You should not be 'just' lifting! I consider bodybuilding akin to male beauty pageantry and should not be your only physical training. Taking up boxing/muay thai/mma/bjj or whatever other crazy backyard knife fighting you can find will benefit you in many ways:

1) You will get fit beyond belief. I cannot quantify to you how hard 10-15 rounds of proper sparring is physically. Most 'fit' people can barely handle 2-3 rounds of moderate intensity.

2) It is a massive confidence booster and man-maker. Why is this important? If you're new to all of this there's a good chance you are trying to lose your beta traits fast. Weight lifting will not do that for you, there are still plenty of pathetic beta guys at every gym who thought juicing to 110kg would make them top-dog, it doesn't.

3) It is practical! I don't know if you can consider yourself an alpha if you don't at least know the basics of how to fight properly. Just go watch worldstar or some other ridiculous 'street fight' video to see how stupid they look throwing their haymakers and nearly falling over from being so off balance afterwards. Not very alpha if you're 100kg and a 70kg guy can school you, fix that.

4) Boxing fitness classes are full (I'm talking 90%+) of in shape young women, even if you don't want to compete or learn the sport go to those.

5) And finally you're a lot more interesting to talk to if that is part of who you are instead of 'Yeah I did legs yesterday'. Why not add 'tough' to your list of positive attributes?

Final bit of advice: FIND AN OLDSCHOOL BOXING GYM! If I was moving to a new city, I'd be looking for the one above a bakery in an attic run by a 70 year old over some McMMA gym.

PS. I'm not knocking weightlifting, I just strongly regret taking a 3 year layoff from boxing to lift weights and eat a lot of food.
