I've never been "smashed and dashed" because I don't have sex in a relationship before knowing the guy is sincere. If anything, I've smashed and dashed guys who got butthurt because they asked me out after and I rejected them.

I've also never had issues with dating in general. Any problem I've ever had has been specific to that relationship. When you aren't raised to think that getting a date is the be-all-end-all of your existence, there's no reason to take a "pill."

I am in the purple pill debate because there are small grains of truth everywhere but are manifesting in half baked ideologies and radicalization.

I'm here to understand what truly lies in the rift between men and women. Personality and attractiveness scores probably don't matter much here.

I imagine everyone has their own unique view as to why we debate which pill is the realest.

Women, and I suppose men, can get pilled (or whatever you call it) by being with people in the family and/or workplace who weaponize gendered stereotypes.

I think women of all looks and walks of life have experienced some common experiences from being approached by various men. For women, these common experiences will lead to a unifying ideology on some things like "carry your keys in your hand and have someone walk you to your car" or don't invite him over if you don't want to make out with him/sleep with him" or "men will sleep with almost anyone." We don't have to actually have sex with these men to see what's happening, we can just be approached or see who and how they approach. That is one benefit to being the passive observer sex. I don't deny that there are some positives.

This is accurate. Especially, when it comes to intelligence and personality. I'm average looking at best as a woman. However, I'm highly intelligent and have a decent career in tech. I have a Master's degree. Apparently, that's intimidating to a lot of men.

Many of the men that do manage to show interest in me don't have any desire to "show me off" or be in a real relationship. They often disappear when they realize I won't put out as quickly as they'd like. I'm demisexual, so that may be a contributing factor.

I also tend to show interest in these men and try to be considerate and caring to the point of being called a "pick me" by other women. In relationships I've been in, I've put more effort in than I've received in return. It sucks and I wonder why I bother sometimes.

To be honest if they’re vulnerable enough to need a pill to tell them they’re unattractive then I guess so. The problem is both circumstances are not favourable unless we think that the sex is.

Personally I never had the smash and dump thing. Maybe I am too woke to see the game being played to fall “victim”. But I am on this group because I like to see different discussions about things. I am not even looking to date or anything just out of interest.

I think it’s a middle class thing. The rich and the poor both understand that life is but a lark; from one day to the next it’s all random. I’m here because I’m interested in possibly dating someone and after spending 6 years in an abusive relationship. i want to be aware and educated about these ideologies and potentially avoid another bad situation. I think people become jaded after really bad heartbreaks or if they put lots of effort into dating but nothing ever sticks - always seen as casual. I have never been heartbroken and don't put much effort or energy into dating partners so it doesn't bother me.

I'm jaded mostly because of my childhood, seeing how many women who became mothers are treated, and my own personal trauma.
