My hot take:

Empathy literally means "being able to see yourself in the other person's situation" not "agreeing with the other person's perspective/sympathizing"

Empathy is not sympathy. They are different. If you have no empathy, you are a sociopath/narcissist. If you have no sympathy, you might be reasonable, you might not, it depends on context.

I really wish more people understood the distinction.

Why is everyone so obsessed with empathy? Even if you people who complain about your problems (even if they are valid) get your empathy you are still going to be stuck in the same position as you were before. It's best to accept whatever you are having problems with and work on improving things that can be fixed.

Let's see... if you add "men are bad and if you disagree then you are bad", "women are wonderful and if you disagree then you are bad", "trpers/bloopers are dumb", "why can't men just be happy with the shit sandwich they've been given", "why won't gender x fuck me" then you will have a nice clean and empty sub. If it is red vs blue discussion let it ride. If multiple threads pop up about something it means there is actual disscussion happening, people discuss things on a discussion board shocked pikachu face

Thank God. As a man whose views and opinions are representative of 100% of all men everywhere and the gospel truth, the only part of me that wants empathy is my penis. If a woman wants to lean in close and use her mouth to whisper some some kind empathy to my penis, that is acceptable. No other empathy matters. As noted above, my views and opinions are binding on 100% of all men, forever more, no take backs, the end.
