I personally do not believe most people value loyalty as much as they claim. Sure, they may want others to stay loyal to them but their loyalty completely depends on thier options. There are a lot of cheaters and backstabbers who preached loyalty.

If you're "attached" to someone because you don't think you can do any better, that doesn't mean you're a loyal person. You're just dependent, not loyal.

If someone more attractive than your partner (not just physically) comes along and wants to be in a committed relationship with you, you're probably gonna bite. Even if you hesitate at first, you're probably gonna end up pursuing something them. Call me cynical all you want but many humans have proven time and time again that they're more loyal to thier own pleasure than anyone else.
