TRP and the manosphere gives everything that men do a bad rep because there are some very vocal, toxic people that are at it's forefront. I'm no male feminist, but I wouldn't want to associate myself with the likes of Andrew Tate or Fresh and Fit.

I'm 34. My gf is 25. I didn't date her because she has "youthful fertile eggs" or some weird shit like that. I was open to dating women in a wide age range and we happened to hit it off. My previous ex was 3 years older than me.

Age gaps, based in TRP or not, get a bad rep because they're impractical in the long term, have way higher divorce rates than on average, and generally don't involve two adults that are both at least middle aged.

No one's saying they can't ever occur by happenstance, but they usually don't.

I just find the whole TRP outlook on age gap relationships to be strange tbh. The first time I was ever approached was when I was 18 by a man in his 40s-50s and I vividly remember disgust violently rippling through my body. I’ve never been one of those girls who found older men attractive, I just don’t see their appeal. Guys in their late teens-early twenties will always be superior when it comes to physical attraction.

I wouldn't blame those groups specifically. It goes beyond that.

One of my friends (she's 23) recently told me she's trying out older guys (up to early 30s). She's at an age and place in life I generally consider reasonable for that sort of thing, so I didn't think much of it initially.

It's like the Island of Lost Toys from that Christmas movie. So far she's encountered alcohol issues, emotional distance/refusal to commit, drama with exes, family issues, so on and so forth. Ostensibly she wants to date older men because they "have their shit together." But strip away the established careers and property and honestly the ones who are into women our age seem to have all sorts of baggage, which definitely lends credence to the perception that they are being rejected by women their own age.

It seems as though the most vocal age gap advocates (who incorporate disparaging older women) are the same crowd who rage about “divorce rape”, “paternity fraud”, afbb etc. I.E. / men with little or no experience with women or relationships who spend way too much time in manosphere spaces and way too little time actually doing anything that would expose them to women, relationships, life’s realities and nuances.

Personally as a female I’ve always found men in their 20s and 30s attractive, with a preference towards similar aged men who are either younger or older but only by a few years. I find younger men attractive still now but they often don’t match my mindset in life experience and intellect so I rarely would give a younger man the kind of day. Some older men are attractive in intellect but a generational gap separates us from connecting. I have the most success with men who are 1-4 years older or younger. That age gap seems to be the sweet spot.

Personally I find the red pill men to be offensive towards older women. They seem to be obsessed with them like they are better but it really just comes across as men who observe women on the sidelines but don’t interact with them in real life. Relationships are about having a connection and psychical attraction is important too but without the connection a relationship isn’t there. Age cannot be the number one ruling factor.

If you prefer younger women then cool, but no need to bring down older women or violently tell other men not to date older women when they might want to.

They also act like women in their 30s are ancient when they aren’t. More women actually marry and have kids in their 30s now compared to even 15 years ago and many women who are divorced remarry in their 30s and older. So it’s possible to find love in those ages and if they don’t want to date a women of a certain age that’s fine but no need to ruin it for one’s who do

If the relationship you have with a younger women was happenstance then I find that less alarming than a man who purposely goes after a certain age only, as that comes off as predatory and calculated

Edit: personally I find a lot of older men in the red pill space are men who either don’t get women or who pursued a career and waited too long to settle down. Now that they are financially stable they are much older than the women they want to date and so they promote age gap relationships as an agenda to get younger women to date them, but the younger women don’t want them usually.

Maybe, but I think a lot of our personal experiences and that of other women is the bigger culprit.

It also drastically depends on what age gap period we mean. Most of us don't give a flying fuck if a 60 year old dates a 70 year old or assume negative things. But say a 16 year old and a 26 year old...yeah, we'd have thoughts.

Women aren’t out looking for guys 10 years older but they have no problem ending up with them because they’re in the same social groups

Entertainment, sex work and drug/crime is where a lot of mixed age groups mingle and older women are more rare in these spaces

In my age gap relationship (13 years), it's because of the age gap, as that is a dynamic we both like for the opposite reasons. It's not a fetish and the preference is not for the reasons TRP lists. I don't care about fertility as i don't want kids and i don't care about past sexual experiences/partners. She doesn't care about provider capabilities or status/wealth.

It's definitely not the majority. Science is clear about the fact that men and women look for similarities in their partners (homogamy), and close to equal age brings more benefits to men and women on average, than having large age gaps. An average age gap of 2 years (husband being older) is evidence for that. 7.6% of marriages having an age gap of 10+ years tells us all we need to know. There are more marriages with the husband being younger, than marriages with a large (10+) year age gap.

What two consenting adults do is there own business, except on the internet where it is everyone's business and everyone has an opinion on it and will spew garbage like power imbalance etc because grown adult women are apparently both strong and independent but also simultaneously little children.

Also most women don't care about your actual age, they just care about how old you look. I'm mid 30s and I have absolutely no problems dating women in their early 20s as I look like i'm in my early 20s myself.

I just choose not to be in a relationship with someone that young as I prefer someone who is closer to where I'm at in my stage in life and where i'm ready to go.

Find someone you connect with enjoy your time together. Ignore what you see on the internet. It's not real life.

I’ve been in one relationship that would definitely fall into age gap territory and it was a very good relationship. In fact, we never had a single argument.

For me it’s all about compatibility, and I’ll take that wherever I find it regardless of age. When I don’t find it, I’m content being single. I don’t really care what TRP thinks about age gap dating, getting married or staying single. I make my own decisions.

TRP and manosphere talk about how older guys go after younger women because they are better and how guys should go after younger women intentionally therefore.

I can't speak for the manosphere but this is not a red pill talking point, the red pill doesn't differentiate between young women and old women. It might state that younger women are more physically attractive than older women but women's behavior and nature is the same, so it frowns on marriage of any kind.

Social engineering does not work in dating market. It didnt work when feminists tried to do it. It wont work if men or redpillers try to do it.

If men suddenly started finding older women more appealing then they would go for older women and we have victoria secret models who are 50 years old.

So redpill or feminism has no effect on dating preferences. Men like young women because they are more healthy or fertile or whatever and are more likely to give birth to offspring that is healthy and more likely to survive in caveman times. Thats pretty much it.

Same with asian preference, they have healthier skin and they dont show age so easily as white women. So men are fooled into thinking they have high amount of estrogen. They jut evolved in different climate and do not have advantage in china or korea but when they compete with white women they fare better.

There are two groups of heavy age gap relationships and only one of them is problematic; ones where people just happened by chance to end up in one and it all works out, and those who specifically sought out that type of relationship and refuse to date without the age gap. There is nothing wrong with two people 10 years apart happening to fall in love and get into a committed relationship. It’s another thing when folks specifically go seeking that out for certain reasons. Like, even if a 35 year old is only attracted to people up until they turn 25, so they go after younger partners only to inevitably break up with them as they get older, that person just shouldn’t be seeking out long term relationships. It would be one thing if the younger individual were to go into the relationship with the understanding that it would end once they were 25, but that’s not what happens in these situations.

No. What gives them that rep is bitter older women seeing men they were raised to believe they were entitled to leaving them behind. Women - especially Millennial and Zoomer women - were raised to believe that there would be a plethora of stable, high-earning, obedient family-ready men waiting for them when they finally aged out of being party girls. I think age gap relationships just make less sense in the current environment. Thus, when they happen, there is a high chance of gold digging on one end and excessive prioritization of neoteny and sexual attractiveness on the other. And that is just at the start. What happens when one partner ages out of being attractive first? Is infirmed first? Is dead first?

Why not be about the same age?

Now I’m just some guy posting online so you may not believe me. I’m not going to sit here and beg to be believed but I can only assure you so much I am not lying.

So I am waiting for the train. These two girls come and stand and wait for it. They start talking and one of them say’s about the guy she’s seeing some shit he she asks him along the lines of like would still love me if I was a year younger or it may have been older.

The other girl asks her how old is he? She tells her 21 long story short the first one tells her she just turned 17 so they had been going out since she was 16 and he was like 20,21. Yeah. That’s happening. The other girl mentioned she had gone out with a guy 3 years older than her when she was like the same age.

So what do we do about this? How do you solve something that so clearly flies in the face of all of this shit of older man guy power dynamics and these chicks dumb enough to buy this. All the crap certain progressive types go on and on about hmm?
