Basically the actual "gem of men" out there are placeholders and scapegoats for the actions of the guys out here running amok. I would have no problem if those who complained actually spoke on the guy who did them dirty, not blame the men who had nothing to do with it and still go for the clown ass dudes. That is why those good men opting out of dating is such a problem. There is no fallback or safety net, and no one to keep subscribing to those dating apps and other sites that offer false hope.

It doesn't help that the media pushes a certain narrative of what it means to be a successful man in this day and age. Even certain guys in the manosphere are taking advantage of the good guys just searching for answers.

My grandpa had a saying; "It only takes one man to ruin an army of women". We are seeing that in real time with all these talking points talking about the same type of guy hurting their hearts.

A lot of decent men are seeing this and are fine with not playing that game anymore. I think more men should follow the War Games approach and simply not play. I could go into a whole philosophical discussion on this, but I shouldn't rant. But yes they are going for the men they want (which is the same type) and blaming the failures on the men they don't want but expecting them to keep up the status quo when they aren't. Wild shit.

7 years with a cheating wife who refused to get a job and spent on average $150 more per week than I earned, threatening to take my kids if I make her mad.

2 years without seeing or speaking to my kids, because I refused to sign paternal rights away.

My mother paying my ex's lawyer to take my kids from me.

All the females in my family telling me I deserved it all because I'm a man.

My ex throwing my son out in the street, and convincing him it's MY fault.

50 to 300 texts a day for 10 years telling me I'm a shit father, not allowed to block her and can't get a restraining order because the judge says she has to be able to speak to the kids.

To most young women, decent isn't exiting. Decent isn't social status.

If a good man fails to date in his 20s, chances are he is going to be a "retirement plan" for one of the women who chased excitement and had 3 kids before deciding to look for a decent man. A lot of good men refuse and will stay single.

The problem is then, the women have hardened up from all their trauma from dating exiting men, so then expect these decent men to date them on their terms as a hard and fast rule.

Add into the mix that now a lot of women think that being a strong woman means being unnecessarily aggressive, confrontational and all around insufferable, its hard for a decent man to find a decent woman.

Women have a huge list of requirements for what they want in men. And if you are missing one thing that is enough for them to write that man off.

Because the reality of marriage is that it's a contract with the govt that only obligates you to care for another person quite possibly for the rest of their life. Even if that person hates you and has contributed nothing to your life. Even if that person cheated and left you, the courts can still award them. The courts get paid a percentage of what they award so the incentive to tap your income aggressively is definitely there. Everything that has to do with marriage is an overpriced cash grab. The only thing men get out of it is companionship and intimacy if they are lucky. The ol bait and switch is common in marriages also. You marry a nice loving person and end up with the opposite after you are on contract and financially obligated. To add even more to this men are now somehow regarded as this oppressive, abusive, yet bumbling idiot type of person that is meant to work the rest of their lives in support of literally anyone else.

It ultimately really just comes down to how women choose partners. For starters, there is a very clear problem with the way dating operates now in that you have a dating culture in which women effectively put in very little effort to find/filter men, pushing that burden back on to men, and a whole lot of women who romanticize toxic qualities in men while vilifying wholesome qualities in men.

To further expend, the issue starts with the way a lot of women do not initiate in dating at all, and instead of taking the initiative, the sit back and wait for men to approach them first and then use that as their primary filter. This creates two issues: this makes the barrier to entry for relationships/sex much higher for men, in that men have to develop of unnecessary or counter-intuitive skills to find and attract women, but it also creates this environment where the men with the least consideration for women win/thrive. This is especially true today, in an age where male heterosexuality or male attention is openly demonized, or where men can potentially be labelled as creeps or predators, which are potentially emotionally, socially and professionally devastating labels, for any effort they make to attract or approach women.

Because women effectively structure their dating strategy around being approached first, in an environment that is not only hostile to men but that is hyper-sensitive to any discomfort from women, the only men who can or will approach successfully are men who are exceptionally experienced(meaning they do this with a lot of women and know what they can get away with) or exceptionally indifferent(meaning they don't actually care about the negative repercussions of their approach, to themselves or the women they approach).

The other problem that plays into this dating strategy is that, because women refuse to approach men first, they will also then try to rationalize this strategy, or their own insecurities and inability to approach, by labelling the men who do not approach them as unworthy, insecure, unmasculine, or simply act as though those men do not exist. They will romanticize confidence or brashness in men, because that is what enables their own inability or unwillingness to approach men, despite every standard of gender equality being very obvious on the fact that they should.

Another major factor that contributes to this issue is the fact that women tend to not only be hypergamous(meaning they only seek to date men they see as being above themselves on a social hierarchy) but also very conforming and monogenous when it comes to male attraction. This means that the vast majority of women tend to only really value a small minority of men, and all value the same type of men(usually being tall, muscular and high status/income), even when this type of men might be toxic or make for horrible partners. The fact that women tend to also concentrate all of their attention to the same type of men, instead of diversifying to a broader range of men, means that you have a small percentage of men who can effectively get away with a lot of toxicity in dating and are in a position to replace/juggle a lot of women, while the greater majority of men just struggle and have little to no options.

I have about a dozen inner core guy friends in our 30s to 50s. These are all intelligent guys in good to excellent shape and of varying degrees of success but responsible enough without addictions or any major red flags.

7 are completely done with women and haven’t dated in years. A couple of them were REAMED in divorce to incomprehensible levels (one very publicly as his ex was a reality TV star).

One is significantly younger and EXTREMELY successful. His baby mama drama is insane. This chick has beat the shit out of several women he’s tried to move on with, at least one who went to the hospital. Cops involved etc. and she’s never even been arrested.

Two were single for many years and are now in relationships where they are settling and there is massive pressure to cohabitate and man up for these single moms. Been there done that, hard pass for me.

Then the last two are dabbling in dating and are essentially perplexed continuously at the wretched behavior of women they are experiencing. Now openly talking about the passport thing.

To say it is all disheartening is an understatement. Where have all the good men gone? You wrecked them. The juice isn’t even in the stratosphere of being worth the squeeze.

I'm going to give you an answer that applies to men and women for millennia, then look at today.

In most of history men have wanted a woman who is pure, fit, feminine, friendly, supportive, has integrity and fidelity and is sexually submissive to some extent, and had traits for being a good mother.

In most of history women have wanted a man who is fit (taller & stronger), masculine (aggressive, successful and dangerous enough they feel safe with him), in other words can protect, provide, and lead and had good traits for being a father.

In the past men got a virgin who was young, fit, feminine, trained to keep a home and feed her family, who let her husband lead but also protect snd sacrifice for his family and expected that from him, giving him trust, respect, children, and a home in return. She got protected, cared for, respect, fidelity, a home, children, and a good future.

Today men in the west get a woman who isn't young, pure, often not fit, aggressive, masculine, domineering, doesn't want kids, doesn’t know how to or want to make a home. And her standards are higher than ever, she only wants the top 5% of men. And with most divorce and custody laws men get shafted. They get by far less time with their kids, pay far more in child support, spousal support. And can be forced to support kids they never agreed to.

All of which adds up to men paying far more than their ancestors for women who are nothing they want in a wife. Why would any rational or reasonably intelligent man want to marry under those circumstances?

1) some men just don't want relationship at that point in their life.

2) some men may not know where to start to find a good relationship.

3) some men may be too busy with life (example college or work) and don't have enough time to actively seek relationship.

4) some men had their heart broken and are too afraid to start relationships again.

5) some men don't want to be the one who's making the first move, and due to the stupid saying "man should make the first move" they are left without a relationship.

6) inability to get good match/partner. Dating apps aren't all that good..

7) some men have preference for a specific type of partner, and either their culture or their family doesn't support or approve that type of partner,so the person is afraid to start a relationship because of the stigma.

There could be more reasons as well, but I think these are some of the ones that can explain why many decent men are single.

Well my ex always told me about her toxic exes (should have run). She literally was willing to move overseas to be with her ex in eastern Ontario but told me he was abusive and moved out west. She friend zoned.me until I dated someone else (should have kept it that way) then suddenly wanted to try it. After second kid shut everything right down. Never saw her naked again. Managed to get her to admit to the fact she didn't love me when she married me, but I ticked all the boxes, was a decent guy, and hoped she'd grow to love (no wonder nothing was ever good enough no matter how much I tried to the thr right guy for her). So yeah I get the feeling she prob was attracted to bad boys for a while and typically settle with the nice guy and resent him. Although I have my doubts about what she said with the ex she moved with. She literally had asked at one point if it was ok to do some marketing work for him (I said no at that time).

I think like this, a decent man used to be fail/cheated/left by their ex-partners. They learned some valuable lessons. It takes hard work and dedication to meet the standard of physical fitness that women find attractive, unless you’re blessed with great genetics. If you’re a normal guy, you need to have a consistent gym routine such that you can build a physique that is genuinely attractive to women.

Lots of men just don’t do it.

Once you get into the HABIT of going to the gym, it gets easier, but it does take time to make it into a component of the male lifestyle.

Women would rather date a handsome jerk than a “nice guy” they don’t get wet for, especially if she is attractive herself. Women will never, ever date down unless the material (money) component makes it make sense for her, but she will know what the real deal is in those contexts.

Men actually operate the same way. We would, to our own detriment, date a shitty gorgeous girl instead of a good girl that we just can’t get hard for. Men, because of our compulsion, will sometimes resort to the bottom of the barrel, but never happily.

The reality is that men and women both have a lot of work to do in the post-feminism era, where both genders are largely confused about how to proceed and reinvent what relationships should look like and how to restructure the dating environment.

Wasn't until I made a point to stay single and avoid relationships that I met my current partner of 9-10 years.

If you don't truly enjoy being single, and drop everything for a new relationship at first opportunity to maybe get over the previous one. You just end up settling or getting with the wrong types.

As I did enjoy being single quite a lot, I didn't give it up until I met someone truly special.

Women have made it fairly clear that being approached is creepy and uncomfortable, and 20% of gen Z believe that a man approaching a woman almost or always constitutes harassment.

The problem is that the only guys who are going to listen to that are the guys that care about making women uncomfortable. One of the major reasons decent men are single is because they don't make good first impressions with women. This is largely a consequence of womens' unrealistically high standards which came from various changes in society since the 1960s. Such as birth control allowing women to have lower-risk sex with men outside their LTR-range, and then becoming "stuck on their highest setting", expecting men in their LTR-range to measure up to those unreasonable standards. I've seen women who genuinely did not understand how meaningless it was that they could have a one-night stand with a celebrity.

Those men marry whomever they want. The rest of us guys fight over the rest of the women. Many men grow really tired of the fight.

My ex-wife is a former model with an MD. Quite the catch on paper, eh? About a year into our marriage, I realized it was never going to work, but I stuck it out because I wanted to raise our sons as a family. Finally, enough was enough after 7 years. I spent like 25k in court just getting her out of my life, not to mention the thousands spent in child custody and the headaches involved in that. Now I'm a single dad, and why in God's name would I take time away from raising my sons to go through that shit again?

The work and dating cost is much higher, but the overall quality of the females in the market averages very low.

Most females that say " all guys want is just to f***... Are females that are sourcing these males out in environments where people typically go to have non meaningful interactions.. Eg. Bars, clubs, concerts, festivals, social media and now a days online dating!

I think what happens is a lot of the really good men get into a relationship with a very bad woman and when they get out they swear off women. They become very jaded. And often with good reason. The trouble is that it never heals, they don't always seek the help to fix the issues. The triggers.

Where women tend to be more anxious attachment style, so they're going to look for the next person to fix the problem for them. But because they haven't fixed their own stuff they end up with another not so great man. Because the good ones spot these red flags and run for the hills.

So we end up caught in this perpetual cycle until we all just focus on fixing ourselves. And then.... It's a little easier to meet someone who isn't an ass. (Either gender).

I met a great girl who said the same thing. "i tired with other guys but they all just wanted sex" basically. why do so many girls say this? it feels like a deflection from something. but it does contain some type of truth. at least from their point of view. this is a good woman who now has a boyfriend and says he is the only one who can ever love her. i even told her that sounded sad. it's clear to me that she is a great woman and there are lots of great guys even among the people she knows who would want to be with her. so why is this one guy the "only guy" who can ever love her? why does she think that all other guys just want sex? it's so e-ffed up. it sounds to me like this other guy was the only one who could afford to buy her a house.

and i'm just like you here, i know lots of great men who are single and always have been. i'm shocked sometimes by it. i was watching this really popular guy on tiktok, very built and friendly and outspoken, and then he admitted that he is really struggle to find a girl to date and that he is only now just embarking on online dating, which for me was a nightmare i tired for a few years. even though i can be considered shy depending on who you asked, i have always preferred approaching women in real life.

but back to the question, why do women say other guys "just want to fuck". it's fucked up, that's what it is. it really discounts how many great guys are out there and makes you question who are they going for? i remember how shocked this girl was the first day she told me she had a bf. it was like she couldn't believe that any man could actually love her. and i'm over here like obviously some other fucker got there first. i think you have to consider that the woman is leaving something out, like she is deflecting. she is avoiding the uncertainty of just trusting someone new or a regular guy. so instead of meeting new people, in the case of this girl, she latches on to someone she has known for a long time, someone comfortable and secure. sort of like "love" within security. rather then a real free kind of love.
