girls have are about nightame, which is funny because the clubs and bars are supposed to be places certainly for this. Same goes for online apps like Tinder - places where women act arrogant and don't even hide it. Some even tell you what they are "bothered by guys on Tinder" which is absurd in itself.
Also I know why really they act like this. Because it is very satisfying for ego to feel yourself superior to others. It isn't different from bullying, just here it is weak (a woman) gain right to feel herself superior to strong (man) - this is just addicting. Most guys have such social rules engraved in them like "not bully the weak", but women love this power they gain when men give them a chance to do with them whatever they want. This is why being needy is the most unattractive trait - woman start to feel power and feel herself superior to you, in this way she isn't interested in any romance and instead use this chance to feel her superiority. There is no other reason to be rude to someone other than to demonstrate your subjectively higher status (the fact what they can't fight back against you treating them as inferiors) - it is like this among other apes, not only humans.
[–]ImJustSo 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
We have seen how other women interact with others. Other women that act differently than you and do not tell people to fuck off from the get go. Sure, they can get their ire raised, but they begin with kindness (excluding dangerous cases like dark alleys, etc).
So it is personal to you. It says a lot about you that you pick and choose who to begin with your kindness or your ego blows. It's also personal to each man you've chosen to lead with kindness and which you've chosen to lead with hostility.
Because I betcha that you were wrong about some men from both of the sets that you chose. You lead with kindness to men that were undeserving and you lead with hostility to men that were undeserving.
You still choose to lead with hostility sometimes.

Perhaps don't speak as if it's condoning their behavior then? I sure don't. Toxicity from anyone is just...garbage. Worthless. None of us should tolerate it or choose to accept it; give it excuses to exist.
Your comment and responses to it make you seem rather cynical about how "women" that aren't you specifically treat men. As if the ego bash is deserved simply because a man felt attracted and acted on it by saying hello.
A man's ego could deserve a bashing, depending on how aggressive or harmful his approach was, but a hello or introduction met with shit behavior? Ridiculous.
[–]Temp16789 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
In a separate comment I said it was an explanation, not an excuse.
Men don’t typically just say hello lol, think about the woman’s perspective here. This sub is full of men trying to manipulate women into bed with them...think about how the subject (a woman) feels when all she is is a sexual conquest.
I’m not condoning shitty behavior, but it’s not fun just being a piece of meat to be manipulated into bed. You forget that WE have feelings too.
Most men don’t say hello, and when they do don’t read apprehensive body language/tone. In my experience many men get pushy/forceful. I go out with mostly guy friends because they literally have to protect me from gross dudes that grab my ass and don’t take no for an answer.
Again, I think everyone should be nice, but you’re acting like it’s only perfect gentlemen that approach us, and that it’s only one dude a night that approaches us.
No, that isn't how I'm acting. And none of your assumptions about me relate to me. I am aware of the plight of women and have sympathy for their position. We are here on seduction though to be better men and I personally would prefer men to learn how to seduce women in healthy, benevolent ways. I don't want men acting like shit, nor women. I already said that to you once, so I'm not sure where you perceived the other things.
[–]the_cucumber 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
Yep, the quick "No" and turn away response to whatever someone asked me is my classic rejection move in bar settings. Sometimes "no thank you" but with the same bitchy body language. I didn't go there to meet you, dude. I went to have a good time with my friends. Sorry you thought I was there for your entertainment. It's 90s night. Go away.
But I calibrate according to the situation. If it's highly impersonal like in any crowd, especially with alcohol, I will reject you as impersonally as you approached me.
If it's a colleague or acquaintance or neighbour, etc, well, I'll be far more delicate.
Grey area are daytime cold approaches. If I'm walking down the street I probably won't stop to acknowledge, unless I'm in a good mood I might smile at the ground or say thanks. If I'm physically blocked from walking I will scream. If I'm approached where I can't escape (train, supermarket) I'll either engage and be nice and consider the option, or politely say thanks and pointedly wait on the other side of the setting until he's gone or I can leave. Either outcome depends solely on my mood and not really on the actual guy. I will reject Brad Pitt if I wasn't in the mood to be bothered.
This was longer than I intended but feels good to rant a bit. Sucks to feel like a piece of meat. You always just think, how many other girls did he do this to before me today? Hence why you shouldn't get too offended by my reaction.
Edit: here come the downvotes

I don't like to be approached by strange men. Usually the people I date are people I meet organically somehow through mutual friends or circumstances (work, flat-seeking, conference/events)
[–]K3wp 7 points8 points9 points 7 years ago (26 children) | Copy Link
Guys, don't cold approach. Especially in clubs when the girls are sitting down or otherwise engaged. You are going to get hard bounced, guaranteed.
Be warm and approachable. Look for IoIs and then make your move.
[–]Schmonkenstein 5 points6 points7 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
What are IoIs?
[–]Faded117 12 points13 points14 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
He means Indicators of interest (ioi). Basically just scope out the girls who are checking you out. If you happen to lock eyes with a girl while scanning a room and she smiles at you and looks away, you are definitely good to approach.
[–]the_cucumber 4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I would clarify if she does that twice then you are good to go. The first time might just be an awkward response when accidentally catching eye contact. Do it a second time to confirm.

Did you even read the op? He literally said that the hard rejection actually boosted his confidence for the rest of the night because it helped him to not give a fuck, and then he went on to have a great night.
Given that, how does your advice make any sense? Would he have been better off not approaching them and just waiting around for girls to show interest in him? No, he would not have been better off.
[–]K3wp 3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link
How about you try starting the set with confidence so you don't need to bother the poor girls in the first place? It's just rude.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure what you're suggesting. Try starting the set with confidence? What do you mean be that? I'm taking it as a given that the person approaching should do so with as much confidence, authenticity, and social calibration as they can muster. Why would they do anything less?
For men who aren't yet very successful with women, clumsy approaches will happen. It's unfortunate, but in my opinion it is the lesser of two evils. They can either talk to other human beings and learn and improve their social skills, and occasionally have a clumsy interaction, or they can isolate themselves, not bother anyone, but remain painfully alone and bitter.
[–]K3wp 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link
If you are confident you are going to be outcome independent and not cold approaching a bunch of poor girls that are simply trying to have a girls night out. Leave them alone.
I see girls like this every time I go out, I always respect their space. If they want to engage I can tell and I know if I went and got in their space I would get a hard bounce. You shouldn't approach unless you have some sort of 'in'.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
What if you aren't 100% certain whether the girls want to engage with you? What if you aren't 100% certain whether or not they are giving you an 'in'? What if you didn't know that if you went and got in their space you would get hard bounced? This is the sort of grey area that I'm talking about.
I'm not saying you should go talk to (bother) girls who you know for a fact don't want to be talked to, and who you know for a fact will give you a hard rejection on the spot. Like you are saying, it's rude.
It sounds like you already know what you are doing. I'm sure what you do works really well for you, but can't you see how your advice might potentially be problematic for a person who is less socially experienced? What if someone simply doesn't notice any ioi's when they go out?
If you are having zero success with the opposite sex, the solution is to put yourself out there to learn what works and what doesn't. Throughout this process, it is more than likely that you will make mistakes from time to time that will result in hard rejections. The solution is not to sit around waiting for ioi's that either don't come or that you don't notice due to your inexperience.
[–]K3wp 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
What if someone simply doesn't notice any ioi's when they go out?
Then they should either have a good time by themselves, with their friends or go home. Happens to me all the time and it's fine.
This is why you do a warm approach. Make eye contact and smile. If they respond in kind, approach. It's that simple.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
Ok I think we've reached the heart of our disagreement. I think your philosophy that a guy can't interact with a woman unless she smiles and makes eye contact with him first is incredibly naive. Is this specific to opposite sex interaction by the way or should a man wait for a smile and eye contact to talk to another guy as well?
I've had a long term relationship which was very meaningful to me which was the result of an approach I did where I didn't wait for a smile and eye contact. So that might be one reason why I find your philosophy so absurd.
Make eye contact and smile. If they respond in kind, approach. It's that simple.
To think that human social interaction is actually that simple is just so incredibly naive, I'm astounded that an adult can hold this belief.

The title of this thread is "Got rejected brutally"
If that happens you are doing something wrong. Full stop.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
This is an incredibly ignorant assumption. If you believe this then you believe that not a single girl anywhere ever could overreact and be rude to someone who didn't deserve it.
Edit: And like I said before, anyone who is putting themselves out there socially is bound to make a mistake or "do something wrong" from time to time. You learn from it, and you move on.
You seem to place "don't risk bothering anyone ever" as your absolute value above all others. In my opinion there is just so much wrong with this if you give a damn about yourself.

K3wp,
You say guys must have confidence from the get go ... when they don’t. Guys build confidence by taking action while nervous, making mistakes and learning from those mistakes. They need to fuck up it’s a necessary step.
And you say when a woman reacts badly it’s the guys fault for ”bothering” them. Women can react badly for all sorts of reasons, they are emotional creatures and they might just be having a bad day and blaming whoever is in front of them. That doesn’t mean it’s the guys fault for saying “hi” and receiving a brutal rejection or harsh reaction.
You lack knowledge, a certain amount of empathy, and you’re unintentionally putting guys confidence down to approach women. I feel sorry for you in that I imagine you must do that same kind of “bullying” to yourself as well I imagine it must be tough for you to take any action in life and make mistakes. Hope you get some help and I recommend you don’t push your comments into others on here until you get some help.
[–]ModernWolfStrategies 3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yea, you’ve got to laugh it off. The only other option is to get frustrated which just makes you look like more of an asshole. I’d really want to put it out there for new guys that this type of rejection is more likely to happen the later at night it is (people have been drinking longer and are more confrontational), the younger the crowd that are there (21-23), and the clubbier the club.
[–]bluefingerblue 3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
For future reference I think the worst opener ever is “hey this is my friend blah blah”.
It makes you both look retarded. Like why couldn’t you introduce yourself? And why is this clown introducing you and not himself? What’s wrong with him?
Tell your boy to permanently drop that line from his repertoire.
[–]Schmonkenstein 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yeah thanks, I don't like that line either, especially because that girl wasn't even really my type, but he just did it spontaneously and then I couldn't really back out without looking stupid, lol.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
We're you getting IOIs? If these girls didn't look at you then don't give them the time of day. That's why you got rejected. If you had rejection in your head chances are you are gonna get rejected. Don't take it personally. You didn't receive any signals from them telling you it's cool to approach. I wait for eye-contact and usually after that I'll approach. I do day game and social circle game. This is one of the biggest signs that a girl is into you. You'll never get rejected again after you learn to read IOIs. Indicators of Interest. You probably missed tons of them while you were there. If the girl really wants dick, watch out for lip biting. I got this a couple times. It's hot when a girl does this. I had waitresses do it that were 10s.
When you walk up to a two set. Go with energy and Say are you both having a good time tonight? Talk to lots of people don't just focus on the girls. Build rapport around the club. You always want to give eye contact because you are coming across as authentic. Make sure you smile and have a good vocal tonality as well.
[–]DajuanKev 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Brutal rejections WILL happen, its a fact. Just remember that there are women that will blow you away with reception.
Its all good.
[–]Kenic_In_MD 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Thats not bad at all OP. One time I literally got laughed at, and another time the girl I was gaming went back to her friends, told them what I was doing, all had a laugh together and then came back to me to joke about it.....
Those shutdowns were easy man lol, you'll get used to rejections. Think about it this way, they aren't rejecting "you" personally. Maybe they didn't like what was on the menu you presented.
[–]Galahead 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Jesus what a cunt, your story sounds super harsh lol, kind of rough to get in a good frame after being mocked
[–]Kenic_In_MD 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
lol after my frame got shattered I thought on it and i'm now stronger because I didn't let the lows stay low. Got my balls up and just kept it moving. Rejection sucks, but it can always be worse.
Yeah, getting over that fear its annoying. Some nights i never get past it so I just sit and watch whatever its on TV while sipping from my drink.
I am not really popular on the looks or charisma department so any past success its just a matter of being at the right place and at the right time.
Haven't experience that kind of rejection yet but I see how it can ruin any courage built to that point.
Having a fuck it attutude its probably the best thing we can do when it happens.
[–]injesterstrust 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
too true. Some nights I can approach and some nights it's just too daunting. Every 'opener' sounds retarded in my head. I expect a painful interaction where i'm struggling to hold convo with an uninterested girl and it puts me off.
And I HAVE had some pretty brutal rejections and it certainly does hurt, although strangely enough, sometimes t can help me too approach as it's like i've already got the worst out of the way!
However, a full night of harsh rejections puts some very 'bad' thoughts in my head come 2am!
But it's kind of ALWAYS a matter of 'right place, right time' as you say, tbh. no matter your 'skill' level. It's mainly always down to the girl being a)interested in your looks b)A sociable, friendly girl c)she's looking to get laid that night and logistics work out

honestly it sounds like you guys did something to get yourselves noticed by everyone in that bar in a bad way, maybe the bartender didnt like you or something? Or maybe the second girls just saw the first rejection? Perceived social value is pretty important
[–]RProgrammerMan 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I think the beginner mistake is to think that rejection will hurt your self-confidence and your self-esteem, which causes fear. In reality it only increases your confidence because no longer are you the guy too afraid to approach woman but now you are the guy who has the balls to approach woman even if it means rejection. The rejection itself toughens your skin and the fear disappears. You realize they can't hurt you but only make you stronger.

I went through a harsh breakup 6 months ago and am just starting to get back into the game.
Sorry to hear about that break-up, man....
This sort of thing can really cast a long shadow and directly lead into the challenges you find yourself facing as you get back into things, so I have to ask:
2
Getting beyond your fear of rejection is a huge step! :) It's usually one of the biggest hurdles we as humans face when we end up back in the dating pool.
That said, there's a lot of constructive feedback that could be offered to help you and your friend in how you run game out there.
The first rejection went like this: My friend and I were standing next to some girls and he turned to them and said: "May I introduce you to my friend..." and before he even finished the sentence the girl took a look at me, just said "no" and turned around.
Couple things here:
Having confidence is important, but being observant is perhaps the most important thing many guys overlook. Or if they do observe, they discount what they observe as relevant to how they interact with others. This could not be further from the truth. So many things going on around you, are great to reference in conversation because showing that you are paying attention and simply talking about what you've noticed, is simple, but powerful. It amounts to connecting with people based on your shared experience. This is no small feat.
3
The second rejection was when we went to a quieter part of the bar and I saw a girl sitting with her friends, so I just went up to her and introduced myself. Immediately she got extremely defensive and told me basically to fuck off. I was a bit perplexed by her angry tone and stood there dumbfounded for a few seconds, when even her friends came up to me and told me also in an extremely rude tone that she wasn't interested and I should piss off.
People don't go from zero to defensive and angry out of nowhere most of the time. You can observe who is more open to interacting with strangers pretty easily by paying attention to non-verbal communication before you open. It can be as simple as noting who smiles back if you're smiling. Or who avoids eye contact and who doesn't.
You're going to get these types of responses when you take stabs in the dark without getting any kind of feel for where other people are at.
4
I chose to take the second path: I owned that shit, told my friends about the epic ways I was just shut down twice, had a good laugh about it with them and continued to chat up girls. I ended up talking and dancing with two hot chicks throughout the night and even got the number of one of them.
Good show! It's definitely a good quality to be able to shrug it off and keep a good attitude! Can't really teach this.
5
Just don't take it seriously and realize that everybody has a type and there are always girls that will reject you, just don't let it pull you down.
Definitely true! You can do everything "right" and still get bad responses. I've seen people react negatively to someone making a throwaway comment in passing (with no intention of stopping or interacting beyond the comment) that someone in their group had an infectious laugh.... The reaction from one person was like they just saw a cow with two heads or maybe they assumed the guy was trying to shoehorn into their table. Drunks sometimes, amirite?
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
I wanted to make a post for this but I dont know how on the reddit phone app so I'm just throwing a comment here... do you guys on this sub ever feel like losers for spending so much time and effort working on "game" to pick up chicks? I mean all the reading of books, watching videos, seminars, I've even seen some guys pay 1,000 bucks for a online coach. It just seems like you become one of those "try hards" and never get any pussy anyway.
I think the more time spent working on game the worse you get. Maybe like a self fulfilling demise in your quest to get women. I read something in a book that said "the best way to have charisma is to not try to be charismatic" makes some sense.
If you just focus on you life and don't be a little bitch the women will come. What do you guys think?
[–]streetMD 3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Do you get better at public speaking by refusing to speak in public? No. It’s the same theory. You must practice. Keep. It. Simple.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Exactly, keep it simple. That's why I think spending countless hours reading books, watching videos, attending seminars, worshiping pick up artists ect. Is all way too much.
It's contradictory to being an "alpha male" or ladies man... alpha males aren't nerds that wear top hats and read a bunch of books about how to get women.
You could skip all the time with the excessive "practice" and sum it up with:
Have a purpose, focus on personal growth, don't be a bitch, go for what you want in life, know yourself. That's all you need to know to get any girl you want.
[–]carrawayjames 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
That balls on you to think your post is accurate
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Can you tell me what you don't think is accurate about my perception of this?
I'm not trying to be an asshole about this post. I'm genuinely curious about what you guys think about excessive use of all these pua utilities?
[–]streetMD 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I think research and practice was a must for me. I had to understand the psychology behind the dance. I don’t obsess or worship people, but I did do my research and I do practice daily. I get better by figuring out what does not work. I even practice on guys just to get good at dealing with mixed crowds. Like public speaking I am getting better with every execution.
[–]cyrilan 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
This is perfectly normal. Girls will almost never be open and nice to you on the open. They will have their shields up. It's very important to understand this. Whenever I approach a girl, I don't expect her to respond well at all. I have to persist until she does.
Girls put these shields up to filter the cool guys from the losers. Losers will be put into their head by her reaction and give up. Cool guys would laugh around and get her to warm up to them as they assume value.
[–]ermahgerdafancyword 13 points14 points15 points 7 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
People persisting and ignoring a No are the reason for the shields being up in the first place.
[–]cyrilan -2 points-1 points0 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
The reason she has her shield up is because she can't say 'yes' to every guy. She has to have a way of filtering out the chodes.
[–]ermahgerdafancyword 4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
That ignores the fact that some women don't want to filter, they actually want to be left alone and even for those who do, how exactly does it work, if every guy thinks that he's the exception?
[–]cyrilan -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
You are entirely missing the point. People with your mindset are most guys. They give up and assume a rejection instantly. It's only the entitled guys which persevere and show value. Most guys can barely approach yet persevere when girls put their shield up.
[–]ermahgerdafancyword 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
I don't think I'm missing your point, I'm just disagreeing with it. I don't assume a rejection, I listen when I'm given one. I listen, because I'm interested in women who are open to interact with me, they make for better company than any that are defensive from the get go, because there's usually a reason for that. They could be in a relationship, having a bad day, be lesbians, not interested in you personally, having bad diarrhea at the moment, who knows. You ignoring all those possible scenarios and instead think it likelier that all girl are just testing you, but secretly want you to ignore their wishes? In my opinion, pestering somebody who has told you No is not showing value, it's just re-enforcing the reason why women feel the need to be defensive in the first place.
[–]cyrilan 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
If a girl gives you a stern no and tells you to leave her alone, then you obviously shouldn't persist. But if a girl gives you the look of 'who tf is this creep', it's completely normal and she can warm up to you if you show her your amazing personality.
But yeah I agree. If a girl is super bitchy and basically tells you to fuck off, then you should 100% leave it. But it is important to realise that girls also put a shield up.

Getting rejected for the first time and get easier as you do get more and more rejected.
The only problem is though that not all guys/girls in this world chill in the club and want to hook up with some random other guy/girl and eventually start a relationship with them.
Like in my case: I have a crush on a classmate? Not really a class mate. We have only 2 classes together.
Since I have no friends and am afraid and idk how to do shit, I try to make friends with her best friend. Not bc she is her best friend but bc I generously like her.
The initial plan was talking to her friend and make my crush join the convo, no it looks like I found a friend lol
Not bad either

Truly, only a bitch will believe it's acceptable social etiquette behaving badly as OP described. Only a stupid person goes on like OP described. Being rude is impolite obviously to most all people. Seriously it's not a literal battlefield getting hit by fire. Because the only girlfriends who will believe that act means someone's a moral angel are the stupid ones. Why care to impress dummies? /s
OP, I see two options: A.) Give no more of your energy or time to the mean B.) treat those the way they want to be treated..Back by informing her she's rude and probably a bitch. And it would be extremely rare that any of her friends find the behavior of their friend acceptable as a matter of fact.
[–]ltdemon 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]freakstate 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I wouldn't take it personally. This is probably an unpopular opinion considering the nature of this subreddit but not all girls want to chat to guys on a night out, maybe they've got boyfriends/husbands etc or perhaps youre just not their type, plus if the intention was to 'bring them home' then maybe that intention was apparent from the start and wasn't there bag. Some (most?) girls do just go out to have fun with friends, not to get hit on after all. Did you try to talk to anyone else or was twice the entire effort from the night? Low effort yields low results maybe? Honestly wouldnt give people witnessing you getting rejected as a big deal, at least you tried and that's what counts.
I mean, is it even a rejection, if she's instantly a bitch?
I think about it like this: I am never going to escalate from my normal to huge dick upon someone I've just met. So if someone can instantly do that, would I ever touch them? Would I ever go seek a woman like that and decide to love her? Or a man? Would I want to know a man like that and become best friends with him? Would I want to stick my dick in that girl and risk getting her pregnant and being stuck with her in my life for the rest of a child's life?
Fuck no, I wouldn't. So if that bitch can turn around and say, "No" to an introduction then I wouldn't even want her meeting a child of mine, let alone make a child with me.
I wouldn't call that a rejection, I'd call that the most timely information I could find out from a potential partner.
Cuz ya know what? Some chicks are sneaky. They'll get into your life and their entire existence up until then has been elite training for how to fuck up your life. They are masters of mind fuckery and heart breakery.
Best to avoid shit women, because I am not a shit man. I wouldn't ever shit on someone like that, so I couldn't possibly ever be rejected by someone that would shit on someone like that. We can just assume it's mutual here. I will handle those behaviors my way, she handled my behavior her way, and hers is way worse than mine. Bad behavior gets ignored, good behavior doesn't.
Tl;dr Bitch, bye.
Yes MAN. I love this post.
I’ve been brutally rejected several times in the past too. Normally happens at night but I’ve had one or two day approaches where the girl was rude too. When you approach in large numbers it just bound to happen every now and then.
But I always use those brutal rejections as fuel. Whenever I am nervous to approach a girl I think back to those hard rejections and think “well I handled that .. I know I can handle rejection. I am confident I can handle rejections so there’s nothing to be scared off” and off I go.
For any guy who is terrified of rejection and has never had a brutal one. I dare you to approach so many girls that it happens to you. Because once it does and you learn you can take it, you become extremely confident and mentally tough.
Hard rejections + looking at those hard rejections from a positive angle = insane confidence

Be thankful for brutal rejections, they save time. Imagine she had been in a good mood, and you'd have dated her. You would have wasted weeks or months to find out what a person she is. But like that, you can just react "hey, thanks for the big red warning light".
[–]Tyrion69Lannister 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Doesn’t it make you feel bad and worthless that some other guy could talk to her and she would be nice to them and they’d eventually sleep together?

Have you ever read 'Models' by Mark Manson? There is a part about Redefining Success. Basically: If you think success with women is determined by which women chooses you, or a lay count, then you're going to have a bad time.
You should
define success as finding the woman/women who will maximize your happiness.
Or
success is defined by screening through as many women as possible until we find the ones we enjoy.
So yeah, be thankful for a brutal rejection and pity the fool who is going to be with her.
[–]breyerw 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
just shows how shallow and undesirable she really is
Bit harsh to judge a woman's character in the setting of her having a shield up against intruders. Maybe she has a boyfriend and felt that that's what he would want her to do rather than engaging with the wolves at all. Maybe she just came for a good time. Maybe you were the 5th guy that hour while she was trying to have a friend therapy session to keep interrupting their stories. Maybe you surprised her and her go to reaction was to shut down and she felt badly about it for days later.
Don't take it personally. It's not you, it's not her. It's just the situation. Approach girls like pieces of meat and be prepared to be treated like a knife.

[–]plxxx -5 points-4 points-3 points 7 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Are you autistics and not understand what I wrote? Here I’ll break it down for you. I approached what I thought was a lady. Her rude actions lets me know she isn’t one. A lady doesn’t act in such a foul manner.

I get it, I was just saying what she might say.
[–]ginsengwarrior 4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Bro such solid advice where can I buy your book?
[–]ermahgerdafancyword 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Rejection isn't (necessarily) rude, a No is not acting in a foul manner and a lady is certainly not someone who has never refused anyone's advances.

I only save that for when they are extremely rude and disrespectful . Of course if they say no without any attitude I wouldn’t use that line.
