I don’t know what to do. My ex of sorts told me she is pregnant. She insists I pay for the abortion. And she’s been sending me handwritten letters on behalf of our unborn child claiming she has a psychic connection with the embryo. Yes, you read that right.🙄Don’t even know how to handle this mind rape of sorts.😔

Some background: Met a person for drinks I’ve known from afar for years. She’s in a poly situation but wanted to casually date me. Went with the flow but things went south right away. She’s still married to a serial cheater who has two children together. She tried to sexually leave him for her bi-female best friend but hoping to remain a “triad”with the husband to raise the children together. But hubby manages to steal her bestie for himself and they become girlfriend and boyfriend and she moves into their home with a child. The ‘wife’ thinks it would be a great idea for the husband and bestie to conceive a child as long as she too can be considered a mother, since she’s still legally married to her husband. They have the child but mostly renig on the offer, wanting to keep her at arms length, but still willing to tolerate her as as extended family. Fights ensure and the household is a tense and odd one, what with this estranged married couple with two biological kids, a live in girlfriend for him with a new half-sister and her own child from a previous relationship. She sorta moves on and decides to create a different poly group consisting of an insecure sex addict who publicly posts pics of them have having raunchy sex, two bi-females, and some platonic homeless man in another state she is planning to move out to her home state, claiming he’s her biggest love outta the bunch.

Fast forward to present: When I meet her on our first date, I’m told ‘some’ of this background but, again, in much different sanitized light. Still comes off as wild, but she’s highly functional on the surface and presents her situation as very progressive and poly at its finest. Okay. Me not wanting to judge her or anyone for that matter try to keep an open mind. I’m shy and awkward. Don’t have a lot of sex Or relationship experience. I go along with things.

We have a few fun romantic dates. Try to court her and we have sex three times. Once beautifully under a tree after a picnic. Yet for the our brief time together there is this slowly boiling tension I can’t put my finger on. Start to feel like I’m being poisoned and my self-worth begins to flatline. And she spends most of her time with me venting about her many relationships. Toxic drama that doesn’t sit well with me. Makes me wonder, why am I here?

Then she abruptly cuts off all ties with me, the day after her “first orgy with all her partners” meeting for the first time. She saying I don’t really satisfy her needs, anyways, which is news to me, as I was in the habit of bringing her lunch, and trying to be a shoulder to cry on, bringing her the occasional flower, etc. It was more of a nurturing friendship from me at least, and one I never imposed on her. She made it clear she wanted to call the shots, so she was in the driver seat and allowed myself to be on call, I guess.

Being awkward and shy she is able to run the show and I only ever really interact with her when she texts me or wants to go out, with me footing the bill. She seemed to crave and respond to my shy old fashioned gestures, so hurt to learn how inconsequential I was.

But in the week before everything began to fall apart and out of nowhere breadcrumbing, stonewalling, isolating, triangulation, gaslighting. It felt like some other person maybe was stepping in and covertly using her to mess with me. Or the mask simply began to slip off at this point. At times it felt like she was getting off on it, but it’s only a sense of it.

I try to be decent about the abrupt break up of sorts, wish her well, and move on, respecting her space. She texts me a couple more times and I keep my replies brief but civil, then she goes dark. I move on.

Four days ago…

…she calls me to tell me she’s pregnant. Gulp! She wants me to pay for the abortion. Blames me for everything. Says she secretly resented me for the entirety of the relationship. Says my “goodie two shoe nature” felt like fraud meant to guilt her over her choices. Um, okay. No. I try to bite my lip and says nicely that ain’t so, I’m just not a guy who gets around much.

Now frustrated, her poly circle and husband + live-in girlfriend (former bestie) are enraged with her. I’m told they hate me from afar. Never met any of them, but, um, okay.

I tell her I support her legal right to an abortion but morally I’m against it and ask if she’d consider adoption at least. She’s a birth doula by trade, so she’s typically against an abortion too, claiming to be obsessed and in-love with all things birth. But said she will make an exception in this case because of how she feels about me. Okay, that stings a lot.lol I stand my ground but reassure her I won’t try to talk her out of her decision but also unsure how to involve myself given the wackiness of everything. Also remind her that she told me there was no chance she could get pregnant and foolishly trusted her.

Then she starts sending me handwritten letters allegedly from the unborn child himself “named Jimmy” claiming a physic link here. I refuse to respond to any of this, so she ups the ante and has her mother join in the act who claims to be a psychic too who is now also communicating from beyond this realm with my unborn child.

The “psychic” letters are saying that “our son”wants to be aborted and to be supportive of all this.

Feedback: Feels like I wandered into a cult like environment where severe mental illness, sex addiction, and perhaps even sociopathy are running amok untreated. But given she is a doctor of sorts, and the way she carries herself, she highly functional on the surface, so it’s hard to wrap my mind around it. Obviously there is doubt that this child is even mine, but in the off-chance that it is I don’t want to be a deadbeat. Obviously she’s at least unstable.

Currently I feel broken, confused, violated and worthless over the whole ordeal.

Any advice?

Should I call child protective services since at least a couple of small children are suffering this toxic environment? A lawyer to protect myself? Should I just block and ghost her? Any feedback would be helpful. Thank you
