According to Myers, corporations should not see people in terms of productivity, but instead should see people in terms of gender: reward women more for less work ... because "biology"! He calls for a special tax on men, to compensate women for the productivity that they fail to provide to employers because of their fragile gender.

I wish I could screen shot PZ Myers entire article and post it with no changes to this forum. It could easily have been written by an MRA, using sarcasm to illustrate the absurdity of feminist thinking.

In Japan and Korea female employees get additional days off each month which males don't get called menstrual leave. Not every female employee utilizes these, in my experience, but some occasionally do. So, if you hire a female employee, you basically require them to work less days than a male employee, and you still have to pay them the same amount.

Remember, guys: these are the same people who tell us that men aren't entitled to have the same choice as women to avoid parenthood after conception because men don't get pregnant (biology), and men should "take it up with mother nature".

So, to recap, according to feminism:

When biology poses obstacles for women, women must be compensated by "society" (euphemism for men) for their biological shortcomings (for instance, women shouldn't be expected to do heavy lifting if a certain job requires it but still be paid the same as men).

For men, biology is destiny, and if men don't like that they should take it up with mother nature.

That is what feminism looks like.

I'm a woman, and this confuses me. I've never taken time off work due to my menstral cycle. I didnt know women do this. How does one call in without loosing their job? Not that i want to, i just would think that if they were unreliable, they would be fired. Unless the woman is in so much pain from cysts that she is on vicodin, she should get her ass to work! (Working while on vocodin in dangerous.)

Worth noting that one of the comments pointed out this study, which found that a more likely explanation is that the clustering at multiples of 7 is a byproduct of the 5-day work week.

Must be such a thrill for feminists to hear that the wage gap, something that the not entirely close-minded knew was bullshit for years, may have a biological reason. It isn't their life choices that hinders their financial earning capability, but their biology! I love how when they finally start putting in controls for the wage gap study, it's always never to the extent that it would hurt their ideology.

PZ Myers should be banned from this sub, at least any link to his blogs, he is so fundamentally misguided. Ever since he became the king of white knights, his focus has gone above and beyond to appease feminist ideology.

So, if the raw pay of women is 70% of men's, and it's about 91% of men's after you account for things like women taking maternity leave and choosing lower-paying career paths, and now there's a study that shows that they're paid 11% less than men because of their menstrual cycles, I guess that proves that there isn't a wage gap, at least not as a result of sexism!

The way this should work is that employers should be required to withhold a special tax from only female workers (just like disability, unemployment, social security, or whatever). The important part is that this will only be withheld from women employees.

Then, when women miss work for their unique reasons, they can make claims just like people do for disability/unemployment, and no one will have to be mad.

Men are never going to call in sick because of menstrual issues. There is no reason they should be forced to subsidize this.

I'm for men's rights in a big way but this shit is petty. I think women should be given paid leave for their periods. Men don't have to go through that shit so we don't have any idea what it's like, though from how my girlfriends have talked it makes them feel pretty uncomfortable, in my opinion it can't be pleasant to go to work feeling like shit. Seriously guy's choose your battles wisely not pettily and molded by borderline misogyny. These are our sisters, daughter, mothers and friends, have some compassion.
