Few threads and you would assume the debate is between finding an American woman or a woman in desperate poverty from a war torn 3rd world country.

Men do well in Asia because they still like tall men, westerners are taller. They value fair skin much more than us. Speaking english in these countries is an indicator of higher social class. So western men have an unfair advantage over local men.

Even men who go to "poor" countries typically end up with upper middle classes from those places because those are the ones that know English and western customs well enough to make the relationship work.
