He’s not viewing girls with a harsher lens. Women are just more likely to have this faux indignation because someone came up to them and asked how many sets they have left while they are trying to record dumb videos for their social media. Women already assume that every guy is staring at them, especially when they make the conscious choice to wear tight fitting clothes that show off their curves.

Imo it’s really simple. A couple of videos where men were actively hitting on women in the gym (interrupting her workout to ask her out, becoming agitated when she said no thank you, etc.) went viral. What do people on social media, particularly tik tok do? Follow viral trends. There’s been an uptick in these sort of low-effort “omg he’s staring at me” videos trying to capitalize on the same phenomenon without the same source material.

I find it bizarre that women in the gym feel the the need to film and record and it's like they're looking for any excuse to attempt to shame men in the gym as creeps and perverts for any reason.

A lot of women especially women in the gym definitely seem to have some neuroticism where they have a strange weird main character syndrome that causes them to believe that men are obsessed with them.

A lot of women are already obviously making gym by trying to look for perceived creeps and perverts and it says a lot about the nature of women.

Not having a women are wonderful effect does not make a man a misogynist. Women are human beings just like men who are equally not as wonderful. Women are wonderful simply because they're women.

I own a gym and let me tell you... Some of the complaints my staff has to investigate from women are absolutely ridiculous. We have cameras throughout the facility which apparently many of these women don't realize, because they'll turn a guy walking within 4 feet of them into a fantastical sexual harassment story where he "rubbed his genitals against her".

It annoys me immensely when women do this because when 9 out of 10 times the story ends up being blown way out of proportion, you can't help but start to feel like you're wasting your time by taking them seriously.

Honestly him and Noel Deyzel seem to have positive influences or at least being liked many audiences. But as you said, women don't like when people expose them consistently and that's why Joey should start to be cautious. It is not impossible in the near future that a femcel looser or white knight dig up in his past and tries to cancel him. I have already seen some posts of Twitter and Tiktok comparing him to A. Tate because of his "audience" (which is ridiculous, you don't choose who you want to agree with you when you denounce a problem).

He should continue to do his thing, and make his content but he should start to be cautious because he exposed many unhinged women and women don't like that someone check on their behavior(wether it is a man or a woman).

But to answer the second part of your post OP, many women think all men want them. He recently exposed a girl " an underage 21-year old" for being a piece of shit. She posts many apologies the following days(even a formal one) after being exposed. One thing she said caught my attention and it could resume why women act this way. So she said:" I am an attractive young woman by the current beauty standards so it is normal for men to talk to me". Girl looked like your regular female twitch streamer (they have this particular aesthetic I don't know how to describe it). This sentence she wrote can easily sum up everything:

I think I am attractive so all men can potentially be attracted to me and as a result I can decide that men I don't find attractive are whack and shame them, even make comments that can have serious impacts on them socially speaking.

Men don't speak to women and don't look in their directions but even that is not enough. I think the answer is gym putting in place a non-filming policy.

He’s calling them out because there’s a trend on tiktok. The trend is women basically trynna expose dudes for being just alive in the area. There’s a trend of women who have some serious mental health issues with hating men. Like not in the funny twitter way. But in the Nazi extermination way. Ironically those same women support or have OFs. So it’s ironic.
People seem to think the gym is a church or a holy site. Seriously it’s a gym. If people talk or look whatever. As a religious person it feels weird that non religious people seem to have turned gyms into holy sites. Like this place ain’t sacred chill. If you can’t socialize at the gym or be a normal person but have to record yourself constantly you need to be kicked out.

Like the anti social behavior folks have need to be shamed. Stop being NEETS introverts. It’s not cute to have on the spectrum levels of social skills.

One reason there are so many more examples of women’s poor gym behavior is there are more female wannabe fitness influencers. I say wannabe because the really successful ones aren’t stopping this low for views. I don’t think it says much about “the nature of women” as whole, just like a few men perpetuating sexual harassment doesn’t say much about “the nature of men”.

Most people are good and I’m very glad to see Joey Swoll call out this toxic behavior. It reminds me that there are people calling out bad behavior to make change for the better. To me it’s very weird people are calls him misogynist, his videos (I’ve watched quite a lot) all seem fair.

I think he may be targeting something specific that he sees a lot. If these women didn’t want to be critiqued then they should stop being influencers… stop drawing attention to yourself. Just a quick FYI I think a lot of your followers are probably creepier than the guy who briefly glanced your direction because you’re hipthrusting in a squat rack using up all the equipment while taking your sweet time and recording a video. oooohhh, I have so much to say, but this is just a discussion thread not my personal soapbox.

Women are the biggest gym creeps. From masturbating with the aductor machine, to playing the pick me around guy friends, to activelly creaping on other women... Not saying all women, not by a wide margin, but if you are looking for female creeps - they will be found at the gym for some reason.

However - we as a society do not have the culture to see female creepy behavior. Everything you conceptualize as creepy - male action. Try it, imagine right now a woman creeping - you would not be able to think what that looks like or sounds like.

The opposite is for male creepy behavior. We expanded the definition so a man can "creep" unironically on his literal wife. The dude that just hours before was staring at her arsehole and saw a bit of chocolate maybe - can creep out his wife. Genuinely our society is as hypocrytical as any religion.

I'll leave it here - and not add how women understand creepiness after a meeting with the council of unfuckable bitter maidens - and what you as a reasonable woman would call overreaction - if flagged among your group of female schizos, once that flag is raised among men and women in public, you side with the sisterhood by default and you are all "believeallwomen"

Men are routinely annoying in the gym. I have a specific routine I go through because I have joint issues I was born with. The number of men who've tried to correct me, then responded poorly when I told them I was already operating on the suggestion of my PT is ASTRONOMICAL.

The gym is not a place for nonsense. I'm trying to keep my body functioning for as long as possible, I don't have time to entertain the ego trips of other folks.

If you MUST approach someone in the gym, don't be a twat. If you hear a no, even a subtle no, LEAVE A BITCH ALONE. You won't end up on tiktok that way.

Remember that "lunkhead" reputation lifters and bodybuilders had in the 90s? Yeah it seems to have spread genders.

Gyms are largely built on insecurity. And I say that as someone who has been training fucking intensely for over a decade. Women often attend them due to some kind of unhappiness with their current physical form. There is nothing wrong with being insecure about something you're actively wanting to change but it can foster negative attitudes such as narcissism or self obsession. I think much of this has been exasperated by the pandemic too.

At my gym none of the women interact much with each other, and the men absolutely want nothing to do with us (but that may be a regional beauty standard issue. Extremely thin, little to no muscle). They do, however, have no qualms about loudly talking about how ugly fat and disgusting we all are when they think we can’t hear them.

I’m a woman and a gym rat and I adore joeys videos. They’re great. Especially when he complains about shit heads doing super sets.

I think you have to define toxic, honestly. But my short answer is no. I think, for every woman trying to get tik tok famous off of showing men looking at her ass, there's lots of women that are really dealing with dudes being anything from douchey know it alls, horn dogs, to outright predators.

I can say as a woman consistently in a gym environment, most of the time everything's great and there's harmony and peace in the land. And any disruption to this is more likely to come from a guy than a girl (both because of more men being there, and them being more likely to do something that causes beef or problems). Both can do it. But I've seen men get kicked out for being creeps. I've not seen women kicked out yet. The most they do is some gossipy drama that remains in the realm of words and is exclusively directed at other women in most cases.

I will say, women tend to deal with more unwanted attention, more disrespect from dudes trying to show off when they know jack all, more interruptions, and more just like, nonsense from men in this environment. The amount of guys trying to correct me daily is a headache (I fucking teach this shit, go away). The amount of guys trying to hit on me daily or interrupting me doing something important to slobber at me, irritating and again, go away, I'm doing stuff. This isn't your hour, chief.

I think, often, women are treated as toxic for not responding sweetly to what men are doing to them. And you can argue how you see about that.
