If it's loneliness in general, then that can be remedied by surrounding yourself with good friends (many FDS rules apply to vetting friends!)

Remember, being alone/single =/= loneliness!

I think you should take this opportunity to search yourself, and see why being alone makes you feel lonely, and why you believe a romantic relationship would fix that. Learn to love yourself, care for yourself, and see what needs improving that you can do every day, little by little. Build yourself up, instead of lamenting the fact dating is shit now.

Being a communal species doesn't mean that we're less or it's detrimental to stay single. While certainly human connection is important, I'd daresay it's even more important that they're GOOD human connections. You can build a community, without "needing" a romantic partner.

I feel you. I broke up with my ex just about 2-3 weeks before lockdown started and where I live we never fully opened up. The first two months were great beacuse I wanted to take my me-time and recharge, but months were passing by and I really miss social contact. I have roommate and sometimes meet her friends which helps but it's not good enough...normally I wouldn't mind the singlehood because I would go out for meetups, to my yoga studio, visit friend and have some nights-out, but none of this is possible now and it started driving me crazy...a now it looks like my holidays can be cancelled, I'm about to see my family and best friends and I really really miss them and need to get out somewhere else and I'm so anxious it won't happen.

I downloaded OLD a month ago and it's a shitshow. On one hand I'm glad that now I'm really able to see all the signs of LMVs so don't waste any time talking to them and going on crap dates, on the other hand it feels like there are no HVMs out there at all, and if somebody has a profile I like (very rare!) the guy is just unattractive to me and I know from experience that it's not going to change even if I really try..
