No, it’s about making someone feel like they are your whole world. That you are a team. That whatever life throws at you, together you can get through it. It’s about being there at a persons worst and not just as their best. You fall in love with someone because of who they are and how they make you feel when you’re around them.

People fall out of love when the person that’s in front of you is no longer the person you fell in love with. It can be for so many reasons, that person might have changed to someone you don’t like. That person may let you down to a point you can’t move past it. They may cheat. Or you stop feeling important to them, they start taking you for granted and after a while the love dies.

Lust is about sex. Love is so much more

No. There are literally more ways than ever to watch movies. For some a particular movie is so meaningful/valuable none of that will ever beat owning their own copy. The person you love is your special edition. With a second disc. That has trivia on it or something.

No. I’m currently dating someone who is asexual and we have sex maybe once a month, if that. I’ve never been in a more healthy, happy, and stable relationship. I’ve had some bad relationships and some good ones but this is the best one yet.

I’m relatively sexual myself, I once did porn professionally for almost 4 years, and I once had a relationship where we would have sex literally all weekend. It’s super weird to feel genuinely happy without having sex almost at all, but it’s genuine all the same.

I guess I didn’t need it as much as I believed I did. Seems to be a common thing with most people in this kind of situation. I still wish I had it more but the relationship is providing me with enough happiness and stability that it’s a worthy trade.

Yes when you get down to it, but I don't see it as a negative thing. Love and sex reenforce each other. Take one away and the relationship suffers.

The thing is though, I think taking away love diminishes the significance of sex within the context of a romantic relationship. I mean think about. If I stopped caring about my boyfriend as a person and started treating him like some random lay, the sex won't be as special. It would mean as much as a one night stand. Still hot, but he's just another lay you know?

I think the emotional connection brought on by love is what gives sex it's importance in romantic relationships. So yeah love is really about sex, but without love sex kind of loses its potency. It's not special anymore. It's just another thing you do to scratch an itch and go about your day.

I mean. I would give up all the sex in the world to be with my partner (and I love sex lol, so that's saying something). Love is self-sacrifice and a choice. I chose my partner and will continue to choose him. I would sacrifice sex if that's what he wanted or required (of course I would prefer that not to be the case, but he's so much more important to me than just someone to have sex with). Of course, since he loves me back, he's also willing to sacrifice things for me, so we generally strike an even balance in meeting one another's needs. Love is a choice and is reflected in our actions of self-sacrifice.

That's how I view it anyways, and I'm extremely happy in my relationship. There's more to this and I realize it's more complicated, but to me, having sex with someone doesn't mean you love them.

No Ace folks dont always have sex, people with certain disablities, a whole lot of areas. Is sex really about love? for some. is love really about sex? for some. I guess if your asking from a biological perspective and lets desponse with love in the more lofty sense but pair bonding and mating then ok yeh. that that base level of how we are evolved it is, but on less base levels no love isnt going to be about sex. There are different kinds of love to remember so its broad from platonic, romantic, love for kids, pets etc. Romantic love doesnt always involve sexual attraction (asexual folks).
