I rean on an old /r/askwomen thread where a women was complaining that just because she had kids and gained a little weightm she shouldn't be treated differently.

I commented that maybe she was being treated like a normal person, not like a lesser person. Of course that comment was modded sooo....

If you weren't flooded with that validation, your attitudes and expectations would be different.

You don't have to consciously accept it for it to influence your worth. It's self-evident. It's innate and it has been shaping your attitude since birth.

Say every man who you found attractive was wiped off the planet tomorrow. Just gone, you would feel their loss. But say you lived in a world where those men were never born, and your idea of what is "attractive" would be different. You are already conditioned to see the world though your particular rose colored glasses.

Attractive women do not only get in a boost in the number of men ogling them but they also get a boost in hiring, the number of people who are nice to them, people willing to do stuff for them, positive feedback. yes that most certainly can make you think you are better than others.

TLDR: Girl shames my cousin for running game on her because he's not cute, yet won't complain if the same advances were made by a wild chad/thad/brad.

I did some spelunking around the dark, dingy 700 SQ apartment and found an HB5.5 for target practice. I agree that after a woman gets laid a few times, in most cases she figures out the sex part is fairly easy and that’s she’s not anything special just for getting laid.

The thing that it does do is enable willful delusion. An undesirable woman can use all that attention as validation that her standards are fine and that she doesn’t need to improve. She just hasn’t met the right guy yet! It’s not her, it’s them! A guy can easily go years without a single compliment about his attractiveness. Maybe he does not choose or does not know how to improve his situation, but usually there aren’t anywhere as many guys in denial as girls.

I believe the cases where a woman’s ego is overinflated with no valid reason stick out like a sore thumbs and creates a sampling bias because they’re just really, really annoying. Every few weeks I see an article about dating BBWs/single mothers and how they’re just like other single women and you should treat them just the same! Those aren’t the kind of women I care to date though, so I just try and ignore them.

Female sense of self is formed over the years. Young girls in late teens / early 20s tend to be attention junkies to an extent greater than women in late 20s or 30s.

Male attention ceases to matter much beyond mid 20s. The asteroid sized inflated sense of self worth has already taken root by then. Incremental male attention doesn't make much difference at that point.

I don't date, but the following corollary is true: that is also why it is a bad idea to venture beyond courtesy compliments when dating a woman. You're asking the wrong question. Women's egos are not inflated by the value of men's attention, but rather the perception of abundance. At no other time in the history of humanity has it been easier for a woman to validate her ego or (falsely) evaluate her SMV. But that validation isn't based on quality, but rather perceived quantity. It's not just male attention that contributes to this. A constant chorus of 'go grrrl' supporters, endless Fempowerment memes and special social dispensations since before she enters preschool make up a far greater influence than male attention. If anything girls are taught from a very early age NOT to value male attention (in abundance or lack) as a source of validation or confidence.

Most males seem to be unable to understand that for women, quantity does not equals quality and that for us, a single approach of an attractive man is worth more than a 1000 unattractive.

I think it's a projection of the male psyche: male operates under a mentality of scarcity: they approach any remotely young and fertile female because they can mate with multiple women.
