Honestly sooo many movies and tv shows depict this as the norm nowadays. For women in their 20s it's really pushed on us.

I'd say it's been the norm since TV was invented.

Having sex and sharing trauma is a great way for women to get sucked in and strung along with no commitment.😞

at any cost, avoid sharing as much as possible if you have any childhood trauma, or any trauma at all unless its really necessary. i told my ex boyfriend that i got raped at an early stage, turned out he started to fetishise it and wanted to re create the events i experienced because «he was so jealous that my rapist could do those things and not him». my mistake was to trust to soon without knowing the dude, believing sharing early would be a good thing. now i have told my current boyfriend about my rape trauma, but havent told any details around it because firstly, he doesnt need to know what excatly happened. secondly, i do it for my own safety.
if you need for some reason to share your trauma history, avoid the details as much as possible. some men thinks the details are a «turn on» for them and that could be dangerous for you. a true, loving and affectionate partner doesnt want and feel the need to know the details of your trauma.
i dont know how many men have started to fetishise my rape trauma, pretended to care when they ask about the details, only for me to figure out they f**king masturbated to it with their ugly dicks.
also, i would never ever imagine to have sex with someone the first time i meet them. all things could go wrong. i want a man to really fight for me, to show he is interested in me and not my body. by giving a man my body the second i meet them, they have got what they wanted and doesnt feel the need to get to know me. a man that expects sex on first date is in my opinion a LVM. a HVM wouldnt rush sex at all, because a HVM care about YOU, your comfort and safety, not how fast he can make you have sex with him.
everything with that post is wrong.
[–]holographic_kittenFDS Newbie 102 points103 points104 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Also if the man is a predator himself it’s like a wild animal smelling blood. They’ll think you’re wounded and thus easy prey. Better to not reveal until you are truly in the deep trust long term zone with a HVM and even then I would not go into detail
[–]sjefsiljuuusFDS Newbie 19 points20 points21 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Its sickening how some men are knowingly looking after women with some kind of trauma they can abuse because they believe the women are wounded. Somehow, it justifies for those men that if a woman has a trauma, its okay to abuse her. I agree. I only shared with my current boyfriend now because I couldnt hide the fact that it had happened due to the ptsd symptoms showing, and after a while I started to go to therapy to prosess everything. I believe he is the only I have showed romanticly interest in that has never asked me "what happened excactly?", or acted like a wild animal when I told him. He has said its not his place to ask those questions, he doesnt feel the need to know the details at all, he wants me to share whatever I feel comfortable sharing, he just appericiates that he knows (so he is able to take better care of me).

I feel if I had know FDS years ago, things would be different. On the other hand, those experiences has learned me a lot, while at the same time I find myself sad for that I had to experience them. If I hadnt experienced it, I wouldnt be the person I am today (a lot of therapy has given me a lot of time to reflect) and maybe I wouldnt have known about FDS at all. If I am silent, they get away and can hurt another women. If I speak up, I would be more than happy if just 1 person read my comment and found it useful.
Thank you so much for your support, I am happy I can share here where I feel safe to do so. I have my life in order now, I dont feel the need to live my life after the wish of some man. Instead I live my life like I want to, trying to not let my experiences affect it too much, do everything I can to heal and not go trought that again (I know it wasnt my fault to begin with, but I know more about red flags than before). That I found my current boyfriend is something I would say is a plus, and a bigger plus that he is a HVM.
[–]Hedy__LamarrFDS Apprentice 111 points112 points113 points 5 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Sharing experiences like yours is so important for FDS. The idea that a man could fetishise something so terrible and traumatic that happened to someone they supposedly care about is eye opening. I just cannot fathom being that depraved and devoid of empathy. But now I know. It's scary to think of what else I don't know.
I'm convinced that in the dark recesses of their minds, most men are irredeemable as human beings. What they say out loud or act upon is only the tip of the iceberg.
[–]fdssavedmylifeFDS Newbie 13 points14 points15 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
If you asked me a year ago if I thought seemingly normal, functional men could jerk off thinking about their partner’s rape or painful labor, I’d be horrified. Now it seems run of the mill. Props to whoever has the ability to trust men after seeing stuff like this, because I certainly don’t. I couldn’t invent a man or relationship that’s worth the risk of being exploited like that again.
[–]sjefsiljuuusFDS Newbie 8 points9 points10 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I feel you, I was the same years ago. I find it really hard to trust men in general, even when I have a boyfriend now. I have kind of decided to not share my trauma anymore with anyone, enough people close to me know what happened, and I dont see the point in sharing it anymore. If me and my boyfriend ended it one day, and I found a new boyfriend, I would never tell him my trauma. He could be a HVM, but at this point I dont feel I benefit at all if I share my trauma to people IRL.
It is a huge risk to get involved with a man, however, I also believe that if we educate each other what we should look after and stay away from, that alone could do us a massive favour. Its sad that we have to do this, but if men are not going to change, we have to take extra action to secure ourselves.
[–]SouthernbelllleFDS Newbie 3 points4 points5 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Your last paragraph is everything! It’s sucks, but at the same time, it’s also kinda empowering.
[–]sjefsiljuuusFDS Newbie 4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Mens biggest threat and fear are women who knows they have power and feel empowered, thats why they want us to feel low about ourselves so they dont have to see how powerful us woman can be😉
[–]sjefsiljuuusFDS Newbie 6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
What makes me sad about this, is when I wrote it, it felt like I was talking about the weather. If a LVM chats me and try to manipulate me to share, I just think "oh not again". Sometimes I wonder if I have seen some of the worst sides of men, and it doesnt surprise me more that some men are like this at all. I find myself ask a lot where that darkness come from, what made them like that?
I could never believe that anyone would think my trauma was a turn on for them, so actually experiencing it has made me see that a lot of men does this so openly, not feeling shame, justifies it because its all about them and the need to get off. I find myself wonder if I am crazy for saying it, because no one really wants to believe anyone is able to be like that, right? On the other hand, I am scared it has become more normal for men to be like this, and I dont want anyone else to experience that you are in a voulnarable place and someone is taking advantage of you. Its hard, for a part of me thinks its somehow important to talk about your trauma, share what happened to you to the people close to you. Sadly, some people are going to use your trauma to hurt you even more only for their own benefit, and thats why I feel the need to advise to not share anything at all unless you know you have a longterm relationship with a HVM you genuinly trust. If at least 1 woman here feel more safer, I am more than glad to share my experiences. We women need to help and support each other, look out for each other as much as possible. Thats why I am glad FDS excists, because we do exactly that in here.

i told my ex boyfriend that i got raped at an early stage, turned out he started to fetishise it and wanted to re create the events i experienced because «he was so jealous that my rapist could do those things and not him».
WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK
WHAT
They genuinely think rape is the same thing as sex. I know there are men who fetishise virgins and if it turns out she was raped, they will not want her anymore. I am absolutely repulsed by men.
[–]sjefsiljuuusFDS Newbie 9 points10 points11 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I have met some of them, a lot of old friends (glad they are OLD friends now), have said to me that if their woman got raped, they would dump her because they couldnt stand the thought of knowing another man was inside her. I was like "what the actual fuck", but I got so paralyzed when I heard it and wasnt able to say anything. They were supposed to be my friends, and while they didnt know my trauma, only saying that, as a group of males with one woman is disgusting. Even saying it and believing it is discusting.
Rape is not, never has and will never be, sex. Rape is a horrible and damaging act where the rapist only does it for feeling more power over the victim, control, to humiliate the victim. Why cant men just learn this? If rape was sex, why is rape a criminal act alone, and a act people get jailed for? Ugh
[–]the-lonely-spirit 4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
JFC what animals!! It’s like you wiped your finger on the bottom of a barrel and the scum you scooped up were those men. Sending hugs your way for having to put up with that trauma and those horrible men. :(
I try to tell myself I was young, just a teenager that didnt know any better because no one told me and learned me this. People would describe me as naive if you asked them at that time what kind of person I was. I feel naive is the wrong word, but at the same time a little bit true. I have always wanted to believe there is somewhat any good in every one, and my abusers had and still have mental health issues, and since I had it as well, I knew how hard it could be and I wanted to be someone they could talk to etc. I didnt want people to feel alone with all those feelings, and I feel being kind and having a good heart has given me more hell than good.
Now, people describe me as cynical, too negative and they miss the old me. I couldnt care less tho, I dont feel cynical or too negative, I am still kind and help those close to me. The difference is that when you see too much darkness, you know its out there, and just being kind doesnt do anything. I feel more that I have "accepted" that there are darkness out there, and that I dont want any of it to reach me and my life. But, by also "accept" that there are his darkness out there, I feel its easier to talk about it to share my experience, and to help others in the same situation.
Thank you for your support, I am luckily in a much better place now!

I'm so sorry, this reminds me of the show Alias Grace, how the men in the show fetishized the abuse Grace went through, even her doctor "dc Simon" who is shipped with her because he "cared" for her despite him raping a woman right after realizing that he could never control Grace and how she described him in her letters to him "as a dog with its tongue hanging" whenver she'd tell him about her abuse. Same with her shitty husband who asks her to describe in details her treatment as a form of foreplay before he beds her. Alias grace is an amazing show based on a book by margaret atwood (the author of the male fantasies, males fantasies quote) really good show

This is why all women need things like FDS! Sex is damn near required on the menu with real intimacy and investment being a la carte or not offered at all.
I blame dating apps & glamorization of hook up culture in music, tv, and the media convincing women it’s ok to have sex without regarding or knowing the real risks and negatives women face as sex IS high-risk-low-reward for us.
Once you know it’s like wtf!...we’re abusing ourselves by sleeping with these losers!
HIGH Rewards: Possible orgasm, more high quality dates/courtship
LOW Rewards: No orgasm, icky/used feeling, slut reputation, wasted effort/time, sexual assault, need STD test?, pregnancy, discovered weird kink, lowered self esteem, no call back, a FWB offer to join his current rotation of oncall pickmes 🤡
Men sleep with as many women as possible before aging out of their preferred sexual group then marry some woman to have his kids, but still mistreat and/or cheat on her because they don’t see women as people.
Men who continue to age & don’t marry but seek younger women are much worse. There is almost always something sinister in their psychology. Ask me how I know.
***If you’re horny, get a clit vibrator that uses air suction (OMFG) or upgrade to a newer technology vibrator period, note the feeling WILL pass, then remember men are out here to use ANY body. They don’t care about treating you well, getting STD tests, & lie about most things.

Sometimes I thank heavens for my ugliness and low self esteem in teen years so I thought I was unworthy of love so I should rather focus on studies. Then I was so goal oriented, when these LVMs were there and I was feeling something with them, I ended it quickly because I had goals to achieve 😎
Except for 1 LVX, I think I dodged many bullets that way.
[–]kinkardineFDS Newbie 11 points12 points13 points 5 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link
I used to think I am ugly during my teens, but later that became my greatest strength in filtering people, now at 33, I do feel being ugly did me more good than bad- all my friends and relationships are solid- they came here not to be in the league with beautiful/charismatic person but for me, they love me, and they stayed through thick and thin, they know exactly what to do or say when my world shatters.. I can hold conversation about the things I truly value rather than some superficial stuff. My li’l brother and best friend (girl) was on the top of the desired circle, they were pretty, with good academic profile and attractive personality- somehow they were crowded with so many fake friends who actually did not care for them, the people they chose to love were never the people who loves them back but just want validation, their friends were so flaky, and although their social media was full with cool hang out pictures with friends they were literally drowning with backstabbing drama all the time.
Being goal oriented is so necessary, one common thing between me and my friends are we all have our own agenda.. so somewhat loner..no one walks on our path and we refuse to change our path just to be included with some one who does not consider our dreams.
You are in right path, embrace it and do not bend for anyone. Making yourself priority is the nicest thing you can do. Even if you find someone keep your financial profile strictly separate from any scratch of relationship.
[–]thecrazywitch31FDS Newbie 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeaahhh. However I still came across my LVX which pretty much messed me up read bad, but compared to the experiences my prettier friends have had, the are nothing, really. I was just as clueless as my friends about the kind of men that were out there, but I just received less attention because I was ugly. I also got wayyy less sexually harassed and stalked.
Although It wasn't like me being focused on my goals is like a byproduct of ugliness lol 😂 I've been topper at school even before I started getting conscious about my looks and had been a avid reader. It's just like my hormones were shooting up and I wanted attention from boys but I couldn't ( i did from some but i wasnt interested in very lvm and getting into a top college and then starting dating seemed a good option 😂) so it was one less distraction.
I didn't get into a good college, and I also had my LVX but currently I'm back on the track again and have a good Bf so life is sorted for now.
Thank you for your advice and listening to my whole rant though 😂 I love y'all here
[–]thecrazywitch31FDS Newbie 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yeah it happens. I also had come across a lot of fake people for whom I was DUFF ( designated ugly fat friend) but you attract what you think of yourself.. Right now I have great friends too.. But attractive people come across a hell lot more fake people.
It's good knowing that when you're ugly, you can see the real face of people.

Yikes, the disastrous "bait and switch" Pickmeisha tactic: feign fancy-free acceptance of no strings fling, hope he'll eventually develop dependency/attachment, eat shit until he does so; continue to eat shit if he does commit as per tacit contract. That's about as good as it gets though mostly men just hump, dump and move on.
Watching someone wander into the trap is like white-knuckling through the part of a nature program where the careless ibex wanders too far from the herd and you can tell by the suspenseful music that the animal is about to get attacked and eaten by a pack of bearded vultures.
