I think not being able to sleep is a sign of too much emotional investment on your part or that you’ve been deprived of romantic/loving feelings so long it’s like a drug.

I have been here, mostly as a much younger woman, and I always take it as a warning sign that I’ve developed an unhealthy crush and need to back off.

This screams "unhealthy attachment", IMO. She's been only on two dates with this guy and it seems she's already slipped into obsessive territory. As another user said, she's probably been deprived of affection before and now she's flooded with emotion. She sounds young so I hope she has time to discover what it means to have a healthy investment in a relationship vs. what she's dealing with right now. This isn't healthy, at all.

Edit: I feel bad because if things go wrong with this guy you can tell she's going to crash hard :(

Edit 2: I was curious and found the original post. She says she's been lonely lately and that it's the first time she's been really into someone and they reciprocated. She also thinks he's a bit too good for her. So yeah...

I agree with all the comments but I feel this way whenever I catch crush-feels for a guy. Mine doesn’t happen after two dates with a stranger but it gets so bad that I can’t sleep, eat, think straight. I’m 37.

Ive been learning a lot about trauma bonding and the chemical highs that come from repeating stories from my childhood. Just wanted to leave this here for anyone struggling this way too.

It’s because she’s inexperienced. Once you realize 60% of men don’t know how to wipe their own ass, and 85% don’t wash their ass and more and more of these men are developing mental illness and becoming pedophiles etc ... it’s really difficult to feel those “butterflies” again. Unless it’s nausea.
