I'm betting that a lot of women wouldn't have imagined their current partner as who they thought they'd end up with, or who they would have preferred to be with, yet they're satisfied or at least content anyway.

What does that say? It says that people idealize who they would like but aren't immune to the complexities of attraction and the pre-programming of evolutionary mechanisms in the brain that have helped us survive as a species.

Women fantasize about men like these and say they won't accept anything less while sitting alone on the couch or lying in their beds but then end up with men like these. It really does show that women's preferences are sky-high when imagining who they want to be with.

I've said before that mismatched couples tend to meet through mutual friends while more looks-matched couples are more likely to have been strangers who met in a mutual commonplace beforehand, like a bar, club, some other social gathering, or OLD.

Familiarity or similarity is a main component of attraction so even if a person is infatuated by someone's appearance, it's not going to guarantee or maintain attraction if they are too dissimilar from each other, and that is why attractive people can still end up with someone less visibly attractive than they are and not have an issue with it.

Personally, I think that physical appearance is less important of a trait in determining compatibility, but most people seem to almost conflate physical attraction with "love" and "romance."

Anyway, I'll end it there before I get too far off-topic, so without further ado, I ask you to just bring it.
