I’ve always wondered why so many people in serious long term relationships seem to accept that things like social media on the part of their partners are just an unchangeable fact of life.

Though this applies to both men and women, I have noticed this far more with women - one, in terms of the disproportionate opportunities they generally have to act on such a desire or impulse, and two, the typical position of “I shouldn’t have to get rid of my Instagram/insert similar thing here”.

It’s always been puzzling to me as to why anybody who values their relationship would willingly expose themselves to a greater degree of external temptation. I’d like to hear others thoughts on this point.
