What I mean is that the first few dates, men don’t give a DAMN about what your career and professional/study life is.

The LVM will either: 1) use that information to see if you earn enough to go 50/50 with them/ to see if you can foot the bill. 2) or they will use it to boost their ego 3) or they just don’t appreciate your hard work and will brush it off

The HVM don’t care because: 1) they already know you’re valuable as a woman and they respect you. You don’t need to prove it. 2) they are ready to (financially) support you regardless. 3) they are more interested in HOW YOU FEEL and WHAT LIGHTS UP THE SPARK INSIDE YOU than about your profession then they profession itself

I'm glad you had the self control to walk away, because I always find myself taking the bait and replying. I don't reply because I'm interested, just to call them out, but it's usually a waste of time.

I probably would've replied to this guy with "What would make you say that?" in the hopes of starting a dialogue in which he sees the error of his ways and I save his soul from misogyny and then there's a huge parade and the whole town cheers for me and instead of confetti raining down, it's personalized handwritten apology letters from every man who's every been a dick to a woman.

But that's never what happens.

Speechless. I was actually watching a video online from SheraSeven and she suggests NOT revealing what you do for a living until you’ve gotten to know the person better. She says to lead with your sensual, feminine side instead of your ‘business lady’ side. I didn’t really believe it until I experienced it firsthand. The guy told me “you’re so stable and set in life, you won’t have any problem finding anouther guy!” (Despite having a decent , full time job himself). Obviously a BS excuse but apparently this is how men who are insecure think. And here I was, just sharing what I did for a living...and not wanting to come off as an uneducated and silly girl. I thought that he would be able to appreciate the fact that I have my ducks in a row. But he took it as me competing with him. Not everyone can appreciate a woman who is going after her goals in life and not every man will be able to support and encourage her.

I stay away from a specific "group" of males who show traits of being delusional losers that think this is the way to "bag women" - by mocking/humiliating them. There's always a pattern showcasing who these are, they're pretty transparent.

It wasn't negging. Something about the major you were in signaled a cute reaction in a literal sense. Like being a waitress. Or an animal vet. Whatever it is you said conveyed some desirable quality to him, which he interpreted as being a positive quality for a wife or girlfriend. He wasn't being sarcastic. He was being sincere.
