I’m like most women, completely traumatized by men. Even before I started dating, I saw how they treated my friends, sister and cousins. I also saw how poorly my dad treated my mom. At this point I thought it was bad luck. I thought it was normal not to do anything on Valentine’s or other special occasions for a couple. Before fds I didn’t care about valentines, I didn’t think it meant anything because I never saw my dad put forth effort on that day.

Fast forward to my first relationship. He was doing well for himself and was in my opinion, the average guy. We graduated together, and I thought it was something special 🤡 anyways caught him cheating, turned out to be a porn addict and found out he threatened several girls online.

So I wanted to ask all of you: how do you put all that behind you to date? Or is that indication I should stop dating for a bit until I get over it? People always tell me I’m super young and should be dating but I find it difficult when I keep getting disappointed. Literally every potential man or date has been depressingly disappointing. Any pointers would help.
