Why is getting a girl pregnant smart for the man and dumb for the woman? She got him for (at least) 18 years, and she got a baby, hes financially screwed. Love is dumb for him, because it will lead to her getting him in marriage. The only smart for him is single with money.

How is getting a girl knocked up a smart thing for a guy to do again? 18 years of child support and baby momma drama is a power move? It's dumb for a woman who likes a guy to get her hooks in him for life? If anything I am offended by the fact it should be the other way around...

You are all missing the point...

Relationships where both partners are equals tend to work better than otherwise.
Dumb women use less birth control - and therefore tend to become pregnant more often. Dumb women also tend to trap good men, and they do that by getting pregnant.
In the great scheme of things, marriage doesn't provide men with anything at all that they want - yet it does provide women with everything they want. So, if the man is dumb and the woman is smart, she'll be able to trick him into marrying her.

This is just a (bad) comic showing you what tends to happen in these situations. And, it's actually fairly factual...

It's meant to be a joke and if you are that insecure about how people perceive you as a married man, maybe there is something fundamentally wrong with your marriage. Personally I married the right woman and am completely comfortable with that decision. I laughed this off without a second thought.

The middle one has an element of truth, but I don't think it's completely one sided. I personally will be horribly disappointed with any son of mine stupid enough to accidentally knock up a girl.

The first one amuses me (prepare for self indulgent drivel about "the one". Stick with it though, there's a point at the end). As soon as I got to know my wife I knew I wanted to marry her. I was no stranger to women and never felt marriage was anything more than a piece of paper, but when that one comes along you want her for eternity and you want to shout it out to anyone who'll listen. Any one who doesn't believe in this or agree hasn't met that one. But if you haven't don't feel bad, the odds of actually meeting your soul mate among 7 billion people is extremely unlikely and I feel like the luckiest man alive for having beat the odds. Conversely I know couples that have been together for almost a decade without ever discussing a formal commitment. From the perspective of a trained observer (I'm a qualified social researcher) it is clear that these people kept together by factors other than their genuine affection for one another. They work well enough to coexist, but something is stopping them from signing the deeds. Basically if you've been together that long and are still uncertain, the answer is no. Failure to see that and act decisively on it, in my opinion, is among stupidest things a person can ever do.
