How do you gauge the emotional intelligence of a man you’re interested in?

Do you ask if he reads?

Do you see if he’s asking as many questions as you are?

If you bring up a topic he is excited and passionate about, where do you draw the line between someone who talks about their own perspective too much and someone who is just genuinely excited to share information about themselves or things they’ve learned?

If a man is talking too much about one thing or hasn’t expressed curiosity about something you want him to ask you about, do you communicate that or do you just let him continue to own the conversation?
