Except that women have been working before the existence of feminism. As maids, nannies, cleaners, farmers, singers, actresses, pub waitresses and other jobs who are possibly extinct in this modern century.

Feminism is against romance, (straight) relationships and marriage, not just against men. There are enough reasons to turn your back on it. If I were a feminist, my spouse wouldn't fall in love with me and I won't be in a good relationship now. No good man deserves a feminist as a girlfriend or wife.

Case in point, my son 26M. In medical field, owns half a practice, owns a 2 BR flat in a major Adelaide capital city, shares, single.

I look at girls his ages and think "what the heck do you offer?" For example, today I had a client whose daughter my son's age I used to coach in sport. "What's Sarah up to these days?" "Oh, she's a PT, doesn't have a boyfriend though. Seems to get them, just can't keep them"

I go home and do the old FB stalk on her page. Lips like a duck, tattoos on her arms and on her chest (tits out shots) and I'm thinking. Yeah, you're 26, on the cock carousel and in 4 years time you'll say "where are all the good men?"

She was a lovely girl when she was 15 and I coached her, and I hate to say it but if she hooked up with my son, she would move in and after the minimum 3 years of de facto, she walks out (possibly with rug rat) and then she talks half of his money and if there is a rug rat, he's down the hole for 18 years. Then I have some shitty grandkid who hates my son, never sees him, is not allowed to see me, but expects $$$.

The reason is simple: In nature, only the top 20% of men reproduce, so we naturally are prepared to live alone, unlike women. Yes, we are naturally prepared to be incels.

Nowadays women believe they don't need men because their main providers are the government and the corporations, but they forget that it is men's taxes that ultimately pay the bills.

Also, even if their necessities are covered by government/corporations, they still do not handle loneliness as well as men. To the point they go insane, at very high rates.

They mean they are quite happy with the services provided by the countless MEN supporting and protecting her on her carefree journey 'finding herself' on some Greek island.

It means when she gets home she never needs to think about how the food is created and actually gets to the supermarket or how the water miraculously comes out of the tap or how that thing on the ceiling magically shines brightly when she flicks a switch located nowhere near it.

Relationships were historically transactional. Especially marriage.

It’s only in recent times, maybe the last 80 years (in the west), where people got into relationships because they WANTED to, not needed to. Women can be successful, happy and rich without male support.

So that’s the idea of, I don’t need a man, but I do want one.

Some women go to the extreme and ditch dating all together and from the women I know IRL who have gone down that route, it’s because their partner treated them like a second mom and because a burden. They’d rather be alone and happy, then partnered and turn into a miserable nag.

Nobody here is gonna like hearing this, but given the historical context of women actually literally needing a man (as explained in the article), "I don't need a man" is probably at least as valid as as men saying "MGTOW".

Both phrases are a gender expressing that there are enough problems in the current dating market that trying to date isn't worth it for them anymore. You can argue who has more justification for those feelings, but both sets of feelings are super valid. And on the "I don't need a man side", the historical context and contrast does add to the meaning and power of the message.

As a feminist-sympathetic person who ended up here and will probably be bullied a lot but that's alright. I think it's a good and positive thing to say that "I don't need a man". Historically, women had to be dependent on men for everything. These days, that's not true. You're not longer needed (this doesn't mean you're of less value, you're a human being with your own wants and feelings) the same way you were.

And that's great. "I don't need a man" sounds insulting, because you're used to thinking that everything is, kind of, for you to use or engage with. It's common in men. Any social or online space you go to, especially before 2010, you'll see men dominating every space, whether is video games or anything. So you sort of get conditioned into feeling like all those spaces are for you, or in this case, like women have to need you.

And the same way men feel when they're are female-only spaces, where originally, all spaces are for men, you feel like you are being rejected. And i do honestly understand that. But you need to understand that some people and some spaces just aren't for you.

A world where women don't need men and men don't need women is a far better world. You can still want and like others, but having the freedom to choose is great.

So yes, women don't need men, atleast as much as they used to, and that's that. And this doesn't mean you're less. These women don't define their worth as "how valuable am i to men" and you shouldn't define your worth as "how valuable am i to women"

Just as most women would like to be loved…just from a stand point where they can choose by who and have the possibility to leave, if the man mistreats them…women saying they “don’t need a man”, are not saying they don’t want a man and I’m sure, if they are lucky to meet one that actually treats them as an equal partner and not as a wife and/or mother/caretaker, the two will have a good chance of living a long and primarily happy life together and even when life treats one of them hard, they will have eachothers support, making it easier to get through together.

Op, you can find love. You can even find a woman who “needs” you. I have a friend like that, I need them. We’ve been friends for years and on a mental/emotional level I do need them. If they were to ghost me one day I would be hurt, would survive but I guess I’m nitpicking now.

When women say they don’t need men…who the hell needs a random anybody. I don’t need most men, but I do appreciate the contributions of some. Beyond contribution and utility, I would need to meet a man who is right for me to even consider “needing” him. Side note though: most ppl who can care for themselves don’t “need” most ppl in their lives, but they do want them.

Long story short, find a person who wants you and love them so well (make sure they love you back) and watch that want transform into need.

Lastly, I’m not sure what’s this thing about some ppl here trying to siphon value from what arbitrary members of any gender says, but it’s unhealthy af.

However, because we ENJOY being together, he does the garbage, I do the cooking. Because we WANT to be together, he keeps the oil taken care of, and I do the laundry.

It's very few women who have the resources to be a single Mother: they need the support of another person and the provision of sperm to make a baby; it's the way nature and sexual reproduction works for human beings. In addition, any child needs role models for identification purposes and whilst women can be this for girls, they can't be the identification model for boys.

Basically, men are an integral part of the biology of sexual reproduction, upon which most of our DNA is based: abilities that allow us to survive long enough to reproduce and continue (and hopefully improve) the species.

I don't think women have thought through their desire to #killallmen, or at least make men redundant: without men, sexual reproduction can not occur and genes will not combine in variations which leverage the potential for being more resiliant to disease or having other beneficial qualities. If women turn to a small group of men simply to provide sperm, they have created a slave group: that is not a civilised development and I do not give favourable odds of that civilisation surviving. Females also form henpecked hierarchies within themselves: if some women think they are oppressed now, they will be equally oppressed in a matriarchy, just oppressed by other women, but with no-one else to blame.

In an all-women society, who supports women having babies when they all potentially are going through the same demanding experience or society whilst they are all on maternity leave?

Like it or not, human beings are locked within their biology until they decide to change it radically from sexual reproduction to something else, in which case we will no longer be men and women, suited to the practice of sexual reproduction.

Women still haven't accepted the reality of consequence, responsibility, sacrifice required and duality inherent in sexual reproduction: they can't have it all and there is always a price to be paid.
