I watched my parents relationship and how shit it was, my Dad repeatedly cheated on her and she forgave him each time, and today he constantly argues with her and doesnt want her to progress with her career.

I watched my friends in relationships where they argued all the time, got cheated on, cried endlessly.

So today I'm with a man I love and care for, it's our 2 year anniversary tomorrow, we have never had an argument or fought. I saw what not to do and didnt do it.

I learned everything I know from my mother. When I was younger she gave me the book The Rules and always modelled the behavior she expected of me. My father cheated and she left and was remarried in two years to a younger more stable man. Quite the opposite of you OP but I am grateful for her response to infidelity.

Its impossible to really list all the influences but my beliefs are my own.

I became an atheist on my own, no one convinced me, I didn't read any of the atheist books, no one questioned my belief. I just thought the whole thing made no sense while still a child. This was before atheism was a internet fad. I told society to fuck off.

I became a swinger because it appealed to me. No one introduced me, I just felt I needed a more exciting sex life than monogamous sex. I told society to fuck off again.

One thing I've learned is that much of what you are is purely intrinsic to you. If you were religious lets call it a soul. You can predict how people will vote or think based on other aspects of personality, and those aspects never fully change.

My belief is we pick beliefs based on what our innate proclivities and intelligence find appealing.

Red Pill.

Where I got my beliefs went like this:

Grew up with extremely BP parents. Thought that was how the world worked. "Happy life, happy wife," etc. Let the woman dominate because she's more competent, etc.

In HS I didn't ever take the lead or anything. Waited for women to come to me since I thought they would if they were interested. Predictably I got zero women whatsoever.

Found manosphere content online. Started with RSD & SimplePickup, then found TRP and the like. Saw that these men were acting more like how I always wished I could act, but had previously thought acting like that wasn't what women wanted. So I'd been trying to fake being BP.

Got to college, had zero experience with women and really extremist manosphere beliefs. Saw women as nothing more than sex. Still was faking who I was a bit--acting even more RP than my own natural tendencies. But actually I got lots and lots of success being this way.

Over time I got more experience, more success, lost lots of the bitterness for "having been lied to," leveled out my views. Started just acting exactly in accordance with how I wanted to act and feel natural acting. Zero inhibitions. Nowadays on the pill spectrum I'm probably "light red." I think some of it's a little too hardcore, but much of it is true. And it works. So I could never go back. Going back would be impossible. It works too well.

So, combination of experience and reading online content is where I got my worldviews. Sorted out what, to me, was bullshit, and what is absolute truth. In my humble opinion I think I have a very good understanding of how it all works now.

I'm lucky enough to have the knowledge that there is God in everyone, that we all have the potential for kindness, brotherhood, and human potential regardless of mistakes in the past. That includes people convicted of major crimes etc. An event does not define us.

A major influence influence on my beliefs was a Quaker staff I admired, however from an early age I learned that we need to lift ieach other up, not knock each other down.

That normies were generally scum, everyday life growing up in a blue-collar town. Most of the adults I knew were divorced (all my Aunts and Uncles have been divorced at least once) and the ones that weren't probably should've been (including my own parents)

Red Pill beliefs about women, partially Dr Nerdlove's blog back in the day. His tagline was "helping the geek get the girl" but his advice was really "how to stop being a nerd because girls hate those" and "I'm an ex-PUA and my primary skill is telling women what they want to hear so I can fuck them easily and feminism is the big thing that's in right now so I'll just tell feminists what they want to hear." It also heavily soured me on feminists at the same time, who talk the talk about wanting equality but really, they just want their cake to look at and eat it too, they want all the advantages of being men and none of the disadvantages of being women. (As well, a lot of them were university educated and I never went and yet I could keep up with them and out-debate them, which is sad in itself. You generally know you've got a university cunt cornered when they stat demanding studies and statistics)

Also various random youtube videos and articles every once in awhile (I think Roosh/Return of Kings was one of them?) but a lot of that stuff was chest-beating manly shit and I grew up with those kinds of men, they're morons and proud of it, and anyone who's into Joe Rogan shit like that is not someone I want to be like either

I honestly don't think I've ever actually read a full red pill manifesto or guide or whatever else. They always get bogged down by nerdy terminology, and whenever I'd try, I'd mostly just have the reaction of "get to the point, I already know this" before not bothering with any more of it.

My parents had a lovely marriage, and they were very happy together. My beliefs and expectations for relationships were heavily influenced by the marital harmony in my household and those of my friends.

To this day I still don't know anyone that has gotten divorced.

I've never been dumped or felt desperate, I always got the man I wanted. The pill sphere was a shock, mainly for its sheer volume of misery.

I was conditioned into tradgirl-ism by my parents example as well as by my cousin's poor choices. My cousins are age peers and have consistently made "the wrong choice" when it came to men and dating. I guess they were real life AWALTs and their constant misery was a real time lesson on what not to do.

When I was very young, I noticed I had something best described as brain damage that made me behave different from what I wanted, made me an outcast and all that. As a young child I entertained the idea of suicide, but when I was about 10 years old, I decided that fuck it, I'm gonna just make the best of what I have.

As a result, I have tried my best to think how I want to behave, and trained to make my actual behavior match that. At around 17 years old I encountered PUA, and thought it was the answer to my prayers, but upon further inspection it seemed to lack the depth I was requiring, so I turned to regular evolutionary psychology, cognitive psychology and game theory. Mediocre results.

So I guess it makes me blue piller. Not sure though, it feels like "blue pill" has many meanings here, but for me, the foundational thing is open honesty. Because I can't function myself without being open and honest with myself, I also tend to require that trait in others too, perhaps more than many others.

It's the mix of my family experience, things I observe in my social circle and just everything I read in more or less degree depending on the resource, it's reliability, whether it has some scientific support etc.

My mother is my only parent, she was able to combine being a great mother and work hard on her career. Her example is what formed a lot of my beliefs and personal motivation. Women in my family tend to be independent and into egalitarianism especially in comparison with their social circle, The idea that you should be self-sufficient and be able to provide for yourself and your children is really strong. So as a result I was never into traditional roles or stuff like red pill.

I lean redpill, had issues back home, didn't really have much of a social life in my teenage years and any good advice or mentors regarding relationships. Was always trying to be the good Catholic boy.

I read through the Internet for answers but I got the typical bluepill stchick, Dr Nerdlove, feminist blogs and YouTubers telling me how shit of a person I was for not being attractive and "figuring it out"

A friend let me read her copy of "The art of seduction" which strangely actually worked and got me into my first real relationship.

Though I had dumped religion I was still reading the feminist blogs around the same time so I was still apprehensive about approaching women sexually. They kept yammering on about PUAs and redpill so I checked them out, read them, applied redpill and dumped PUA because honestly it was a bit silly.

I noticed that whenever I applied the redpill to my life I actually felt better and got closer to what I wanted. When I didn't I regressed and felt miserable. My more successful friends were already applying "the redpill" they just didn't call it that.

Finally though I see the merits of the redpill I don't agree with everything, especially the tradcon stuff.

I was raised in a typical religious household, and I was a typical 'good boy'. Always very athletic and naturally strong, but as a nice guy girls, as expected, wanted nothing to do with me. Sure they'd always ask for help with homework, or whatever, but being nice failed badly. Even the 'girlfriends' I had took off real quick as soon as I opened up to them emotionally.

You learn real quick, never show your emotions to a woman. They will weaponize it against you.

But I liked working out, martial arts, and I matured. Somewhere along the line I crossed the 80/20 line into 'chad-hood'. Where-as before I could do no right and was invisible to girls; now they were everywhere. They would throw themselves at me, constantly ask me out, buy me shit (this took me completely by surprise, random girls just buying me stuff). Every age, shape, style, race, orientation, it didn't matter. And it didn't matter what I said or did, I could do no wrong, you flash a smile and they would just melt.

It blew my mind. When RPs say 'AWALT', they really do mean it. From church girls, to club kiddies, to cougars, to fitness girls, to gamer girls... it was across the board. If you are in that 20% you are treated like royalty.

A few years after that I became very sick, and slipped back below the 80/20 line. All those female friends vanished, nearly instantly. Its been many years later but now I'm far too sick to give a shit. Instead I'm waiting for yet another specialist appointment and needed something to pass the time, so I'm here...

I realized I hated weak men at a young age when I watched my mom be forced to take the lead because my dad was ineffectual and passive and incapable of taking initiative. If anything got done it was because my mom MADE it happen, while my dad either sat on the sidelines or dragged his feet. It appears my mom chose him because he has good genes and good looks and had an easy going personality at the time, not realizing that easygoing and lazy are the same thing, until it was too late. I had to watch my mom’s hopes and dreams crumble because my dad was a failed male who could neither protect nor provide. I was envious of my peers who had parents with happy relationships, because their fathers were real men who took care of their shit and made their wives proud to be with them and made their children feel safe and proud to have come from them. Their dads were stoic protectors and my dad was a jester, more like an older sibling than a parent. The other kids could say “my dad’s a lawyer” or “my dad’s a fireman” and when my father came up I’d have to lie or change the subject because he literally didn’t do anything. He couldn’t keep a job because he’d consistently get fired for not showing up on time. I had a lame weak beta dad I couldn’t look up to or respect. He never accomplished anything and never kept his promises, all talk but no action. I love my dad because he’s my father, but I haven’t respected him as a person since I’ve become aware of the world.

And then getting followed and harassed by old men when I was barely 12, groomed by an ugly obese man when I was a teen, and then used for sex by dishonest players once I matured cemented my feelings toward men. Good family oriented alpha bucks men are gods, but most men ain’t shit.

Currently, from reality. There is masculinity and femininity objectively, as a matter of the nature of males and females. Simply put without any explanation why that’s the case, masculinity is initiating within a romantic relationship, and only when in a romantic relationship, while femininity is going along with that. Look at what’s involved in a courtship, in a relationship developing from start to finish, and initiating along those steps is masculine while going along with the others initiative is feminine. For example, it’s masculine to approach, to ask someone out on a date, to escalate the physical intimacy, to ask someone to marry you etc. A very good analogy is social dancing, which isn’t a coincidence at all. Masculinity or femininity is within the bounds of being a good lover, like not cheating and not enabling, so your parents weren’t being masculine and feminine.

However, it’s important to note that just because masculinity is X that doesn’t mean that if you’re a man you should do X as well. That’s a whole other discussion based on morality, your individual psychology, where your choices have a huge influence, and your individual biology. And I think being a good lover requires taking your career seriously, including being a mother while you’re a mother, and putting your career over your romance for any individual in a romance.

Edit: Also like to add that masculinity and femininity doesn’t have anything to do with who stays at home to raise the kids, whether or not having kids is even appropriate for your relationship, who cleans the house, who cooks etc.

Besides my own first hand experience, the main influences who’ve helped me generalize from reality myself are Ayn Rand and Nathaniel Brandon. I started out not really caring about the issues too much regardless of my parent’s more traditional not so healthy relationship. Then as I became aware of the issues through society, becoming interested in the matter and coming across Rand, I ended up being certain from my reason that there must be some relationship between biology and what is masculinity/femininity, but I didn’t know how to figure that out nor what that was nor how that would be related to what you should do knowing that. Then as I gathered experience and learned to think better, I was able to figure out what’s what myself.

I learned a lot about relationships from that time in my life.

Although despite all that I was pretty blue pill prior to coming to reddit. I purpled out slowly as I got more of my own relationship experience and as I learned more about male experiences.

Not quite sure what I am, but I think I'm "awakening" from blue to purple.

I was exposed to the good-guy messages in my youth: no means no, open doors, wait till marriage, etc., from religious Latin American parents and some mainstream messages. my parents were faithful to each other and balanced household tasks. So I've always been the gentleman, the true nice guy. But my kindness has been misinterpreted as weakness or lack of confidence, which makes no sense to me. Can't people just be kind and take care of their partner? The RP stuff I've recently learned about does offer intriguing - and disappointing - explanations for some of the baffling behavior I've seen from women.

I guess I started out purple, quite like my mom, while my dad is slightly redder. I went to university, where I met more liberal people than the small-towners in my home town. Became slightly more BP, but not quite. I studied abroad in Sweden. There, I saw first hand what Sweden's quite proactive stance on gender equality did for my life, even in comparison to my already quite progressive home country. I get catcalled quite often at home, but in Sweden it literally never happened, for example. Sweden turned me full on Blue pilled. Living in Sweden, I also identified as a feminist for the first time.

My mother is very likely undiagnosed with a few things like borderline NPD, possibly BPD, bipolar disorder, and is just a wreck in general. My experiences with her have red-pilled me about women, but mostly the negative parts (unless they're all negative).

My beliefs about life in general were otherwise blue pilled. I just acted according to however I felt and the things I knew as a kid. My later beliefs stemmed from watching "The Matrix" trilogy and internalizing a lot of the content on it because it really resonated with me when I first saw it. Learning how to separate red from blue as well as understanding the balance between the two is what makes me purple.

Trial and error, mostly. A bit from my family and friends. and some from here and there like articles, colleagues, and the like.

You see, I took the red pill way before I knew its name, the community existed, I had access to the internet, or I even learned English.

I just could not see the promised results I wanted from the advices of other people, so I would make small experiments and trials to see the results of various variables. It got me very close to what is recognized as the red pill knowledge. After 5 or so years, that I could give it a name. The red pill. Before that I just called what can be translated as 'the harsh truth'.

Ages 5 - 20: Blue Pill

I was raised by a very hard feminist mother who often said all men are chauvinistic pigs (she was mainly referring to her bosses but failed to mention this to me). My dad is an extremely weak man who is also very left leaning and lacks typical "masculine traits". They had a horrible marriage full of fighting (mainly my mum shouting down my dad). I believed my dad just wasn't trying hard enough (although the harder he tried the worse the marriage got).

I would say my mother gave me most of my beliefs, but also I watched a lot of TV passively when she was watching her favourite shows like Sex and the City or Rom-coms. Generally society at large is mainly Blue Pill so being a low confident man I didn't question what societies expectations where. I thought it was just a matter of time to find my soul mate.

Ages 21 - 23: Red Pill

I discovered the mano-sphere and got into Red Pill ideology. Some of it good, a lot of it bad. I basically pushed in the opposite direction of what I was taught due to a growing resentment and cynicism of the world and what I had been mislead to believe. I became an ass hole and tried to emulate Dark Triad traits. My success with women improved a lot, but my family relations and friendships where strained as not many people enjoy spending time with a sociopath. I found the r/TheRedPill to be far too circlejerky and without anyone ever posting proof it was hard to determine whether or not any of it was real. I found better websites like GLL and Bold & Determined which where much more useful.

Ages 24-27: Black Pill

Despite my success with women it still wasn't the level at which I wanted, and I still found dealing with women stressful and energy draining. After extensive research into online dating, and learning more about statistics and the Pareto distribution it seemed like the Black Pill was really the only answer, being that women are only attracted to the most attractive males in their vicinity, and with the invention of online dating it meant every women had a male model within their vicinity. I mean it's no secret most men struggle with women, 80/20 rule (except it's closer to 98/2 rule on tinder).

This phase of my life I focused solely on my looks. I'm already 6'3" but I really upgraded my wardrobe, got into model shape, grew a beard, started doing skin treatments and regular grooming. It definitely helped but women still weren't effortless. It was hard not to become bitter and resentful at the harsh preferences of women, I could get a date any day of the week, but not with girls I was terribly excited to meet.

My views where heavily influenced by MGTOW, r/incels, r/braincels and r/blackpillscience as well as my own findings from maximising my tinder profile.

Ages 28 - Present: White Pill

I've entered a new age I'm calling the white pill. I realistically view the world and the evolutionary motivations of women. I accept women for their downfalls but also much more appreciate their feminine gifts. Women are attracted to wealth and looks, but I also believe they are attracted to a strong masculine spirit, and women naturally gravitate towards a man who is on the right path in life, is slaying his dragons and progressing towards self actualisation. Any resentment I hold towards anyone I understand as a defect of my own personality, and that the way to defeat resentment is with gratitude. I accept that the majority of women will not be attracted to me, but that is no issue for me because I know I only need one to have a relationship with. I believe Men on this path are the men that the red pill try to mimic, but it misses the mark by not fully integrating all that is required.

I owe most of this new belief to Jordan Peterson, who got me interested in the subject of psychology. Since then I have been assessing myself with psychological tools, as well as assessing my friends and families. I have consolidated and repaired my old relationships and have even been able to enlighten my father and mother and pull them out of their own resentment to a degree. It inspired me to seek out a therapist who specialises in masculinity and to reconnect with my martial arts practise and the teachings of my sensei.

Really Peterson helped me view everything that has happened in my life up to this point through a different lens. Not one of "How the world has wronged me" but instead as "How have I wronged the world", after this everything began to fall into place.

I do believe my journey represents the hierarchy of truth.

Blue Pill: Low resolution propaganda adopted by idle minds. Blindly accepted as truth (Denial of reality).

Red Pill: An awakening usually driven by resentment and desperation. Those who come to the red pill are pushed there by their blue pill lives falling apart. Is able to see a new way of thinking but has to keep itself away from things that are vaguely blue pill. (Anger at reality).

Black Pill: A full acceptance of the scientific literature surrounding attraction and the nature of the world. Becoming aware of the social, romantic and culture hierarchies. Realising that you exist at the bottom of the majority of the hierarchies. (Depression about reality).

White Pill: Full acceptance of your human limitations, but still deciding to take on the challenge of meaningfully engaging in the world. The dissolution of the ego, of resentment, expedience and dishonesty. Seeking gratitude, duty and sincerity with the world. Moving past your ego and looking to take on the challenge of the much deeper, darker parts of the mind. (Acceptance of reality)

Not everyone has to go through this process, I think it's possible to go straight from Blue to White or even to be born on the path of the White Pill.

both my parents are from a third world country that doesn’t really value women so much. while my mother has always held the belief that she is a person and should be treated as such, my dad is incredibly sexist. my parents divorced early in my childhood, and as the only daughter and only female figure in my dad’s life, he targeted all his sexism at me. when it comes to these things, i always have my mother’s support (i mean, go figure) so luckily, i didn’t internalize it. i just became really fed up with sexist men. some will roll their eyes at me, but if someone doesn’t consider themselves a feminist (even after i read them the dictionary definition of feminist), i will feel strongly compelled to stop being their friend. the media (including social media) portrays feminists in a totally different light that what we really are. at the end of the day, you’re a feminist or you’re sexist, no in between.

it’s been said time and time again, but to complete my answer, TRP is sexist. so i don’t really fuck with that.

I interacted with men and watched other women who did.

I grew up sort of isolated from men bc of a traditional community that segregated the sexes a lot.

It wasn't until getting out into the "real world" that reality smacked me in the face of just how much of mankind is genuinely, truly driven by a desire to see women suffer, hurt, cry.

I realized that men's minds are not capable of empathy or concern for women, how even women who were kind, pleasant, did everything "right", still got abused, manipulated, brutalized.

I thought at first that "beta" boys were different, but time proved that wrong.

When men see kindness in women - when they see innocence, sweetness, gentleness - they have an overwhelming urge to destroy and crush it. I don't want any part of people like that.

Life. My parents gave me my initial set of beliefs, then I set about replacing them with what I learned from society and experience and reasoning.

Purple I guess?

Personally reddish in that I prefer my husband to be masculine and to lead, but that is also tied up with our BDSM dynamic. I do see a fair few AWALT type traits in myself, particularly in terms of dread, hamstering, comfort/shit tests. However, I do believe it is possible for people to find true love and happiness and be loyal even if they aren't attractive.

But socially more blue. I don't believe AWALT as a rule. I don't think using dread or negging is a healthy way to treat people. I believe in people having choices. However, I do see quite a bit of AWALT in women I know, and I think hook up culture is cringey and can't fathom why people would do it.

Where did it come from? I don't know. My parents marriage was a shitshow. He very much was his own point of origin, gave very little of a damn about his kids, cheated on My mum twice and one of those times told me about the other women before telling my mum. He also destroyed my self confidence with his constant criticisms. My grandparents stayed together even though they hated each other because he got her pregnant in the 1940s and they had to marry.

I never witnessed a loving healthy marriage. It made me determined to have one of my own.
