Reading through some of the comments on this thread. You have your answer. There are literally men on here saying they don’t think a boy being raped is as damaging and that it’s not as bad if she’s hot. That’s why it’s culturally not viewed as bad. People like that normalize it.

It's not supposed to affect boys because they're boys and should be able to "deal with it" while girls are automatically less capable and need more external support. That applies to just about everything that happens to either sex.

People also seem to inherently be less sympathetic to boys/men over girls/women. Women are more likely to receive help when in distress than men are by either sex. Hence the popular "damsel in distress" trope that's always in every fictional story.

Also, I see lots of women pointing to men or "the patriarchy" being the problem in the comments. As though a bunch of men wanting to bang a hot teacher overrides the nature of this topic being that men and women both hold and perpetuate sexist attitudes toward each other and themselves.

My first college gf raped me.

I told exactly one other female this in my life and that relationship , which I thought was safe ... Wasn't.

A chorus of men saying the kid is lucky, and they wished that it happened to them.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. People within the same demographic as the person victimized set the tone for how “outsiders” will react to an injustice. When a girl is sexually assaulted for the most part you have other women and girls sympathizing with her and agreeing that what happened to her is a horrible thing. So that sets the tone for how other people react to girls who are raped and molested.

When it happens to a boy, especially when his rapist is conventionally attractive, you’ll see swathes of men saying how “lucky” he was to be raped, how they wish a woman did that to them when they were a boy and other disgusting comments. That also sets the tone for how people react. It’s not all men that do this but the ones who do largely go unchecked by other men so them making these disgusting comments reinforces the belief that men and boys are sex-obsessed heathens who welcome and are happy for any sexual advances. Celebrities also normalize this. The rapper Boozie Bad ass for example. He hired a sex worker to sexually assault his sons and nephews. There were people slamming him but there were also people praising him. That also sets the tone. If a woman had hired a man to preform sex acts on her daughters and nieces women would have unanimously spoke out against that disgusting act. The fact that Boozie doing that was polarizing instead of views as unanimously as a disgusting act of sex abuse is very telling. The change will have to start with men though. Men aren’t going to listen to women telling them this stuff is disgusting, they’re only going to listen to other men shutting it down. So when men make disgusting comments defending male sexual assault, other men need to be just as loud speaking out against it. Only then will the culture change and be less accepting of this.

A guy in my men’s group - a 40yr old education professional, told us how his father and his girlfriend, both professional functioning alcoholics, were inappropriate with him when he was 12-13 years old. His father would tell him - “hey Keith, isn’t she’s hot, don’t ya think, grab her ass with me, touch her boobs (she was clothed but does it matter?)

That was weird for him - he likes girls in 8th grade, not 35 year old women. But one night, his dad passed out, she was still up, asked him to help her relax with a shoulder rub and seduced him into having sex with her.

He’s fucked up about it 30 years later. His entire way of showing up in life and in relationships is affected by the betrayal of trust his perverted addict father and girlfriend incurred upon him.

This type of thing fucks men up, unless you’re already an aloof, experienced player at a young age, you’re vulnerable and going to traumatized by Mrs. Robinson bullshit. Period.

if anything the last couple years has shown its not rare...there has been what seems like 1 case every month for the past couple years....but its always minimized, by people who read about it....and in the courts....most women get little to no punishment.

Another telling fact is the headlines...they almost never say female teacher raped student or anything of that nature....they usually say sexual relations, or she seduced him....when if the genders would be reversed the older man would be identified as a rapist, or child molester etc...

I was never molested by either men or women but I can sure say that a LOT of guys have experiences with "the female gaze" especially when we were in high school and older women would stare or throw comments which at the time we think is no big deal and boosts our ego. I hesitate to compare it to when older dudes do it towards girls because in my case I was a horny teen and I welcomed female attention and women in their 30's and 40's ogling me was a confidence boost more than anything, also they very rarely said anything, they were content just to gaze at me when I was playing soccer or running track.

There was one woman in particular who made comments about my legs but not in any lascivious kind of way she was just looking at my legs while I was stretching and saying that I have strong legs and asking me if I have been playing much and just non-sexual conversation but it's the look on her face that gave it away. She kept doing that up and down look. There were many other instances of women just staring at me, grown women! But, again, I liked it and I welcomed it and even though they were grown women they were still very passive and never made a move on me. So I don't believe it's a big deal if all they do is just gaze.

I don't know about any psychological effects either, but then again, I wasn't molested. I was only gawked at and women were always nice to me. Of course though, my mom had a very strange look in her face when she used to see me play. The same look dads have when their daughters play and there are other dudes in the stands with binoculars, THAT kind of look. When my mom was with me the attention from older women seemed to disappear lol.

Anyway, I am pretty sure that a lot of guys have this experience. In school I know I was not the only one getting stared at. Even today if I dress the part I get a lot of women checking me out and glancing at me even if they don't approach or show any more interest than to just gaze at me quietly and keep going about her day.

Well as a guy - who has never had this experience - I still don’t really think we are. Maybe it is traumatic in some way that is not obvious on the surface but it seems to be way more insidious for females, from what I’ve read (no direct experience). I don’t think there is anything wrong with saying some people aren’t as traumatized as others in certain scenarios.

The South Park episode where Ike bangs his teacher in like kindergarten is just an amazing commentary on this It's definitely not as rare as people believe but I also do think that is because it is often not as damaging. A lot of my friends got play from older women when we were young because they knew what they wanted unlike girls our age. Is it weird sure, but it didn't negatively affect us. That being said there are legitimate cases where it goes unreported. Same thing happens to women. Damn shame.

I dont think its the culture that made it that way, i think its the way us guys react to it that kinda set the culture.

I know 3 guys who were "touched" by older girls/women as kids.

None of them knew what was going on then realized it later as teens and pretty much say "why tf doesnt that happen now when i can enjoy it" and laugh. At that point you can just laugh with them. If they dont see themselves as victims , how can you call them that?

Men refuse to be seen as weak or powerless, regardless of how we feel. Its how we are.

So i dont think this will change anytime soon.

I wish the English language have different terms of male on female rape and female on male rape, because the dynamic IS different.

I also wish we had different terms than just “rape” for sexual assault by force/drugs/blackmail, and consensual sex between an adult and a minor (and also different age range of said minor).

And to be clear I think they are all wrong, but they are not all the same class of acts.

I've talked about this one here before that when I was 15 I lost my virginity to my teacher who was in my thirties, no I was not a victim, yes I knew exactly what I was doing, and no I have no regrets and we're still cool to this day, at least Facebook friends anyways although we have had dinner a few years ago.

There is an age that I think is too young course regardless of circumstance, and if you're talkin about that, I wholeheartedly agree but men and women especially post puberty are different, and we are generally going to take responsibility / enjoy our memories at a certain point more than women will🤷‍♂️

Although I can't speak for a lot of these soy overdosing, single mother raised, low testosterone males, we don't claim most of them lol

First, I think it is important to point out that we are talking about statutory rape, which is not actually rape, it is a legal fiction where we pretend it is rape for legal purposes, to advance a social goal. In this case, it is protect girls from getting impregnated while they are too young to make wise decisions. I would think that feminists would be against this infantilization of young women.

This does not really apply to young men, since they can’t be impregnated, so statutory rape laws are not really needed. I guess you could speculate about potential emotional damage, but I doubt there is evidence of harm.

While FDS try to paint men as the reason society accepts older women having sex with boys, in truth, it is women who desire legitimization of these relationships. It is one of the biggest open secrets, that women desire the relationships and are very sexually active with much younger men. And very frequently is is married women doing the pursuing. Young men just enjoy the results.
