They want a woman that cooks and cleans for them, yet they are completely forgetting that nowadays most women have jobs too. So they want a traditional woman to cook, clean and take care of all the household responsibilities while working a job and paying half of the rent?
But if she doesn’t work a job and they live off of his salary, aka the traditional way, she’s a golddigger.
Make it make sense.

Idk if that makes sense I just really despise those people
[–]BrickDaddyShark 6 points7 points8 points (2 children) | Copy Link
Rights should not be respective of ones actions. Thats how we get things like how slavery is still technically allowed.
Rights are things that all people should always have, things like access to a fair court or autonomy of your body, access to food and clean water and opportunities to thrive without being discriminated against. What you are thinking of are privileges, which are not protected.
Privileges are things we give other people, such as our affection, our time, and our space. A kkk member should have all his or her rights, but he/she is not entitled to be your friend, come to your house, or talk to you.
The moment we forget that human rights are for everyone, they cease to be rights and become privileges afforded only to those we deem worthy.

The rights to what? I'm sick of people describing whatever they're pushing for as "rights". It's often a manipulation tactic which only makes it so you can't make a stance against something 'cause suddenly out of nowhere there's a guy saying "but being against the rights (rights to fucking what?) of a group is awful!!!1!".
Nah, it's not awful. I heard pedophiles describe the fact that child can't give lawful consent as "lack of rights". Is being against this set of "rights" of a group awful?
[–]BrickDaddyShark 2 points3 points4 points (0 children) | Copy Link
I’m not pushing for anything here, so I didn’t define “rights” or “group”. All I am saying is that categorically being against groups of people is something that only those with a lack of empathy or an abundance of ignorance can reasonably do.
Even with pedophiles, they suffer from a mental condition and need medical help. If you were to be “against pedophile rights” you would be against their right to receive that help. This model would likely lead to more children being attacked because without their right to medical care, the people who are aware of their affliction could not treat it. This doesn’t mean I support any right for any group and your assertion that it does is as you say “manipulative”
So in summary, the above mentioned subreddits are both bad due to their dismissal of broad strokes of the human race. When another commenter asked why one was banned I said that it was because that subreddit was doing something abhorrent, mostly to point out that reddit didn’t care about the actual abhorrence when they left one up but kept the other, being that they are about the same thing.
How about you take a stance? I don’t exactly have much to argue here because you are just “sick” of “people” talking about “rights” which is rarely what people talk about. Maybe as a slogan but the actual conversations are about actual issues, which do not fall prey to the generalizations of group rights. Give me an example of what you are sick of so that I can give a better explanation.

I have a question tho, can you talk about men's rights without mentioning women's rights? Because if the ideology of men's rights is rooted in the idea that "feminism created men's issues", then you are inherently against other group's rights. It would be hypocritical to complain about something that it's just factual. I'm not arguing. I'm genuinely wondering what's the logic. It's much simpler to just own it for what it is and move along. Most people would agree that it's innacurate to compare men and women's rights as if they are on in the same. Those groups face very different challenges and need very different approaches. So it's not like comparing both movements is a fair comparison. If it's not a fair comparison, how is it a double standard? Context matters. If a group that claims to "fight for rights" is in itself opposed to other people's rights, how is it going to complain when someone else is against them? It doesn't make any sense.
[–]CalligrapherMinute77 10 points11 points12 points (9 children) | Copy Link
A lot of ppl downvoted you but nobody answer. My answer is: you’re wrong, men’s rights are not rooted in the idea of taking away women rights, and they are neither rooted in the idea that feminism created men problems.
A lot of factors such as male suicide and violence aren’t inherently related to women.
But even if indeed feminism had created most of men’s problems (which it hasn’t), it would not be the female rights that are the issue but rather how feminist behaviour has become toxic in the pursuit of female rights.
In that sense, it’s not opposed to women rights even if your assumption were correct (which it isn’t).
Finally, there is a double standard because women are freely bashing on men every other day (under the justification that we live in a sort of oppressive patriarchy and men are the bad guys so we can offend and shit on them). Againstmenrights still stands. But men aren’t allowed to bash on women like that, as is proven by the satirical sub being taken down. Make of all this what you will.
[–]Sad_Quote_3415 -3 points-2 points-1 points (8 children) | Copy Link
Making this into a gender war won't solve anything. Bad people exist, regardless of gender. There will always be people who are toxic. It's not a female or a male trait. Patriarchy severely affects men and it's the root of most of their issues. Yet, y'all don't wanna believe it's real for some reason. It's not a conspiracy theory. There's so much evidence. Saying that we live in a patriarchy isn't the same as saying that "men are bad". It's a system, it's not about individuals. I'm pretty sure y'all know that gender roles hurt everyone. Same with stereotypes and generalizations. So why is it hard to believe that there is a systemic issue? A social issue? The patriarchy is an ancient system that sets men as the "default human". It's not that men are bad, it's that women are simply forgotten. If it was never dismantled, then how could it be just gone? Most people would agree that at least until the start of the sexual revolution, women were property. From a historical pov, it doesn't make sense for such an old system to just disappear completely, in so little time. With minimal reform.
Any group that doesn't value actual discussions, critical thinking, and it's not open to understanding different povs, is a dangerous one. Being downvoted everytime you are contrary to the group think is concerning.
What society needs is understanding and solutions, not divide. And boys are growing up to despise women because they get radicalized in the manosphere. They desperately need good role models, but more and more women raise children alone. It's not helpful to simply claim that the system is biased in favor of women, without understanding the implications and doing qualitative research on it.
Sure anger and contempt can make you feel like you have control. But in reality, you end up not solving anything because you aren't really open to understanding, from a logical and scientific view, what actually goes on to cause those issues.
I often see MRAs talking about how toxic feminism is, but there are so many branches of feminism. Like so fucking many. And feminists don't agree amongst themselves because their views are so different from one another.
Misandry can be annoying af. But men do bash women, and harass them, and rape them, and kill them. And that comes from hatred. Hate fuels hate. And that's the path you choose with gender wars. If we live in a world together, there's no point in stepping on each other.
Thanks for replying

You had me until you said this. The so-called 'Patriarchy' does not exist. It's a feminist boogeyman euphemism for all men
Where's the evidence?
Yes we do. You and most feminists, however, are blaming it on all men by saying a so-called 'Patriarchy' is causing it
And that is why we don't and have never lived in one. Society and the animal kingdom in general are gynocentric. The female must always be protected even if it's at the expense of the male. The only exception I can think of is seahorses as that's the only animal species in which the male gives birth not the female
Because it never existed in the first place. That's why
Feminist historical revisionism
Again, because it never existed in the first place. Even if it did, it was destroyed about 100 years ago when women got the right to vote (10 years after all men and they are also exempt from the draft)
Congrats, you've just described feminism in a nutshell!
Not my experience as I was in there for about a year. Most manosphere men don't hate women. They're indifferent
It is when you consider 77% of the black community is raised by single mothers. It is when you consider that, in the vast majority of child custody cases, 90% of full custody goes to the woman. Boys do need good male role models but the evidence is already there and you're contradicting yourself by saying more and more women are raising children alone but that it's not helpful to say the system is biased towards women
So like feminism when it comes to mens issues then?
And yet, surprise surprise, not one of them is for men and not one of them calls out blatant misandry and instead performs damage control
Annoying? Misandy kills!
And women don't do the same to men?
Well done. You just described feminism again
Which you clearly have no want to do given how you've just blamed all of mens issues on other men and then proceeded to victim-blame throughout the entirety of your paragraph without even trying to understand what you're talking about
[–]CalligrapherMinute77 0 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Thanks for the very accurate reply to her, I think you did a great job at addressing all her points in a concise way.
One small point “most manosphere men don’t hate women they’re indifferent”. -> I would say most manosphere men love women, they hate neo-feminists.

The rest of what you said is very agreeable: you’re advocating for collaboration and discussion, not anger and aggression. If you scroll through this sub, you’ll see many posts where men talk about being more supportive to each other, and where they also talk about supporting equality with women. Scroll through most feminist subs (which tend to be neo-feminist) and you’ll see that there is very little such empathy being shown to the opposite sex... men just seem to be intrinsically less self-cantered and this ends up harming them more than women emotionally because they will go out of their way to defend others but maybe won’t be able to defend themselves. All that most men rights groups do is basically say “yo Holmes you keep on defending others and I’ll defend you. We’ll defend each other reciprocally even if nobody else will, until we become strong enough that we can defend ourselves”.
Btw: I recommend you check Reveddit because you replies to my comment but I didn’t see the answer until I went back to look at the comment bc of some “10 upvotes” notification. There's a huge difference between a woman wearing a bikini in public without her man around and a man wearing a speedo without his woman around. You're basically trying to say that men and women are equal when that's anything but true. The average man, even if he is attractive, is invisible to the average woman, who can easily get God knows how many guys checking her out. Women are born with value while men have to build their value.

She should be trying to actively avoid the attentions of other men, if she wants exclusivity like a good traditional woman

A traditional man would employ other men to do so. Like men for the longest time, since even the most ancient of civilisations have. Sure some men make their own houses but many traditional men indirectly build their houses by paying for them.

But modern feminism is a straight up lie that has told women that they can do whatever they want without consequences and that they deserve everything because you're a woman and all women are good, all men are evil.
[–]foxyramirez 14 points15 points16 points (5 children) | Copy Link
You're purposefully flying off the handles here. Dudes don't want their girls advertising their bodies like they're still available.
How about I construct an argument in which I frame up women as controlling because they don't want their men taking Friday nights at the bar or strip club? Surely under your logic, you'd agree.

[–]foxyramirez 9 points10 points11 points (0 children) | Copy Link
So you do understand the concept?
I mean, it seems like an implicit respect for your partner that should be able to go unsaid. Further, while relationships should be equal, they don't necessarily have to be equitable, and usually aren't. The traditional division of family labor is still just as viable as the modern incarnation, which I should note, harbors far higher rates of divorce.
[–]Remrito 9 points10 points11 points (0 children) | Copy Link
I dont agree with everything that's been said, but I will explain in a polite manner my views. If the lady I am with is a SAHS/SAHM I expect certain things in return as a mutual respect for one another. If im working all day busting my butt pulling 10-12 hour shifts and 8s on Saturdays, I expect my house to stay picked up, the laundry finished, and to at least have dinner ready for me when I ask -I enjoy cooking and feeding people with my culinary talent an no im not a professional chef-.
If non of these are accomplished, then yes I have every right to be upset, as I spent my whole day toiling while the lady im with lounges around at home.
My reality is different as my lady does in fact work. I help when she asks since she has a certain way she likes things done. I'm set in my ways so she usually has to fix what I do if I place something somewhere she doesn't want it. I also believe it takes two to keep a happy and healthy relationship, where there is mutual respect for each other. If a woman doesn't respect working together an wants just a free ride then by all means. The doors open an bags will be packed ready for you to leave immediately.

Weird, you get the concept when it benefits women but not when it benefits men.
I wonder if there is some *ism for that....

If a dude wears a speedo to the beach at most he's going to get hit on by gay guys.
Even if he's an Adonis he is not going to get more than maybe some sultry looks from women.
If a female wears something that advertises her body without her BF there, unless she's putting out some clear resting bitch face "leave me alone" vibes, she is going to get alot more attention from men.
Women don't approach men, I mean it happens but at a rate of like 0.1% compared to men approaching women.

I'm sick of hearing women complain about wanting a "traditional Man" when they aren't even willing to be a traditional woman.
They want a Man that pays and provides for them, yet they are completely forgetting that nowadays most Men have limits too. So they want a traditional Man to pay, provide and take care of all the financial responsibilities while emotionally comforting and sexually satisfying them all the time and doing half of all household responsibilities too?
But if he works every day and provides for most or all of their lifestyle, aka the traditional way, he'll still end up being "not Man enough" or "not good enough" or "unromantic" or "Beta Male" or some dumbass reason or bullshit of an excuse so the woman can break-up 'feeling' that she deserves better and her high on hypergamy mind will tell her that she can and will find a better Man with a more wholesome package.
I'll make it make sense: Almost all of you want a Disney fantasy to come true. A fantasy wherein he's both alpha and masculine at times and soft and submissive at your convenience. A fantasy wherein he takes charge and leads and also where he follows your commands and surrenders to your leadership. A fantasy wherein he treats you as an equal when you want and pedestalizes you at your wish. A fantasy wherein he's masculine selectively and you're feminine at your convenience. A fantasy wherein you are cooperative and obedient when it suits you and ultimately refuse to care what a Man wants or values because it's all about you.
So basically, you want it all. Yet based on your current attitude and past behavior regarding Men, you deserve nothing. How's that for some sense?

No. Slaves exist. They want a slave that also takes charge if they want them to. Which the master/slave is supposed to figure out by reading her mind.
Of course, this is the extreme I'm describing here. Most women have a bit more rationality than that, though the current discourse doesn't help. That's slowly starting to change, even if it has to get worse before it gets better.
[–]LastRounder -1 points0 points1 point (0 children) | Copy Link
You know, I understand now, why in middle ages if woman was sleeping over too loudly, she would be having a huge problems with society's authorities such as Chirch and Ruling body. And I understand now, why prostitutes, not tied to brothels, were often banished from medevial cities.
And why, when a guy sleeps with many women, than he is considered a stud, while girls doing the same will end up being a whore. That had very practical reasons behind it.
"Progressive liberal age" made sleeping over okay for women. But looks like decrease in slut shaming without any institution, that took charge of society's morals, was not so good idea after all.

Lol, no clue where this idea that traditional women did not work came from.
They did, they worked the farm in rural areas, they worked in factories in cities, they secretarial work, they did admin work, they were nurses in hospitals, teachers in grade schools, they taught sunday school to kids. Even the stay at home mom's back then still made all kinds of arts, crafts and baked goods that they sold to other in their community out their house running small businesses. In WW2, you seen they had women building airplanes when their husbands were overseas in war in the army, they were doing all kinds of work and jobs.
Modern women just got lazier and lazier and don't want to do the duties of past women.
[–]chocoboat 52 points53 points54 points (6 children) | Copy Link
Upper middle class women didn't work. You know, the ones everyone saw on TV, so they assume the whole world is like that.
Similar to how some people see upper class white people on TV and assume all white people have multimillionaire parents with connections that can get them a six figure job out of college guaranteed, regardless of how competent they are.
Eh, I don't know about the lazy part. They're working and making money too, and that's a good reason to not want to have to do all the housework too. I think the biggest difference is that men (on average) have better adapted to the world changing and don't expect their wife to have a spotless house and a home cooked meal waiting for them when they get home... but women (on average) haven't let go of the idea that men should be the providers, buy them gifts and pay for everything, while they're both making the same income.
[–]White_Mlungu_Capital 9 points10 points11 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Women claim it is oppression to do all the housework, but if their husband leaves them, they still do all the housework and go to work. So they are worse off because now a man is in the picture, gimme a break. Women are expected to do the housework, because they have the privilege of running the house, running up the bills on the decor, the drapes, rugs, and all that. Sure some upper class white women didn't work, they essentially acted as mini-estate managers and of course are well compensated for it by getting their husbands entire pensions (like Mike Gravel who died poor despite serving 2 terms in the senate but his ex-wife got all of his congressional pension) and they get all their husbands wealth when he kicks the bucket before her, as they prefer to marry older men.
[–]thatusenameistaken 13 points14 points15 points (3 children) | Copy Link
That's just a damn myth. They magically select away what counts as housework, I've seen it in my sisters and their husbands. They also massively overestimate how long and how time intensive things like laundry are.
[–]chocoboat 11 points12 points13 points (1 child) | Copy Link
There's nothing mythical about not wanting to do all of the housework in addition to your job while your SO does none of it. Neither men or women are OK with that.

Yup, my friend from a 3rd world country came here, and said he was surprised by how lazy Western women are, their job is so easy, they don't wash a dish in the West like in the developing world, women wash dish and clothes by hand. IN West, machine wash clothes, dry clothes, wash dish, dry dish, and the kids and nanny and daycare and day camp raise the kid, not the mother, he told me he was surprised about how lazy Western women is and was confused as to what they do at home all day if machine do all the work. He even ask me what do Western women do at home all day, is there a machine that fold clothes?

Can we address the elephant in the room? I understand that you want a traditional man and that's okay. However, you can't just gloss over the fact that women have engaged in a concerted effort to dismantle all of these traditions as being oppression against women. We will not gloss over the fact that women have engaged in this effort for at least forty years.
So, before we even get into what kind of man i am or not: If the traditional way of doing things is oppression are you saying that you would rather be oppressed? Was there some realization that illuminates the idea that traditional living is not oppression? What traditions exactly do you intend for me to follow? Are you also going to hold yourself to a traditional standard? Traditionally speaking, is your hymen still intact?
So lets speak plainly. You don't want a traditional man. What you want is a cuckold who will pay for everything. I do not believe that you will be capable of expressing gratitude if you found such a man because you act like you're entitled to his resources, and you haven't even met him yet. You will not be faithful because your moral compass in any given moment only points to what you desire in that moment. Right now, your desire is to be able to live with a degree of financial security. Instead of using the intelligence and strength you were born with to obtain the financial security you desire you create a false virtue that claims the problem is men not being willing to give you the financial security that you feel you're entitled to. I guess that's a modicum better than women who use various forms of flesh peddling instead of an actual career that allows them to be valued for more than their body; but hey, the ends justify the means don't they?

This is the only solace I can claim, after having made nearly every mistake man could make on the road of commitment to women. Even if one man could hear my words and be dissuaded from slow walking that road to the slaughterhouse, then the things I've suffered have not been in vain. Much better if I could somehow guarantee my sons will not fall into the trap.

Lol, what did they expected?
Traditional woman is caring, kind, empathetic, faithful, takes time to look good, because she likes it, her husband likes it and also she represents their family in society. She likes kids and loves them, she is willing to be self-sacrifital if it is needed for her family. She is very responsible and does a lot of work to promote her family in society, not mentioning all that she does to support her family from inside.
Now let's look on modern "woke" women.
That vverweight, gross, capricious, slutty, demanding, selfish, irresponsible spoiled lazy children.
They are almost 100% contradiction of the idea what is "traditional" woman. In fact, though proclaiming to be "liberated" and "progressive" they seem to look like degenerates when compared to "most opressed" traditional women. They do not worth of a toenail of True Southern Lady of old, but demand traditional men.

This is a typical bait and switch that expects men to fulfil the so called traditional male roles of protector, provider, romancer, mechanic, handyman, thug squad, that includes deferring to women in issues of reproduction and child raising (the expereince of men has never been limited to these strawman gender roles), while also fulfilling the nebulous but invariably gynocentric feminist inspired neo-masculinity roles that revolve entirely around the lives and experiences of women.
In reality and historically, most men and women share roles between genders more than feminists are willing to admit. The day to day demands of necessity push all these metro/marxist ideological gender bending mind games into the waste basket of useless sexual politics. People get on with work, life and love, because men and women, men and men, women and women, people have more in common than they are different, and life is too short to waste on power games thought up by disaffected sociopaths with expensive college degrees in how to hate.

Traditional means stereotypical in practice, and almost always stems from weird beliefs and disinformation spread by deeply religious groups. Nobody wants that apart from those groups that are still around, and even people in those groups change.
What men in general want that counts as actual traditional is affection, love, respect, support and loyalty, the same as women, the basics of any monogamous relationship, men just don't talk about it much because they're ridiculed by women if they do.

Traditional man: works, pays for food/water/bills/clothes/child insurance, take care of wife (an adult) and kids, pay for food/dinner when going out, and be expected to lead, protect, and provide for everyone in the household.

Don't load a missile you're not willing to evade if the worst case scenario happens.
Marriage by far and by any metric is a far worse idea for men nowadays than it's ever been for women.

The Modern women who doesn't want to be traditional women have some serious disadvantages in their life's. 1+1=2 two parents two salaries two savings account two pensions you can't beat the maths for the best outcomes. Women will put off marriage and kids untill 30s and wonder why traditional men will pick the younger women in looks beauty purity and womb time. The 30s is the wall which these modern women panic because as their choices and options run out. Let these ladies do their own things because at 40 it's no man land. These women can't compete against the younger women and get butt hurt over it. Gentlemen keep your purpose as a man as your priority your pyschial emotional well-being work your ass off the more resources you have the more options you have with women

Rarely do i hear men complain about their wives working + doing household work. This is just a gaslighting argument trying to paint all men in a negative way. Obviously if both of you are working full time careers, then it's not a "traditional" relationship in the first place. Being traditional only happens when when theres a breadwinner and 1 source of income, the other person should work for the household
Never heard any man say she needs to work 40 hrs a week and clean the house
[–]YourFavouriteGuy 0 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Legit nobody said that
Nobody wants a traditional woman but also wants her to work
And she's not a gold digger unless she's marrying for purely the money (in which case she would divorce the man, not very traditional)
Fucking pure idiocy coming from r/TwoXChromosomes as usual
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points (53 children) | Copy Link
I don't exactly identify as traditional but I'm gonna make sure that any man who dates me doesn't wear speedos are take his shirt off around other women. It's advertising his body to other women.
Some people are gonna call me controlling but I just have certain expectations for men. I'm just having standards.
[–]asura227 3 points4 points5 points (29 children) | Copy Link
The saddest fact i can see from you. Is that your mind is absolutely closed off. Everything you've said is basically an opposite day take on what the regular commenters are saying.
I'm surprised that no one called you to task. First of all, you created a fake profile to stir up trouble in a subreddit via a cross-post. As far as i understand it, this is against the TOS of reddit.com(umm mods, why the fuck?).
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point (19 children) | Copy Link
Also I did not create a fake profile just to stir up trouble. My old profile was r/purplepilledbitch and I deleted it trying to quit my addiction to Reddit.
I have no other account. I just called this one a throwaway because it was supposed to be single use only and the use was to ask about this guy on Reddit who seemed sketchy. I was afraid he might try to talk to me again if he recognized me.
Then I realized I'd just rather keep this account because that guy was actually rather respectful of my decision to cut off contact with him and hasn't contacted me since. I am no longer afraid of him. And I'm too lazy to delete and create a new account.
And also, people deserve to know what people are saying about women on here. If people on this sub are saying women are the only ones that can be sluts and talk about women riding the cock carousel then I'm gonna call them the fuck out. This sub is not flawless and I am allowed to call out its flaws.
[–]asura227 7 points8 points9 points (18 children) | Copy Link
Your story is a yawn about men are bad. Not really surprising given everything else you've said. Believe all women; we don't do that here.
Women have said the same and a whole lot worse about men both here on Reddit and all over the internet with no censorship what so ever. If you feel we are in error then yes as a user of reddit you can say whatever you want. However, you're not perfect and I have the same ability to speak on Reddit as you do.
Before you cut with a sword, be prepared to be cut by one. Likewise, before you speak in this sub be prepared to be responded to. Your gender cannot and will not obligate our silence nor our capitulation.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points (17 children) | Copy Link
Which story was about men being bad? In every post I made about men it was about one specific man. Because facts are a few men have been shitty to me. Doesn't mean all are or have been.
Yes, I'm against Bill Cosby.
Yes, I'm against guys who act like only women can be sluts.
Yes, I'm against guys who tell me that because I'm a woman I shouldn't post here.
Yes, I'm against the guy who assaulted me.
Yes, I'm against the guy who pretended to be my friend while still being sexual towards me.
But I am not against all men. I am not a misandrist.
[–]asura227 2 points3 points4 points (16 children) | Copy Link
If you do not understand the connotations of the words you used, I will not waste my time explaining it to you. I expect a certain command of language from a person who attempts to speak on these subjects.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points (14 children) | Copy Link
What kind language do you want me to use?
Forgive me if I'm not particularly sophisticated with my words. I try to avoid generalizations in every post. I try to avoid saying just "men" at all unless it is to make a point. I always try to specifically address which man it is that I have a problem with to avoid offending men in general.
Tell me, what else can I do?
Or don't. You seem fed up to me. And I can't see what is wrong with anything I did on this post except that comment asking the person if he had asked his girlfriend how working full time and manning the house affected her. That definitely could've been handled better.
[–]asura227 1 point2 points3 points (13 children) | Copy Link
I cannot offer you forgiveness. It is the exclusive realm of the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive. As far as me being fed up, you're just making another negative assumption about a man. You're wrong.
I feel sorry for you. It was rich and connected men who financed and started women's liberation (the progenitor of feminism). Its original premise is a falsehood. With that battery in your back you and countless women have fought the good fight against men. Never realizing that we are two halves of the same whole. Without us, there can be no future. Biologically speaking humanity will go extinct without any scientific intervention. But would we still be human at that point? Or something else?
What you see here on this sub and nearly every other men focused forum is men being fed up with 3 generations of women blaming us for everything that ills them. 3 generations of ideas that have only resulted in the general degradation of the standard quality of life for men, women, and most notably children. You have been totally tricked and you refuse to acknowledge it.
I'll repeat what I've stated previously. Men do not want "traditional women". All we want is a woman with a low body count who is cute, feminine, and friendly to fuck us, feed us, and be our friend.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points (11 children) | Copy Link
But I replied to a man who literally said he wanted a traditional woman. I never said all men want a traditional woman.
[–]asura227 0 points1 point2 points (10 children) | Copy Link
Low body count. Cute. Feminine. Friendly. These are exactly the things that the women of yesteryear had to offer in exchange for the ring. Most women today don't even have that. You saw the word traditional and got hung up on housework and respecting the man as the head of his house.
[–]asura227 1 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
As far as what id like you to do? Educate yourself. Not because you're not intelligent (i don't believe that at all) but because if there is ever to be a point where conversations between men and women will be more than what we engaged in tonight; Its going to require women to come to the table with some understanding out side of the narrative they've been pushing for decades.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points (7 children) | Copy Link
What's wrong with reversing the genders. The title of the post is a reversal of genders.
[–]asura227 1 point2 points3 points (6 children) | Copy Link
I never said there was anything wrong with anything that has been said in this discussion. You won't get me to fall for your trap. The bottom line is you are not having a discussion in good faith. Your so called discussion style is equivalent to what one would expect from a child not yet graduated from primary school.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points (3 children) | Copy Link
So when OP reverses the genders that's in good faith but when I reverse the genders I'm acting in bad faith?
[–]asura227 2 points3 points4 points (2 children) | Copy Link
You've obviously chosen the hill on which you'd like to die. But im referring to more than just the reversal of genders. You've said more words than that.
I challenge you, make one constructive point to this conversation. One that does not place blame on men or accuse them of villainy.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points (1 child) | Copy Link
I never accused OP of villainy. I simply asked what the traditional woman things are and I got downvoted by 20 people. I was answered that it involves the woman "not advertising her body to men" and I didn't know what he meant so I asked for clarification and got downvoted 20 times again. I then took issue with him controlling what his girlfriend wears when she doesn't control him. And clearly, I wasn't the only one.
And I did give a constructive point, that both points (the one made in the title and the one made by the one in the crosspost) are valid. Men shouldn't want traditional woman if they aren't traditional themselves AND vice versa.
[–]asura227 2 points3 points4 points (0 children) | Copy Link
We cannot converse if you take my words and try to present them other than what i gave. I said:

What man do you see wearing speedos you weirdo. Men don't advertise the wayp women do. Men dont need attention the way women do. Look at Instagram and tell me who is craving validation. Hint: it ain't us.
[–]BrickDaddyShark 6 points7 points8 points (8 children) | Copy Link
Not sure why you are getting downvoted, having boundaries with your partner is fine.
Though if the context calls for it then you would be considered controlling. Ie: taking shirt off at a pool/beach party or wearing a speedo at a swimming competition. Think about if it were a man telling his girlfriend she couldn’t wear a two piece swim suit at the beach, or sportswear when exercising. Context is really key.
Moral of the ~ramble~ story: set boundaries, but don’t make them such that they are blind to context and inflexible. Think about how it would feel if he did the same for you.
[–]UnconventionalXY 4 points5 points6 points (3 children) | Copy Link
Boundaries are things you set for yourself, not for others.
[–]BrickDaddyShark -1 points0 points1 point (2 children) | Copy Link
You can set boundaries for what your partner can do in a relationship. If you are poly and your partner is monogamous they can say they won’t approve of you having multiple partners. If the other person doesn’t like them then you simply break up.
[–]UnconventionalXY 4 points5 points6 points (1 child) | Copy Link
No, you have no right to demand or coerce someone do something to suit yourself: you can ask them to, but it's totally up to them whether they comply.
A relationship is not going to work if you suddenly spring conditions on someone after the fact. Too many people enter into a relationship with the unrealistic expectation they have a right to change that person to better suit themselves.
Breakups are never simple: they are brutal and no way to develop a relationship by leaving important conditions unsaid until after it has started.
[–]BrickDaddyShark 3 points4 points5 points (0 children) | Copy Link
You know what boundaries are right? You talk to your partner and establish them as an agreement, no one is obligated to them.
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points (3 children) | Copy Link
Actually the point of this is to show how sexist it sounds to say your girlfriend can't wear bikinis around other men (as another Redditor did) by reversing the genders.
[–]BrickDaddyShark 0 points1 point2 points (2 children) | Copy Link
Well even with that, context is key. If you don’t want a partner that does that, thats fine. If you don’t want a partner who wears speedos in public (I do, just like em more) then it would be better to see other people than to stifle your feelings about it.
Hard rules about what should and shouldn’t be done in relationships will never work, it should be a conversation.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points (1 child) | Copy Link
How am I supposed to have a conversation when his reasoning for this choice in a relationship is that only women are sluts? How am I supposed to have a conversation when when I ask what he means by "clothing that advertises the body to other men" I get downvoted and told to just think about it.
Something makes me think some people don't want a conversation. They want someone to agree with them, no matter how sexist or misguided they sound.
[–]BrickDaddyShark 2 points3 points4 points (0 children) | Copy Link
No no I mean with your partner lol. Reddit is never going to be a place for a good conversation, too much anonymity combined with the fact that subreddits are automatic circle jerks.
The reality is that guys who act like that commenter are usually not worth sticking with, and you should just leave them. If he can find a girl who is ok with his demands then all the power to him.
[–]Luchadorgreen 5 points6 points7 points (1 child) | Copy Link
My wife would actually not want me to do that
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points (0 children) | Copy Link
She should only be able to do that if she also wears only what you want her to wear.
[–]asura227 1 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
In my honest opinion, men DO NOT want traditional women. I want you to remember that not too long ago, women made it abundantly clear that they should be able to have sex outside of the confines of a relationship. This time is known as the sexual revolution. Women then doubled down on this point when the rallied against 'slut shaming'. Men's response by and large was, "That's fine. We would much rather get to the point than fiddle and jump through the hoops of a relationship anyway."
Women started realizing that prince charming wasn't waiting for them at the 29-33 years old cock carousel finish line with bouquets and wedding rings desperate to find a finger. That's when the prevailing question of the day became what I like to call The DIVINE INQUIRY, "Where have all the good men gone?"
The point of speaking on tradition is to point out that fact that each and every one of you still wants a husband. Along with all of the Disney-fed bullshit expectations that have no real meaning outside of feeding your ego. Where the problem lies, is that as a woman you don't have even half of what a woman had to offer a husband traditionally. Its like you're trying to sell a used Buick LeSabre for the price of of a brand new Lamborghini. Men, brow beaten by every chant and scream you've engaged in over these last 3 generations, have finally started to look at the cost vs benefit of dealing with you. You are found wanting. You are found lacking.
Instead of dealing with this fact with any measure of objectivity or maturity, women have done what women always do. Complain and blame men. So you hold whatever standards you want to hold. The maxim still holds true. You control access to your vagina. He controls access to his commitment. For the record, there is a distinct difference between controlling and respecting the person your in a relationship with. If you can't respect a man, then be a lesbian(who is even more controlling than a man would be), or die alone. The choice is yours.
[–]michaelscott1776 2 points3 points4 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Well in that case I'll make sure my woman doesn't wear a bikini as she's advertising her body to other men
[–]UnconventionalXY 1 point2 points3 points (6 children) | Copy Link
Then be prepared to wear a burkha so that a man's standards over not advertising her body to other men is also upheld.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points (5 children) | Copy Link
You don't get it do you? I'm showing another user how sexist it is to not let his girlfriend wear a bikini around men who aren't him by reversing the genders.
I did it to show there is a double standard on this sub. The comment saying he wants to control what his girlfriend wears was encouraged and upvoted while mine which has the gender reversed gets downvoted.
[–]xepfalr6 3 points4 points5 points (2 children) | Copy Link
It’s not sexist to not want your girlfriend to walk into a gym in a bikini. It’s obvious that she wants attention at that point

A man has every right to wear what he wants ..
It doesn't qualify as 'advertising' his body to anybody... The women who see him are expected to control their emotions..
I think same goes for girls who wear revealing clothes. Their choice..
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Thank you for getting my point. My point is that every person has the right to wear what they want.

I really don't get that either side, women and men, only always complain about the biggest idiots of the other sex.
Yea, some guys are babies and want a "traditional women" because they need someone to cook and clean for them because they are lazy asses. But on the other side there are also enough littles princesses who demand to be "homemakers" and still demand 50% of house work to be done by the guy plus the "traditional" duties like yard work and shit.
If both work, you share your fucking tasks at home equally. If one only works you share your tasks at home according to how much gets done in the day.
My mom always said being a homemaker is boring shit after the children are grown a little, but even when we were small she still had time for coffee with the neighbours at 1030 every day and the house was spotless at 1800 with dinner on the table. She also teached us to take care after our own shit, which I think is pretty important because it is just not feasible today that just one person is working except you life in shitholes like the US where daycare costs are fortune.

I have a girlfriend who can cook and clean. However, I never ask her to do any of that. I actually try to make sure she isn't doing any of that and yet she does go out of her way to cook for me a lot of times. I never ask for it and I try my best to intervene or at least find a way to help out. I feel like women like ones in that subreddit need to learn how to cooperate with men and learn how to bring out the best in men while learning how to do some of those traditional things out of their own goodness of their heart. A lot of us men aren't as traditional either as we are willing to help cook and clean when necessary. I feel like there is still this stereotype being sold by media to continue to divide us and into a battle of the sexes primarily for monetary gains but it continues to exist.

It would behoove everyone to stop with the “traditional” expectations. That’s dead. Time to evolve. There’s a new traditional. It doesn’t involve cleaning a fucking house or cooking dinner. There’s Uber eats and cleaning services. There really needs to be New expectations. We know what women think these days. We need to adjust our own thinking so as to not be disappointed.

I’m just glad to be gay, so I don’t have to dip my toes at all into any of this weird back and forth about gender roles or whatever.
It’s definitely true that many women also still hold all these traditional expectations for men while trying to be free from their own expectations. If they don’t want these household expectations placed on them, then they shouldn’t place all these occupational and financial expectation on guys.
If being gay wasn’t so socially stigmatized, I’d say being gay is the way to go. As far as equal responsibilities and expectations go, it’s just so much simpler just dealing with another guy and not having this other baggage along too. Don’t get me, there are definitely gay guys who also have similar types of attitudes and baggage, but it’s still easier to find guys who don’t.
