Sex positivity will make you believe that this type of arrangement is empowering because it’s a woman taking the bull by the horns with “no strings attached” sex. I guess that works for a few people. If you truly don’t want a relationship, I guess. It seems to never end up the way intended and then one person is hurt because they caught feelings that aren’t reciprocated. Intimate relationships are normal and healthy. To desire a meaningful connection with someone is normal and healthy. Sometimes I think people participate in the type of cognitive dissonance in OP’s post because they think not putting a label on things will prevent them from getting hurt somehow, but it doesn’t work like that. Not only will they get hurt anyway, they’ll feel bad about getting hurt because the relationship was never “legitimate” to begin with…
