I wish I could understand why my wife was so unhappy. We tried super hard for our two kids, we had to go through 2 IVF cycles. We spent 8 years together before kids and 3 years married before kids. We were super happy and she seemed very furfilled.

Then as soon as kids came BOOM, she was like a completely different person. Nothing I did was enough, nothing I did was right. She expected me to do everything, and always put me down.

She worked 1 day a week, was offered childcare help. She had a supportive hardworking husband, lived in a nice house. Basically she had whatever she wanted at her disposal. I arranged therapy multiple times for her sudden downturn in satisfaction of our life together. Nothing helped, and she refused to do anything for just herself. As “she wasn’t the problem” according to her , it was all my fault.

Never in a million years could I have guessed this outcome. I’m not perfect, but shit, she had everything at her disposal. I’m not a drinker, gambler, cheater, etc. why give up our whole lives, our children’s lives? was I not a strong enough man to keep her?

I remember year 2 of our marriage, so year 11 together, she was texting some random woman on the internet “I just feel like eventually I’ll have to leave him”, because I had anxiety. Wtf, what happened to marriage vows? Who is this woman I married?

She went from being the mother of my children, best friend and partner. To my forever adversary. Sometimes it just blows my mind.
