Overall, yes.

There's stuff I still want to achieve in my life, but I am still very young and have a lot of time to achieve those things.

I am not depressed anymore, I am not significantly suffering from anxiety anymore, I am working, I am saving for a mortgage deposit, I have lost a decent amount of weight in the past year, and I could probably go out and get laid tomorrow if I really wanted.

I'm doing pretty fucking great compared to being literally suicidal just a few years ago and I'm very proud of the progress I've made and will continue to make in the future.

No. I'm being treated for suicidal depression and stress induced gouty arthritis.

Achievement doesn't fix it. Volunteering doesn't fix it. Improved physical condition doesn't fix it.

I can achieve all I want but at the end of the day it doesn't make me feel like I'm not a massive burden on society.

Not always, but nowadays yes.

The first time I really liked myself was when I looked into a mirror high on psychedelics and for the first time saw myself as beautiful. Sure it was the drugs and I also looked at a white wall for an hour and thought it was the most interesting thing ever, but now I knew how it felt to watch into a mirror without critizing myself and without wanting to be someone else.

Usually I would notice my crooked nose or the fact that the left half of my face seems to be half an inch lower but on drugs I could see it in a more objective way. I didn't focus at the flaws, but rather looked at it as if it was the face of a stranger and thought "yeah I would drink a beer with me".

Psychedelics and MDMA helped me a lot to discover myself and to get over some demons that I wouldn't even think about otherwise. And to overcome my homophobia and to accept my bisexuality.

I used to regret a lot of things that I did and had some very cringy memories that followed me around and I've had a serious self esteem damage based on my "WHAT?! Only an A-? Why not an A+? Tell me why not! What's wrong with you. You are such an failure" upbringing. No matter how well I did something there was always something to criticize so I just kinda gave up one day and moved away as early as I could to lead an easy life where I wouldn't be met with much criticism. I never stayed in a single place for longer than a year or two and mostly lived with junkies or alcoholics and even in squatted buildings, lived a few months in a tent and generally just lived for the moment. All I've planned was where I would find some more weed, a party or a hookup, because what good is studying hard for several hours if it doesn't make a difference and why would I need a real job if I can lead an easy life by helping out in bars, throwing parties or helping DJs and bands with the equipment or light show.

It was the perfect life in theory, but it was so empty, repetitive and unfulfilling. It was all just an escape mechanism. I was simply running away from scary thoughts by always partying and living on the edge.

Psychedelics sat me down and told me that I don't even like that lifestyle myself and that I'm just addicted to the thrill. I realized that I only hated myself because that's what I was brainwashed to think.

Thanks to drugs I now no longer have the urge to numb myself down with other drugs 24/7.

I like what I see when I look in the mirror. I'm proud of my current life and of what I have become.

I'm fucking amazing. So amazing I walk into random places and people tell me to run for office, write a book explaining my greatness, host a radio show or work for the Trump Administration.

I'm a fit, 5'4 black woman with 24 inch waist and ass for days. Men stop traffic at the intersection to see me walk by. I am controlled, confident and poised like 95% of the time and when I turn up, people put respeck on my name <3

I have always made a plan and seen it through to its completion. I'm very skilled, intelligent, experienced and accomplished.

I also am very witty online :V and my friends and family enjoy my company.

My self esteem is on point. I definitely like myself. It took work to get it, but damn, the pay off is beautiful.

But I don't really have a self. I do have a nature however, and I'm not yet sure if I like or dislike my nature. My nature and I have a love hate relationship it seems.

I can go to sleep at night happy with the choices I've made, grateful for what I've accomplished in life, and hopefully for the next day.

When I look in the mirror I'm happy that I'm in shape, but I mainly feel a lot of disassociation. I've been meditating for 8 years which is mainly why, but a lesser amount of the disassociation is from messing with DXM when I was a teenager. One of the reasons I don't like traveling is because I have underlying derealization where any location just registers partially as nothingness. To some degree I also feel detached from my own name. I'm happy its not the kind of disassociation that would prevent me from feeling empathy or guilt. Rather than seeing it as a negative, I usually just see it as part of the meditation teachings that I follow.

Sometimes at night... I rehearse the ways I've fucked up socially during the day like a hardcore Christian at confession. Remnants of growing up with Behavior Modification Analysis for autism, its like a special ed religion. Meh

Maybe it's my liberal bias and hardcore feminism. I believe that I am a work in progress, but don't want to impose my personal biases on anyone else.

Myself? I'm genetically fortunate in a number of ways.

I hate the majority of other people. They're loud & throw off the signal-noise ratio for actually talented people. They're irrational & are a primary causal factor in chaos & disorder. For the most part they're a pain in the ass & you don't know or don't care about the majority of them anyway.

If I had a choice I'd choose be born a generation X'er because the culture was mildly similar & within waking memory but also because-- there's less of them, just over 45 maybe 8 million(millennials are the largest demographic cohort since the Boomer's). You didn't have so many competing voices Fucking everything up for you.

Self-hate is really just like anything else that puts your self-image before anything else. It just wastes everyone's time. Trying to talk someone out of liking me was never anything more noble than not getting hurt, and abusing myself because I'd been programmed to confuse it with love.

And it replaced love.

So now, after being forced to look at myself, the good and the bad, through more objective eyes? There's a truce, just so I can actually do everything that needs to be done.
