It's been a really fucking unexpected issue for me that seems to run against the mainstream narrative that tells us guys should err on the side of restraint, be socially calibrated, and always ensure that they're being respectful and not too pushy or vulgar.

Well I've had multiple women go cold after a 1st or 2nd date which I thought had gone well, only for me to reach out or cross paths later on only for them to tell me that they assumed I wasn't that interested in them.

What? Because I didn't try to finger fuck them under the table at the bar? Because I didn't invite them back to my apartment after the 1st date?

Note that these are dates with women who have told me they were looking for something long term, who I've been having wholesome conversations with before we met, not fuck and duck arrangements.

And whilst I'm not some casanova, I still think I express my sexual interest well enough by having strong eye contact, sparing amount of physical touch, asking sincere questions, and going for a kiss at the end of the date or when it feels appropriate (sometimes waiting until the 2nd date) then telling them that I would be eager to meet them again so they aren't left in limbo

What else should I be doing?

Does modern dating move so fast these days that there's no time for taking things slowly or have I just had dates with hypocritical women? I prefer to take things more slowly and build an emotional connection before doing it as seen on the discovery channel but this doesn't seem to cut it with a lot of women.

Also would you approach a 2nd date if the first date was good but mostly platonic? Do you up the sexuality as much as possible or do you keep taking it slow?
