I always got the vibe from Roosh that he was deeply unhappy and not necessarily aware of it. Wouldn’t be a stretch for me to believe he just cracked one day, and that his change is genuine and not purely cynical.

However, there is a strong possibility he is just cynically analyzing his own marketability, seeing the declining interest in game/PUA type material which peaked mid 2000s with Neil Strauss. Tbh I’m kinda surprised in hindsight that he kept PUA material going as long as he did. If he is 40, he’s aged out of his realistic ability to pull women for casual (or anything) for much longer if at all. Who is going to believe or listen to a 50 year old “player?”

Additionally, he’s been canceled 5-10 times over, and there is no meaningful salvaging of his reputation for a normal job. He’s going to have to make something work longer term as an Internet personality, and since his audience is so far right the only logical thing to do is “repent” and become a “born again” Christian. That’s the problem with “canceling” people: they now have to make a living pissing people off because they are unhirable by any normal job.

Never cared for the guy all that much tbh, 1/20 of his articles were surprisingly insightful and well put imo.

I think his conversion is real. Anyone is forgivable if they repent. doesn’t mean you suddenly trust everything they say. But I think he’s for real. Contemplating mortality (here I specifically refer to his sister’s passing) can change people like that. He lived pretty hard and wild for a while and it’s not unusual at all for such people to have a wake up call at how lucky they are to be alive and how much they’ve pushed their luck and kind of swing really different.

I dont think a man who's vividly described himself forcing women into having sex with him in his books has not "done anything to be sorry for" but I am willing to forgive him for his past actions assuming this is genuine remorse. I fully believe that most things can be repented and anyone can serve a good cause.

I'll be honest, I've always been somewhat intrigued with Roosh. I have mixed feelings about him.

In his earlier days, his posts went to the extreme. One thing that bothered me was when he went through his rawdog phase. That's just nasty. It's one thing to want to be a manwhore, it's another to do it without a condom just because it feels better. He later recanted. IMO, his earlier books were very poorly written.

On the other hand, his RooshHour videos were very entertaining. I saved all of them. I really haven't seen any content that is as accurate at describing the degeneracy of modern civilization. He really connected a lot of dots for me. I'm actually really disappointed that the old Roosh is gone.

His conspiracy stuff I also found entertaining but not a full believer of.

Now as to who he is now....... I really don't know what to think. Part of me thinks that he was desperate to start a new life and isn't really into the God stuff. He was clearly unhappy living all alone in eastern Europe. He had no purpose or identity there. Didn't speak the language. Probably few real friends too, just internet followers. The people that followed him were mostly alt-right or alt-lite. I almost feel like he had to make the pieces fit. He said some things that made me think he was going to pull something like this before it happened.

It's also possible that he just snapped. He claims to have taken mushrooms and experienced God. His most recent videos are bizarre. On one hand, it seems like he's trolling, on the other, it seems like he's genuinely gone crazy.

His most recent video is perhaps the strangest. He talks about denouncing consumerism but then goes right into how he wants to be an underwater welder because it pays really well...... He's talking about moving into the mountains but being a pastry chef in DC....... Then how he might date a woman with a lot of mileage.....

Perhaps, it's a genuine transition but something just seems really off.
