I´m going to be making a post in the future about that CDC 2010 NSIVS Survey they cite ("1 in 5" women and "1 in 71" men have been raped). That report is pure, unadulderated misandry. They deliberately worded questions and defined things to maximize the appearance of female victimization and minimize males.

I have two male friends who were raped. One of them was raped twice...by two different women. They both call it rape. One of them, the one who was raped once, is my best friend. When he was being raped he was screaming, "No no no!" and she was yelling, "Taking it you fucking asshole!" It was his ex girlfriend. She was crazy, though I didn't realize how much until much later. He broke up with her because of the crazy and didn't want to have sex with her. He's very particular about protected sex, but she forced him to have sex without a condom. He's a smaller guy and rather non-threatening. She was taller and bigger than him (at the time, she later become horribly anorexic and is now so thin I doubt she could fight the wind). He didn't want sex, and was screaming no, and yet, I, being a stupid freaking college junior, had no idea that this was even possible. I thought if he didn't want it, he would stop it.

I hate myself every time I think about how I could have helped him and I didn't. I heard everything in the dorm next door. I encouraged it. I didn't know...

Men need education on male rape from women as much as women do.

My other friend was raped while drunk by two women who were in excess of 300 lbs on two separate occasions. The story is the same both times, and no he is not lying about it. He's a Hooker in rugby. He was no match for them. They held him down by sitting on his face when he was sleeping alone drunk They crept into the room, sucked him off until he was hard, then they raped him. It sounds crazy, but both of them knew what to do to rape a guy, and he is DEAD SERIOUS about it being rape. If you talk to him, you'll know. You'll see the sickly sadness in his eyes. You see him shake when he talks about it. You know because he's so ashamed of what happened to him, he wont tell ANYONE. He told me because I'm just that close of a friend.

I have four close friends. Two of them are rape victims. Are the numbers wrong. I think they are.

Men need to be educated in male rape by women as much as women do.

What nonsense. No such thing unless possibly the boy is underage and the girl is an adult. This guy has some serious self esteem issues. I have to wonder what kind of marine he must have been and the circumstances of his discharge. In my whole life I never heard of a U.S. Marine anywhere ever complain about getting laid under any circumstances. That thing about a man having an erection and not consenting is the kind of nonsense only a woman or a lawyer would come up with. Can a man be raped? Sure, but not by a woman.

It's fantastic that female on male rape is slowly being recognised. Nobody deserves this.

As a woman, stories like this make me stop and think. For centuries it has been believed that a woman cannot rape a man, yet these days men are wanting more women to make the first move in relationships (Rightly so! - If women want to be equal to men, then why should men always be the initiator?). This story makes me realise the dilemma men face when initiating sex. As a dominant woman, I sometimes get overwhelmed with passion and want to initiate sex in a frenzied, ripping clothes off sort of way. But since lurking in this subreddit I have often stopped to think about how would I feel if the roles were reversed. It's been an eye opener for me, as now I can appreciate how it is for men. Sure, some people are submissive and some people have "rape" fantasies, but this makes me question what is consensual and what isn't when the other person likes the other to initiate in such a passionate way. When is it ok to be spontaneous with someone who one thinks would like being pinned up against the wall by an "empowered" woman, and when is it not? Even in a relationship that could present problems. Sometimes people do it because they think they are being "sexy" by being the initiator, and not because they are trying to rape.

I was living with an ex of mine a couple years ago, we had just broken up and I was in the process of moving out. I wasn't listed on her apt lease as an occupant or one of the signers and because of that she told me she could call the cops and have me kicked out at any point, rendering me homeless as the apt I had gotten wasn't ready for me to move into for a week yet. She then would push herself on me, wanting sex when I didn't want to have sex with her at all, yet I felt I couldn't refuse or she would make good on her threat to have me tossed into the street. There are a lot of ways for a woman to coerce a man into sex.

When i was in the military and was at a new unit. All the guys were talking and laughing about the slutty girl who just left the unit. Great article, thanks for sharing. I was raped in high school by an upperclassman on the football team and didn't even think about it as rape until I was much older. No one did. Everyone in school knew that he was raping underclassmen and the worst thing thing anyone ever did was call him a douchebag or faggot in private. Unbelievable. Had he raped a couple dozen female underclassmen he'd still be in jail and the whole community would have been traumatized.

This happened to me one night. I needed a ride home from the bar and the only person around was this girl who was mostly a nasty bitch most of the time but she lived close to me.
