“Manosphere” and “redpill” affect a very low number of men that subscribe to those ideas. Feminism is one of the most influential and well funded ideologies of the past decades. Redpill makes a couple thousand dudes give their money to grifters. Feminism enshrines laws in countries that rules men cant be raped and little boys have to pay child support to their pedo rapists while also supporting sexist discriminations like Duluth Model that ruin lives of countless men and push back against things like male shelters and take over and destroy male support organizations like Movember.

Trying to compare the two is meaningless at best and malicious at worst.

One side siphons money from men and tells them to hit the gym and be jerks. The other has successfully lobbied jurisdictions to make sure men who are raped aren't recognized legally.

I really do not see them as anywhere close to equivalent in the damage they have caused to men.

Personally, I have never come across any “manosphere” content other than that which was promoted by Feminists using those communities as excuses to justify general hatred of men.

It’s like how Fox News pounces on every crime committed by an immigrant to validate xenophobia.

I have seen no evidence to suggest that men turning to red-pill misogynistic dating strategies is, in any way, widespread.

Last time I checked, about 10,000,000 people still thought the world was flat. Finding an idiot champion does not prove a trend. “Men are evil because Andrew Tate exists” is mostly what I see.

I have only ever seen his stupid face from feminist content, in my feed, saying how awful he is.

I have only vaguely looked into the actual statistics. What I saw did not seem to indicate there actually was much popularity, amongst men, of “manosphere” content.

What seems to be, is judging any group of men, and all men, by the worst of men.

Some incel forum, where men vent about their suffering of failing to find any success in dating, some fraction of those men let their frustration turn to hate, and, and instantly decrying the whole community even if the majority of that community was not engaging with it.

Again, I do not know.

But XX, perpetually, unbanned, is a hate-scroll of constant misandry, all day every day. I would say that seems to be the bigger expression of widespread bigotry.

Then again, I am only on Reddit. Maybe there is a large and popular manosphere, of equivalent hatred and popularity to XX, and I’ve just never seen it.

But I’ve never seen it.

The current obsession of feminism with masculinism and the manosphere is giving massive publicity to an until now almot non-existent movement. They're Barbara-Streisanding us to prominence.

Of course they're trying, and largely succeeding, to get the movement to be treated as terrorist without any basis to do so (which shows the insane institutional power of feminism), so maybe repression will win. It often does. I however believe in the disobedience of teenagers. In the long run, they might help us more than break us. A few years from now we'll be counter-culture. We might already be.

Redpill isnt actually what you describe, that's more Blackpill stuff. Many people don't understand that because they just never bother to study exactly what Redpill is and anything opposing Feminist values is portrayed as misogyny. Redpillers can.get misogynistic, for sure, but it's more along the lines of.... When women say they value a "kind man", it's mostly bullshit. To attract women you need to get in shape, earn money, and look.imoressive. It encourages people to do that and ignore what women are saying directly because women's motivation is in protecting their own image. It's "the red pill" because they feel it's the truth.

The manosphere's effect is overblown in my opinion. The men they do trap may be harmed more than the average male feminist but it's like comparing sharks to mosquitos in deaths

Feminists uses manosphere as a convenient excuse to completely shut down any argument. I don't know about most in this sub but I never consumed more than 5 minutes of content from any manosphere influencer in my life. I never listened to or applied their advice for dating. Yet when a man criticizes feminism and misandry, he is automatically lumped in with them.

This is a bit of a weird question for me. I don't even see the manosphere stuff as a threat to male advocacy. People seem to be acting like there is no female equivalent to the manoshpere. There very much is, it just doesn't have a name or a negative label attached to it. And I don't think it's a threat to female advocacy in any way.

The amount of men "turning into misanthropic freaks" is largely overstated.

I feel like there's value in all of them, but redpill is basically just seeing things clearly, there is no doctrine of action behind it, the manosphere seems to focus internally and it's largely commentary of, and reaction to, what women are posting online, or hustle and grind education (grift mostly) framed as masculinity teachings, by men who are only masculine in a performative way (TATE & co) I don't see well funded male charities, support services for men and boys, not even by men... I don't see proposed law changes around actual equality, or parental rights, or even legislation against false allegations, I don't really see what male advocates do except post online. Sure i cant see everything, but i'm active in the space and don't see much actual action as a result of redpill or the manosphere, in wider society.

Both. If feminism (which has co-opted leftism) wasn't Like That, there wouldn't be a "red pill manosphere" and the right wouldn't have been able to successfully grift on disaffected men like they have. Or more accurately, it would be more niche.

I think it's overly simplistic to say that a version of the red pill manosphere wouldn't ever have existed with toxic feminism, but I do think it wouldn't be the force it was and still is if feminism wasn't so atagonistic, hateful, and in some cases, outright genocidal in its rhetoric against men. How many comments and posts on social media of redfems casually talking about killing all men or imprisoning all men does there have to be before people actually take it seriously that there are people out there with radical misandrist views?

But that doesn't make the right any better in any way. It's just a nefarious reaction to another nefarious group and their rhetoric.

The uphill battle is still even being able to have a good faith conversation where we can criticize feminism without instantly being shut down and attacked as misogynist incel monsters. Because they have effectively made it so feminism = women. And criticizing feminism = hating women.

red pill vs feminism? feminism is more of a threat. Red pill is fairly specific and doesn't have much pull. Manosphere vs feminism? That can kind of go anywhere depending on what is included in "manosphere." My (somewhat joking) litmus is if your manosphere definition includes joe rogan, then manosphere is more of a threat (just because it's dumb conservative populism and including him would necessitate including a lot of his orbiters/pushers such as thiel and musk). If it doesn't, then feminism.

I'm not sure but I think it would mostly comes down to numbers. On average the manosphere is way more agregous but feminism is way more mainstream. 10 years ago I would have said feminism without hesitation but since then it feels like every high school and college boy I talked to has some major manosphere influence. The same thing is true if we think about it in terms of power. Feminists have been dominant for decades, but at this point they mostly fight for preserving small anti-egalitarian policies that keep them dominant. On the other hand you have people like Dug Wilson and Peter theal who now have direct access to the White House but much less relitive influance. They are less capable of getting specific things but, by virtue of the extremity of their possessions, might have an even larger effect on the Overton window and political discourse broadly.

because they've actually enacted laws, policies and societal perspectives that are harmful to men or just leave men out.
