The popular BP response is that all men, even the ugly ones, are chasing super-models and cheerleaders, and that these ugly men are having no success with women because they're trying to date out of their league. If only they'd lower themselves to be happy with a more normal-looking woman, everyone would be happy.

The RP response to that is that women have the ability to date up. Men do not. This means that a female "4" can find a male "6" willing to fuck her. Maybe not date her exclusively, maybe not marry her. But she can keep going out and keep trying and keep meeting male "6" people who keep fucking her, so she thinks she has a chance at 6's. She thinks she really is a 6.

She turns her nose up at a male "4", until she's a little older, a little uglier, and finally settles down and marries a "4", but always remembers how much better those 6's she fucked were, which often leads to a dissatisfying marriage for both parties.

If we're being real here, it's not that you can't get laid if you're below a 4. You just will get women who are also below 4. If those women don't get you hard you need to do whatever you can to raise that shit up to a 6 or 7.

Unattractive men have three choices.

Self improve to the point where he can attract a woman he's attracted to for sex.
Stay where he is and "settle" for what he can get at his current situation. For some, that will be an unattractive woman. For many others, that will be porn and prostitutes.
Sit out.

More and more men are selecting (3) because they've done the cost-benefit analysis and concluded the work won't be worth it. I suspect most of them would self improve only for the express purpose of attracting women, which TRP says is the wrong way to think about these things.

The big question is whether self improvement is "worth it" to get what he wants. It's easier -- and better for a man's mental health - to undertake self improvement for no one other than himself, with an eye solely to making his own like better and completely without regard to whether he will attract, or even be able to attract, a woman of sufficient attractiveness.

My advice to these guys is to self improve for themselves, forget about women for the time being, and definitely NOT to expect to be able to attract a sufficiently attractive woman. The worst that happens is that these guys now have better lives, and lives they want for themselves, and lives that bring them satisfaction and contentedness, even if they aren't able to attract a woman.

I think they should try RP. Even though I legitimately hate TRP, they claim to be able to help guys like this. I sure can't help them. It's worth a shot if they've tried everything else and failed. Alternatively, they should put themselves in environments with a surplus of women, like social studies. Even if you are a 2, if you are the only guy in the office maybe you can arbitrarily bump yourself up to a 4 or 5.

Well it is really the same dynamic very poor people face, isn't it? Putting effort into long term improvement (learn how to talk to people, lose weight, become an interesting person, get an education, have some savings on hand) is hard and less of a sure bet than making your immediate situation slightly more pleasurable by sitting round fapping/playing games/drinking/eating sugary foods.

I'll give the same advice I give poor people. You need to make the effort to build worth even if you see no clear obvious path ahead. Opportunity is something that happens occasionally even in lives where it seems no even break ever happens and opportunity doesn't give you the chance to go back and fix things so you're prepared to take advantage of it. You're either ready for an opportunity or you aren't. Life may or may not give you the opportunity you really want, but every little bit of progress you make will mean more chance of an opportunity that you can use.
