As a man who has lived in several big west coast cities, New York City is like a different world for dating as an older man.

Even older women there are way hotter, more fun, more interesting and far more open to talking to new people.

A lot of it depends on what you have to offer and what you want.

Younger guy I would say a big city especially if its a college town. Similar ethnic areas too, black dudes have told me atlanta and new orleans? Older I dunno, probably the suburbs.

Your comment about HCOL rings true for me. Silicon Valley making X00k at FAANG job, but feel like we're a dime a dozen out here. Income does not equal status. Still need to have good social skills, good looks, or demonstrate high status by being a director, founder, VC, or elite Yosemite rock climber, etc. Not enough to just be talented, work your job, and live a low-key normal life.

I can buy that. Vancouver & LA are horrible in general. I spent a significant amount of time in SF when I worked in tech and that’s one big sausage fest tbh (lots of men with lots to offer on paper).

I love NYC & Montreal tho. That’s where I fell in love.

I can tell you the west coast is terrible. The quality women are with their partners from college more often than not. The gender imbalance is massive. (Often 150men:100women for single 25-34 folks) The women often can bring more to the table because the region is so expensive and they need decent jobs but it’s not guaranteed and many don’t want to climb the corporate ladder. They’re looking for a partner to work and they give up the job. It’s hard to find a high earning partner committed to working who also wants kids - and is single. They’re just unicorns that get snagged.

In NYC and the east coast - varies. Somehow women can get by on less here - idk how cause cost of living is still high but I guess you got more dense housing available like apartments. West coast is mostly houses and almost every city requires a car - so it’s not as easy. East coast has more transit and high density housing IMO. Anyway - doesn’t matter. Big problem is a lot of women are sex in the city types - and many others choose professions that literally will never make a cent. Bank of mom and dad exists here too much - and I think that bank gets cut off when you’re in your 30s and married. So, not great.

The coasts suck for most men but I can’t say the rest of the country is any better. It’s not like you’re gonna find a high earning, Ivy League, interesting, fun, and loving lady out in BFE - outside of maybe the local hospital where she’s doing her residency before she gets the fuck out of there.

It's a false to think that it would be easier to find a woman in the countryside. The rural lifestyle is different from the urban lifestyle, and young people in the countryside tend to be much more "precocious".

In the countryside, it's quite common to have your first sexual encounter at around 14, to get engaged at 19-20 and to have your first child at 21-22.

The young rural women I know are all taken, even the least attractive, and they're engaged to guys they've been dating since high school, while the young rural men I know, who missed the dating train as teenagers, are in total emotional misery at 25 and dream of living in the city to meet girls.

Bigger (not necessarily giant) cities and small, nationally-renowned wealthy suburb enclaves like Ann Arbor, Greenwich, Coral Gables, etc...

Big cities have more total populations, more niche markets, more places for you to explore, etc... maximize approaches and give you new areas to go if something happens. However, many big cities are also "glamor cities" which deliberately draw high value people. These are traditionally the high COL areas as you mentioned, where a relative abundance of higher value people makes it harder by comparison.

Depends on your definition of quality. You aren't going to find your svelte educated urbanite in a small midwest town, just as it might be hard to find attractive religious/trad-con women in big cities, so YMMV

It really depends on your values, what your SMV is, and what your standards are. Generally, larger cities with even gender ratios improve your odds, unless you have below average SMV.

Honestly you're going to have to move somewhere with heavy religious influence and join a religion to find a quality woman. For the most part, devout women are not as spoiled as typical western women but they don't ever date outside of their religion. So you just have to join a church and pretend to go through the motions for her.

I’d say DC and Chicago for sure. NYC is too big and everyone suffers due to an abundance of options that even unattractive people have. Miami is a no go for anything serious and I would avoid any place that’s relatively hot all year round too.

I think pretty much anywhere you go is going to be mostly the same. Women just have 10x more options in general. Not sure how a particular city would affect that unless the man/woman ratio is just better for men.

Also, if someone says a city is "good" for them but it was bad for you, my next question would be how tall you both are, what kind of shape you're in, etc. I think that's a significant factor as well. Any location will be "good" for Gigachad.

I plan on moving to Texas soon and I've had Mexican women flirt with me without me showing any remote interest initially(basically just acting normal.)

A lot of them were attractive too.

I definitely think Texas is an underrated option. Many Black and White women down there are friendly, hot, and charming too.

Only real con is the obesity crisis being a bit more pronounced there(like other Southern states) compared to the Northeast and the Western States.

Here is a map of where there are more women than men. Looks like your best bet is Mississippi if you're looking for quantity but I'd take any metropolitan area in a women-majority state and work from there.
