I say this as an outsider and somebody who followed the title ix stuff at the time in disbelief, but in fairness though, Trump is a moron and deserves everything they throw at him.

You know what, I re-read my comment and actually no, I don't believe Trump is a moron. What he has achieved is rightfully impressive, and nobody thought he could do it.

What I do believe is that he is an evil narcissist, I believe re-election is more important to him than any number of lives lost.

Calling him a moron suggests all of his recent actions can be put down to incompetence. He is much worse than that, his actions are all very much deliberate.

I can't be bothered to Google the rest for the sake of an internet argument.

You are welcome to disagree about all the above, it just means our moral compasses are pointing towards a different north.

You don't have to be smart to get idiots to vote for you. Many will do that based solely on the fact that you're relatable because you're almost as stupid as they are.

Well said. I hate the left vs right false dichotomy too. It's basically a swindle in the end, a divide and conquer tool.

[–]McFeely_Smackup 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

But people also think Bush Jr is a moron

Just a pedantic point, but there is no "Bush Jr". that's a meme created by the media to demean Bush, while simultaneously ignoring the fact that his election opponent is actually Al Gore Jr.

[–]Siganid 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

Sit back and try actually thinking:

If you subjected Biden to the same treatment the press has given Trump, would you think him any less of a moron?

[–]James955i -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

As it happens I recently realised as much as I find your news interesting, I was only watching clips from CNN and MSNBC, so I made a concerted effort to watch some fox news as well for balance.

I've read the lizard people theories on Reddit before (clearly it's a joke...), But I've never actually considered it could be true before I saw laura Ingraham's segments.

I don't think we have the ability to see eye to eye on this. I believe that the NHS is one of the greatest things my country offers me. I earn above the national average and am fairly healthy, I have no issues at all knowing that my taxes go to help unemployed people with even self inflicted health conditions live a better life.

Personally, I wanted it to be Bernie running against trump, I think biden is too old (so is Bernie but what are you gonna do) and the videos of him touching people are creepy. But holy shit, the only other option your messed up political system gives you is trump. He is an international laughing stock, science denier, he panders to the religious who ignore all the BS in the hope his supreme court judges will overturn Rowe v Wade, and generally comes across as purely narcissistic.

You deserve better than either candidate, you need better, but what can you do...

Jesus you took that personally, I like to think I'm decently smart for what it is worth.

I compared fox news to CNN, not Laura ingraham. I just also called Laura a lizard person.

I hope I'm wrong, let's see how it all plays out.

Governor Cuomo recently made a statement about the value of a human life, and I agree with him, human life is priceless. Your life is priceless. Your grandparents lives are priceless. Everything I've seen across fox news talks about personal freedoms, how this is affecting the economy. How it affects the listener personally.

If you had two options (I know neither is realistic and I am stretching the argument to make a point), you can have no more Corona deaths but the economy tanks. Or you can go straight back to work and lose a million souls, which do you pick.

What is your acceptable number in the name of the economy?

100,000? 500,000? Does it not matter at all provided you can get a burger and attend a trump rally?

Let me know.

[–]scyth3s -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

Trump is a moron with or without the press. He suggested injecting disinfectant, claimed windmills cause cancer, etc. Our media isn't great, but they aren't the reason trump looks like a fuckwit: that would be because he's a fuckwit

[–]Siganid 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago* (10 children) | Copy Link

Did he really?

Or are you listening to a ridiculous misinterpretation of the truth?

Bonus round if you go full retard and angrily begin attacking me for pointing out that your claims are untrue.

Trump's goal in saying those things was to get you to think, talk, and screech about him as often as possible. It obviously worked.

Who looks stupider? The puppet master, or the puppet?

[–]scyth3s 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago* (7 children) | Copy Link

Or are you listening to a ridiculous misinterpretation of the truth?

I just listened to the words he said.

Trump's goal in saying those things was to get you to think, talk, and screech about him as often as possible. It obviously worked.

Jokes on the libs...

Who looks stupider? The puppet master, or the puppet?

Definitely Trump, and whoever follows him.

Bonus round if you go full retard and angrily begin attacking me for pointing out that your claims are untrue.

Which ones?

Windmills and cancer

Obviously you're familiar with the disinfectant comment so I won't bother to link that.

[–]Siganid 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago* (6 children) | Copy Link

Which ones?

Both of the claims you made were ridiculous lies based on misinterpretation of what was said.

Of course, this is the point where you turn into a corncob and simply insist reality is whatever you make up, and goebbels the same effluent to try and make it stick.

Is that fun for you, or are you wincing in pain the entire time because you know you've made such a parody of progressive ideas that it will probably take generations to recover?

Or was that your goal all along?

[–]scyth3s -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Both of the claims you made were ridiculous lies based on misinterpretation of what was said.

They weren't though. They're just what he said taken in a reasonably literal sense, as we expect any public briefing on a serious topic to be intended.

Is that fun for you

No, it's not fun to watch a moron lead our country backwards, call a pandemic a Democrat hoax, incite his supporters to beat up Asians as revenge for "the China virus." It's embarrassing to be an American right now because of how blatant his corruption and stupidity are, yet people like you still stick your heads in the sand. It really isn't fun at all.

I enjoyed my reddit time a fuck ton more when it wasn't mostly about an idiot embarrassing my country and costing the lives or well being of my fellow citizens. But I also can't turn a blind eye just because the political climate is unpleasant, so here I am.

[–]Siganid 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link

Wow, that was a volcano of lies. You do know that shoveling more garbage on top of your steaming pile that you just got busted lying about just makes a bigger pile of garbage, right? Having a lot of false statements to make doesn't add any credibility.

so here I am.

If you stop being so dishonest things will get better.

Doesn't matter to me though. I respect your freedom to make yourself miserable trying to twist everything the president says into it's worst possible form. I did my part by pointing out how foolish it looks, but you rebuffed it so there we are.

[–]Tomodachi7 -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Anything that trump says that people rightly criticize him for gets interpreted as him playing some 'master game' 4D chess by his supporters reliably. He said a dumb thing, it's OK to admit it. It wasn't part of some grand master plan.

[–]Siganid 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I never claimed 4D chess.

I correctly pointed out that at no point did Trump unironically and explicitly direct anyone to inject disinfectant.

Not only that, none of his "supporters" understood it as an indication they should do so.

The only people who ran with that claim are the dishonest people who misinterpret everything he says constantly.

The whole thing was very obviously a snarky publicity grab that worked extremely well.

There's no "chess" involved in something like that, just a very smart guy exploiting the situation to keep himself front page news just as he's been doing all along.

I was in London before the 2016 election, and people kept asking me about Trump. I would try to steer the conversation to Sanders, who I supported at the time, but Trump's silly antics had captured that audience completely.

It takes a remarkable lack of insight to call that stupidity...

[–][deleted] 344 points345 points346 points 6 years ago (133 children) | Copy Link

The doublespeak on the Biden situation is laughable and so obviously one sided.

[–]starkify 81 points82 points83 points 6 years ago (123 children) | Copy Link

If this was Trump, oh my god he would have been CRUCIFIED weeks ago and would have lost all of his political clout.

[–]rossraskolnikov 59 points60 points61 points 6 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

Trump has loads of such accusations against him.

[–][deleted] 35 points36 points37 points 6 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

Yet zero police reports...

[–]RreZo 28 points29 points30 points 6 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Joe Biden doesn't either, his accusatory went on tmz and cnn but never once went to the police. She wanted money. And with new evidence she was proven to be lying She even changed her story.

[–]Philsie 16 points17 points18 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yet a full investigation would show the numerous times she went for help to her supervisors as proof, as well as her emails from an organization that basically said "We would like to help, but it's Joe Biden, and we are afraid of the ramification of perusing anything against him". This accusation actually has a paper trail, unlike the weak shit thrown up against Kavanaugh.

[–]RreZo 23 points24 points25 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

no u

You're the idiot because you're in a mens right subreddit and you won't actually support his right to be judged by a court. If there's no fucking evidence, inside the fucking senate hallway, where i bet there's cameras, then maybe it didn't happen

And oh now she remembered it wasn't sexual assault but it was making her uncomfortable. Boo fucking hoo. What happened to innocent until proven guilty you idiot. Or just because you support someone else he's already a rapist

P. S your article is one month old, maybe read the fuck up on shit

[+][deleted] -36 points-35 points-34 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Jeez. Triggered much loser?

[–]RreZo 14 points15 points16 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Oh im sorry is having a factual debate too harsh on you, i thought I'm the idiot.

Or maybe we should cite a few more words from dear Tara

He penetrated me with his fingers in the middle of the senate corridor

Oh but now it magically turned into "made uncomfortable"

I'd say penetration against will is rape not being made uncomfortable, but oh yeh nothing backs that up in the senate so we should change the report.

I can make you uncomfortable by clicking a pen too many times. If you have real problems to appear before the senate than back it up. And oh yeh make the report in 1993 not when he runs for president. Or better yet if you were so scared of him going in a position of power report when he became a VICE president.

But maybe she has a different agenda, like trying to get another democrat to win.

But besides any political case, he has his rights, just like Brad Kavanaugh did, just like Johnny Depp did, and just like joe biden will have

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Eh, I don’t believe Tara either.

It is the flaming hypocrisy coming from the Left about it. We had senate hearing and FBI investigations into the WAY less credible Blaisey Ford.

Once Biden gets a senate trial and an FBI investigation to clear him, then its fair.

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points12 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

[–]mellainadiba 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Of course he would. It would open and shut. I am really surprised no one has actually done a mock trial of this and YouTubed it... maybe their waiting for closer to election time. Actually there are quite a few organisations who campaign against title IX, would be worth tweeting them and telling them to do it, would expose the title IX joke to general public in a relatable way and expose how stupid it is

[–]RickWest495 14 points15 points16 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Trump absolutely would NOT have been crucified. He has gotten away with harassing multiple women. He has been accused of rape. He walks through locker rooms of naked teenage girls because “he can”. Biden is probably guilty of something. He is creepy with his touching. But he does not go down to the disgusting gutter level that is Trump. How did we end up with these two losers?

[–]douglasmacarthur 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He would have been crucified by liberals and leftists. Who arent holding Biden to the same standard.

But his supporters wouldnt care and he wouldnt be held legally accountable, no.

Trump has done literally 100s of things that would destroy any politician, much less the head of state, in any sane country. He committed treason on national television while running for office and won for fuck sake. Every second Trump is anywhere other than prison is overwhelming evidence that Trump is treated far more leniently than anyone else would be in his position.

[–]The_Best_01 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]ArthurJanusMcline 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Damn, the TDS on this one. Bro, the president of your country isn't a rapist or russian agent. I'm sorry that makes you so upset but that's the truth.

Wanna know what else is the truth?

Bidens a rapist

[–]scyth3s 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

russian agent.

Except that he trusts Vlad over our own intelligence agencies, begged Russia on national TV to hack the US Secretary of State (and Russia obliged within a fucking day). Held secret meetings in trump tower with Russian officials to discuss "adoptions."

a rapist

He publicly admitted to invading teenage girls locker rooms... He publicly admitted he grabs women by the pussy before they have a chance to resist

And now he's sabotaging our Corona virus response so he can steer profits to his friends, family, and allies.

Bidens a rapist

But this one you believe. Fucking lawl.

[–]destarolat 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago* (16 children) | Copy Link

Let me be 100% honest and say that I think you are brainwashed about Trump but I am willing to change my mind if credible evidence is presented to me.

Can you give me examples of Trump commiting a crime and getting away with it because someone protects him? And I mean credible evidence, not CNN/NYT innuendo. I am really tired of reading bullshit that leads to nothing about Trump.

[–]novdelta307 -5 points-4 points-3 points 6 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

Holy shit you're an idiot. There's so much VIDEO evidence of Trump committing crimes it's ridiculous. One Google search is all it takes.

[–]destarolat 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Then it will be very easy to give me one example with source, again one that it is not some CNN/NYT stupid innuendo. I am willing to change my mind, you just have to show me.

Also, I don't use Google.

[–]tolkienlover -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Literally the first result when I searched “Trump sexual assault”

[–]destarolat 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

How many of this women have gone to court against him?

Because as far as I know, the only ones who have gone to court against him have lost.

I get that you hate the guy and want to believe them, but that is not a crime he has gotten away with.

I really would like to see a reference to a crime Trump has committed and has gotten away with.

[–]tolkienlover 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

First you said “credible evidence” and now you’re saying “committed and gotten away with”. The article that I gave you is credible evidence that he committed a crime and got away with it. There are a litany if reasons why people don’t pursue sexual assault allegations in court (especially from years ago).

How exactly are you supposed to prove that someone did something and got away with it? The only evidence for that is people saying “hey he did something” and nothing happening. Which is exactly the evidence I gave you. I think it’s unrealistic to expect him to actually come out and say “yeah I did sexually assault those ladies and nothing happened to me”. And really, that’s the only way you can prove that someone did something.

Edit: also, just because people have lost cases in court doesn’t necessarily mean they didn’t happen. Stuff like this, especially from a long time ago, is really hard to prove beyond a reasonable doubt. So much of it is he-said-she-said. That doesn’t mean these accounts can’t be corroborated by other evidence, which a number of them have been by independent journalists. It just means it’s difficult to prove beyond a reasonable doubt.

It's useless, this sub has a lot of bitter men that admire their strong man too much to look at things rationally. Even trump knows his supporters aren't rational-- he said himself that he could shoot someone on fifth Ave and not lose a voter. He knows his voters are not swayed by facts.

What? The media crucifies him for every word he says. The running joke is that if he came out in support of breathing, the media and Democrats would hold their breaths.

Every two or three days the media is misrepresenting something he says in the hopes of drumming up a firestorm. I'm a freakin lefty who agreed with Sanders in 2016, and the left has been so insufferably determined to paint Trump as the worst person to have ever lived that they pushed me towards supporting him.

Don't insult Trump supporters as if they're all idiots. It's a stupid way to dismiss your opponent's real arguments, and makes you look bad to everyone who doesn't already blindly agree with you. I think the man has done a pretty good job as president, despite his many faults. So if I can admit his faults, and still support him, then there must be more than blind allegiance at play. Maybe you should ask why people who can see his flaws still support him. Maybe you'd have a more complete perspective of the supposed idiots you dismiss.

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points14 points 6 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link

Trumps supporters believe the mainstream media is against them (with some cause) and so it doesn't matter what they say about him, unfortunately. It's a dangerous situation to have - an executive with hugely expanded powers thanks to Bush, but with hugely diminished oversight on those powers thanks to an effectively neutralised fourth estate. America is ripe for a messy transition of power under those conditions.

You're not fooling anyone.

Yes, he's been accused. But you know what's great? Moderates and right wingers don't cancel people over old allegations that can't be proven.

I actually don't think there's enough evidence to cancel Biden either. But the terms Biden and the Democrats chose to play by were "believe all women". So yeah, I don't really care if he gets torn apart by his progressive supporters.

Also, we have video evidence of him being extremely touchy with young women, and making inappropriate comments to them. What is there against Trump except accusations and locker room comments? If Trump is convicted on those allegations, fair enough, but if the courts don't have the evidence to convict him, then strangers on the internet definitely don't either, and it's a moot point.

Isn't there a rape suit against Trump with DNA evidence against him but he doesn't want to submit his own DNA for a test against it? I'm all for not believing everything men are accused against without proof, but you have to admit he's not painting himself in a positive light by not clearing his name officially. Biden's just openly all grabby feely but Trump seems to have an equally long if not worse history of sexual allegations and behaviors that don't exactly make him look like a saint. I'm not calling him a rapist, but I wouldn't vouch for him not being a rapist with how much he talks about being all grabby on women and with his record of just walking in on little girls so normally

Trump's bad but he's just so openly bad nobody really computes that he should be caught and he obviously doesn't care about his public image aside from his supporters so it works for him.

[+]itsforthenguyen -20 points-19 points-18 points 6 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

Sexual abuse survivor here.

Without any political bias I would believe Trump has raped women and girls before based on his similarities to the men who've assaulted me countless times throughout my life. Biden doesn't strike me as the kind who could get away from that kind of stuff and hasn't been mired in enablers like Trump (birds of a feather flock together).

I struggle with the reasons why pedophiles abuse little girls and boys and the root is simply that there is a lack of empathy or insight. A narcissist's pleasure is more important than anyone's suffering, even if it's lifelong, as lo g as they can get away with it.

So in short, because Trump has very clear narcissistic tendencies with questionable behaviors towards women, he's more likely to have been presented with opportunities to prey on women, his choice of "pleasure".

[–]emokantu 10 points11 points12 points 6 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

So he's guilty because you say so? "He reminds me of the people who do" is already a bad argument, but especially so when you're taking about someone you have never even talked to

[+]itsforthenguyen -9 points-8 points-7 points 6 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I'm not in any position to say he's guilty or innocent. That's for "fair" courts to decide.

But a man with wealth can get away with crimes, if they committed any, against people without wealth in our current justice system. Trump has wealth. If he were inclined to, he has a lot of advantages than the average man to get away with sex crimes, especially when they're so hard to prove.

I would be more surprised about Biden being one than Trump, that's really all there is to it.

[–]ArthurJanusMcline 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I am not a man hater either. I have loving relationships with PEOPLE, men, women, whatever. You're free to believe anything about me, since you also don't know me.

But just know you're further shaming a legitimate survivor into pointing out something that she sees with her experience: a person like Trump fits the profile of a sexual deviant moreso than most people.

And AGAIN, whether he's truly one or not isn't up to me to decide, but my opinion (which everyone has a right to!) is that he fits the profile. Just as much as you can think whatever about me.

[–]Dood567 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"Biden doesn't strike me as the kind who could get away"

Yet he's being immediately dismissed by everyone isn't he. I think the best type of person to commit a crime is the person who nobody would even think of blaming. Trump supporters are gaining steam because they've discovered that Democrats weren't really being truthful about giving every woman a voice to be heard. If it wasn't for Trump's failures at handling the coronavirus, he'd probably end up easily beating Biden again.

How sad is that. The Democratic nominee is most likely only going to win not because people are enthusiastic about what he has to say, but because their only other option was some idiot who thought using Lysol wipes on the inside of your lungs might be a good idea.

He’s been accused of sexual misconduct, but not assault or rape. And, by his words, the women who accused him of the misconduct “weren’t attractive enough” for him to pursue them in the first place. [–][deleted] 143 points144 points145 points 6 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link

This is the same fucking moron that says women don’t make false rape claims. Fucking idiot is basically saying all those guys who got off their false rape claims are rapists but they got off So the reason that 85% of rape claims are unsuccessful is that the law isn’t any good and women never lie and that if your a man and are accused of rape then you are A rapist anyway. So by his rationale thinking he too is a rapist. And even if he is tried and found innocent of being a rapist then he is still a rapist. So from now on should we just refer to him as Joe Biden the rapist?

[–]bluefootedpig 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I don't think he ever said "women don't make false rape claims", he said to believe them, which is like saying, "trust but verify". Just like if I go in and say I as assaulted by a woman, I would hope the police believe me and not dismiss my case because, "a man can't be hurt by a woman".

If you want police to believe you when you get assaulted by a woman, then we want police to believe potential victims and not dismiss them.

[–]genobeam 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

"Believe" implies that you should believe they're true. Why would you need to verify if you believe?

As to your police example police generally do take accusations seriously but they don't blindly believe accusations. If an investigation doesn't come up with sufficient evidence the case does not move to prosecution. Most cases don't have sufficient evidence to move to prosecution and some people use that statistic to claim police don't take cases seriously.

Here are some stats to consider: https://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/c6p1kk/case_outcomes_damning_evidence_against_current/

Some people use the "only 20% of accusations lead to an arrest" stat to imply that police dont take accusations seriously, but the fact is that a police investigation doesn't turn up sufficient evidence for an arrest in 80% of cases.

Cases that don't lead to an arrest are for reasons such as

  • the accusation does not fit the definition of a crime (accusation was true but not a criminal offense)
  • the victim did not cooperate with investigators (did not provide statement, provided false statements, recanted, etc.)
  • investigation found that the accusation was false (keep in mind this is a different category than false victim statements, this category requires hard evidence like video records that prove the accused did not commit the crime)
  • No offender identified

So yes only 20% of accusations to police lead to arrest because 80% of accusations don't meet the criteria for an arrest.

[–]denyjunctionfunction -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You left off the biggest reason: lack of sufficient evidence. Most cases end up being he said/she said which often don’t give enough support to allow an arrest/prosecution to happen.

[–]genobeam 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Most cases in the "he said she said" category are not dropped by police. Typically if there is an accusation that isn't proved false, the accusation actually fits the definition of a crime, and the alleged victim cooperates with authorities the accusation will lead to prosecution.

here's the breakdown: (https://www.evawintl.org/Library/DocumentLibraryHandler.ashx?id=1223)

Closed as informational report 17.9%
Suspended/inactivated 28.6%
Exceptionally cleared 17.9%
Unfounded (baseless 8.5%, false 7.1%): 15.6%
Cleared by arrest: 20%

Informational Reports are reports of an incident that does not meet the elements of a crime.

Unfounded reports are cases cleared "if the investigation shows that no offense occurred nor was attempted". These cases can be classified as False OR Baseless.

False Reports can only determined to be false on the basis of evidence that the crime was not committed or attempted. A case cannot be classified as false if the investigation produced "insufficient evidence" or of no investigation was conducted.

Baseless reports are reports that do not meet the elements of the offense or those that were improperly coded as a sexual assault. These are separate from informational reports in that these are reports that have been officially recorded as a crime reports. When this happens, the proper administrative procedure for clearing the report is to unfound it but because it is baseless (i.e., the element of force has not been met). Note that cases cannot be unfounded on the basis of findings from a coroner, court, jury, or prosecutor. Cases that were unfounded by these methods would still be classified as "cleared by arrest" by police.

Suspended/Inactivated Cases are cases that were not pursued for various reasons including victim non-participation, lack of victim statement, no perpetrator identified, or as you say, lack of evidence to proceed to prosecution.

Exceptionally Cleared Cases are cases which are not able to follow the steps to clear an offense by arrest. These cases must answer all of the following questions in the affirmative: 1. Has the investigation definitely established the identity of the offender? 2. Is there enough information to support an arrest, charge, and turning over to the court for prosecution? 3. Is the exact location of the offender known so that the subject could be taken into custody now? 4. Is there some reason outside law enforcement control that precludes arresting, charging, and prosecuting the defender?

Some examples of exceptionally cleared cases: suicide of the offender, offender killed by police, extradition denied, victim refuses to cooperate in the prosecution (the answer must also be yes to questions 1, 2, and 3 for this to be cleared by exceptional means.), Offender is prosecuted by state or local authorities in another city for a different offense or is prosecuted in another city or state by the federal government for an offense which may be the same.

As you can see from the stats, "he said, she said" type accusations are not the majority (although some certainly fit into the suspended/inactivated category)

I'm not following... Biden is asking for an investigation, Kav expressly limited it (Trumps admin did that is). Kav had multiple accusers. Biden's accusers story has changed. She said she submitted a report, but now says that the report doesn't mention assault. She said she filed a complaint with the admin, but never mentioned biden. Biden's accuser went on to recommend him, and work with him for awhile.

Fun fact, and mostly meaningless I believe, Bidens accuser supported Russia for awhile, but now says she was misguided.

I wanted an investigation with Kav, I want one with Biden, and it seems most liberals are okay with that. So what are you confused on? Or what am i doing for mental gymnastics?

The only thing I can think of is people don't realize that this is an older story, covered already by multiple news outlets, and they all basically found that the story doesn't really stand up to scrutiny. I don't watch fox, but I would imagine if this story was true, it would be huge and fox would have wall to wall coverage on it, but it seems to be closer to a footnote.

------

On the flip, what about the mental gymnastics of the right? Kav who admitted to going to frat parties shouldn't be investigated if the frat parties resulted in sexual assault, but Biden should be investigated because of a single person that has already been looked into? Isn't that mental gymnastics as well?

I Believe Tara Reade. I’m Voting for Joe Biden Anyway

I’ll take one for the team. I believe Ms. Reade, and I’ll vote for Mr. Biden this fall.

I won’t say it will be easy. I have been writing on and agitating for women’s equality since “The Feminine Mystique” came out in 1963. I know how supposedly “liberal” men abused the sexual revolution in every imaginable way. I am unimpressed by their lip service to feminism, their Harvard degrees or their donations to feminist causes.

In 1998, I was one of a few establishment feminists to argue on behalf of Monica Lewinsky, when the unofficial representative of the movement, Gloria Steinem, threw her under the bus in the pages of The New York Times to protect Bill Clinton. I maintained my position until, two decades and a #MeToo movement later, Ms. Steinem issued a non-apology for the essay. So I hate, hate, hate to say the following.

Suck it up and make the utilitarian bargain.

Just appalling how they will claim to believe Tara Reade and call themselves feminists, but will still vote for Biden anyways.

vs... Trump who has a line out the door of women accusing him? Or the fact that Trump's attorney is in jail for a crime that the president personally signed a check... aka he is an accomplice to the crime.

You can complain that both are horrible choices, but it isn't like they are equal. Just remember that Trump admits to walking in on women changing. I'm not sure how any feminist would support someone that brags about walking in on changing rooms and sexually assaulting women.

[–]creamer143 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What are you even going on about with this "whataboutism"? I never insinuated they should vote Trump instead. That would be a false dichotomy. Simply put, for the reasons you stated, the "believe all women" mindset is enough for these people to never vote for Trump. But when an allegation is leveled against Biden, they will cast their morals and ethics aside and vote for him anyway. These people have little to no moral or ethical credibility, so long as Trump loses and blue team wins.

Hypocrisy is not hard to find in any political party.

Democrats:

  • gender identity is all that matters, you are the gender you want to be

  • Rachel Dolezal (a white woman who claimed to be black) is a monster and cannot pretend to be black

  • believe all women

  • dont believe that woman

  • the law is sacred, we must live by the letter of the law

  • I dont like that amendment, get rid of guns

Republicans:

  • the second amendment is sacred, the right to bear arms is fundamental
  • if that black guy didnt want to get shot by the police he shouldnt have been carrying a gun
  • the government does too much, let's starve it with zero taxes
  • we need more tanks, buy more tanks
  • family values! this is a christian nation
  • that was locker room talk, he was joking
  • poor people become dependent on welfare, ACA, etc. we should cut them off even if a few people will die
  • rich people need less taxes (help from the government)

That's just off the top of my head. At least the Democrats are less likely to kill you. So far.

I guess there is no real difference between Republicans or Democrats. Their moral compass seems to work if and only if it's politically convenient. [–]Svenskbtch 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A perspective from Europe.

The hypocrisy is, of course, startling. Not that the other side can wash its hands in holy water, as it were. But still.

But how is this reasonably going to play out? The ones that strongly support the Dear Colleague-style tough line on sexual assault will almost inevitably see Biden as the lesser of two evils and, albeit begrudgingly, have to support him. Now that even Warren, who helped oust Franken based on, to my mind, scanter evidence, has joined these ranks, then who is left?

The other question, of course, is what we do if we conclude in some fashion that Biden (or Trump) is more likely than not to have committed some kind of sexual assault. Does that disqualify him?

One of my biggest grievances with him apart from him actually be deceased is how he always goes back on his policy and conveniently changes his mind to help him self out. He doesn’t have any beliefs he just wants to be back in the spotlight and doesn’t care what morals he sacrifices. Take abortion, the Hyde act, and now this as an example.

  2. The topic was not about rape in his case. It was about him grabbing pussy because he was a celebrity. If someone did not want their pussy grabbed he was powerful enough to get away with it.

[–]MetaCognitio 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Bud, the entire thing is explained by Trump thinking it was consensual conduct.

Someone thinking something is consensual while not actually checking for consent does not make it completely fine. If I think it is okay for me to enter your house and chill out on the couch, eat your food but don't actually okay to do it without checking it is okay with you. But hey, the door was open! You just let me enter!

'Grabbing' implies he just touched them. It was not touching something when you know it is okay, you just grab. If I grab your arm, I do so possibly by force. There was no consideration as to if they were scared, shocked, intimidated by him owning the Ms World competition, were scared of talking about someone so powerful etc. Sure there were likely some that may have been down but he did not know and did not seem care to.

To cap it off, there are lots of women that have complained about what he did... it was not consensual. It was not okay.

Like I said, you're and idiot. Defend your orange emperor all you want. I'm done arguing with fools.

[–]RealJamesAnderson 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]go_fuck_your_mother 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I think this is a good example of feminists harming their own interests.

Biden says horseshit like 'believe all women'. A woman accuses Biden of rape. Some of his political base hold him to his own retarded standard and it hurts him politically.

Women accuse Trump. Trump doesn't give a fuck about women's rights or anybody else's rights, except maybe 'Christian' fanatics and other degenerates. Trump pays basically zero political price.

Now let's assume two hypotheticals: Biden is innocent (which he probably is), and it costs Biden the election anyway. Feminists have now elected a man who doesn't give a fuck about them, by destroying a man who did nothing wrong except buy into their own retarded belief system.

[–]e1337chin[S] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It's not in the manifesto that I know of. As much as I know its a bit of a misquote from Goebbels 1934 Nuremberg address "The cleverest trick used in propaganda against Germany during the war was to accuse Germany of what our enemies themselves were doing." but these things happen and every political side is inconsistent. Hello friend! Am proud liberal (ie. Support Sanders or Warren over Biden), and I believe creepy Joe needs his day in court! I'm very far left, but I think men's rights are still just as important as women's rights, and are largely glossed over. This sub is very obviously right leaning, but even if we are a minority we are an important part of the movent. It discredits the movement when we get labeled as far right extremists who hate women. They're here (sorry guys but this subs quality tanked with the bans of multiple other subs), but it's not a culmination of the movement, and our concerns are absolutely valid. I will be voting Biden, because he's not credibily convicted of any sexual misconduct and he's not Trump.

Yes we are the minority but that does not make your contributions any less important, in fact I think it makes us more important. When people (irl) see liberal people opening the discussion to men's rights in a fact based and logical manner, it validifies the movement they previously ignored as a far right extremist hate group. We have access to talk to and open up minds that would otherwise dismiss our concerns.

[–]MetaCognitio 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You're not alone. I'm pretty far on the left end of the political spectrum. My opinions on feminism and mens rights aren't in line with some others who are also on that end of the political spectrum. Fortunately, associating with a certain political group or leaning doesn't mean I have to agree with everything that's associated with them. I can vote for a Democrat while disagreeing with some of their platform, even strongly disagreeing, because I think they happen to be the better choice and their ideals line up with my own more on other issues. That means I support some politicians that this subreddit would rather I didn't, but it happens that I care about other issues, too.

I find myself disappointed when see people try to tie this subreddit to partisan politics or try to lump in unrelated political leanings... and the other comments actually laughing at you for not being on the right wing are part of a big problem with this movement, in my opinion.

[–]pinkeythehoboken22 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You must be lost and or stupid. Does the left strike you as a party concerned with men’s rights?

[–]starkify 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don’t believe that he’s saying that the Democratic Party stands for men’s rights. I think he’s saying that he agrees with more of what the DNC stands for than the GOP, making him a liberal. You’re judging him on one topic, not his holistic outlook on politics. I am here, you’re here, and he’s here because we all believe that men are suppressed by society and that we need to reverse that trend. That one measure doesn’t mean that we’re all hard right wing conservatives, just like saying you’re for women’s rights doesn’t mean you’re a hard left wing liberal. He never said that the DNC stands for men’s rights, but it’s something that he change if he had the power to. That’s why we have the first amendment to try to make change.

When I became an anti-feminist I was very much a liberal. I'm not anymore, I'm not a socialist, but still.. all it's changed is my view that both MRA and feminists are both ignoring and blowing shit up to spite each other.

[–]KngpinOfColonProduce 10 points11 points12 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The right is no better. Tradcons want men as the usual workhorse slave of the family, and believe men and women should be treated differently. Sexual assault allegations are taken seriously or not based on whether it affects a man on their side or the other side. E.g. the left: "Trump is a rapist", the right: "Bill Clinton is a rapist," which was everywhere on T_D.

[–]RealJamesAnderson -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I just wanted to say that T_D is not representative of the right as a whole.

[–]RealJamesAnderson 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think it's more than people who would have been considered left or centrist in the past are now considered to be on the right because the left is moving more and more drastically left.

[–]starkify 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I’m generally pretty centrist and, according to the political compass test, am a right leaning centrist who is for men’s rights. (I am an Andrew Yang supporter)

[–]Halafax 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Andrew "our country is deeply misogynist and most all of us know that." Yang?

He threw men under the bus as fast as he could, trying to pander to what Democrats wanted to hear.

[–]starkify -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Our country is deeply misogynist. He’s not saying that women are better than men, nor is he saying that men are better than women. He’s saying that men and women are equal in society and play their roles in it too. That’s what we’re all here for, or at least I hope so. Anyone who comes from a viewpoint of “men are better than women” clearly come from a misogynistic viewpoint.

[–]Halafax 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

He’s not saying that women are better than men, nor is he saying that men are better than women. He’s saying that men and women are equal in society and play their roles in it too women are victims and men are dangerous.

Which was exactly what the progressives in the DNC wanted him to say, and they still pitched him over the side of the boat anyway. No matter what he said, they weren't going to support him, and after he caved in they rubbed it into his face.

Society is not "deeply misogynist", and claiming it is overlooks the vast number of ways that society cares about women in ways it refuses to care about men.

[–]starkify 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

We’re further than ever before as a society of having men and women on an equal playing field, but there’s still a lot to do. I live in a liberal affluent area so all I’ve ever seen is men and women being equals and the same goes for all minorities. When I look outside of areas like mine, I see a lot of misogyny, especially the Deep South bleeding heart rednecks. They make up more of the population than you think, and they’re the ones that cause the most issues. I cannot deny that women are given many more opportunities than men for the things in our liberal affluent areas, but outside of those areas they aren’t.

I’ll be honest with you, the more I think about it the more I remember all the special treatment the girls in my life have gotten, and how not a single man has been given the same special treatment once unless they acted very feminine. So, I have to say that I let some of my simping emotions get the best of me, and rationality is reminding me of all the times men like myself have been screwed over by society solely based on our gender. My emotions make me think that misogyny and masculinity are the same thing, and my rationality knows that they’re 2 completely different things. I suppose that the literature I’ve been reading during quarantine has taken a hold of my emotions, not my rationale. That means I have failed as a man, but it’s a lesson for me to repent on that and better myself. I apologize for embarrassing myself and making me look like the ultimate simp. I personally like a lot of the policy ideas of Andrew Yang, and I tried to back him on something that I don’t fundamentally agree with for who knows what reason.

[–]Lupinfujiko -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Who here is a liberal yet stands up for men's rights, or am I in the minority?

How can you be?

The Liberal establishment is clearly anti men. Misandric talking points like "toxic masculinity" and "the patriarchy" are two prominent examples.

How can you possibly support a Liberal cause whose entire existence wants to see you removed, humiliated and censored from society?

[–]pinkeythehoboken22 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Conservative ideals want to keep you in chains, and treat you as dangerous and disposable.

You can be liberal without being feminist

[–]Lupinfujiko -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Conservative ideals want to keep you in chains, and treat you as dangerous and disposable.

No they don't. What are you talking about.

Modern Conservative values want you to be free.

You can be liberal without being feminist

No you can't. Not anymore. Our governments have made sure of that.

[–]pinkeythehoboken22 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Talking about the conservation of traditional roles and ideals. Like if you're the man, you have to get a job and provide for your family, also conservative ideals are more lenient towards the sentencing disparity between men and women, because men are seen as a more "traditional threat to society."

You can be liberal without being feminist

No you can't. Not anymore. Our governments have made sure of that

No idea what you mean by that, but if that's what you actually believe, I think we're done here.

Edit: I forgot disposable, who traditionally fought the wars, who traditionally has the more dangerous jobs, who gets to go first off the sinking ship or out of a burning building, traditionally.

Because isn't that what conservativism is, conserving traditional american culture?

[–]Lupinfujiko -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Talking about the conservation of traditional roles and ideals.

Firstly, I don't see anything wrong with that.

Secondly, it's not like liberalism does this fairly in any sense.

You never hear liberalism complaining there aren't enough garbagewomen or boiler makers. You never hear liberalism complaining there aren't enough male teachers or nurses.

If Feminism were about "equality", they would argue in favour of these imbalances.

If liberalism were about changing gender roles in society, they would be fighting to include these points in the discussion.

But they don't. Because they only focus one way.

Like if you're the man, you have to get a job and provide for your family,

By the way, you still have to do that if you're a Liberal. Justin Trudeau is a great example.

conservative ideals are more lenient towards the sentencing disparity between men and women, because men are seen as a more "traditional threat to society."

I don't agree that's true.

Certainly liberalism doesn't mind about the Sentencing Gap. I haven't heard one liberal politician even once bring it up.

About black/white Sentencing Gap, sure. You hear that all the time. About the male/female Sentencing Gap, crickets.

Edit: I forgot disposable, who traditionally fought the wars,

Yes. Liberalism continues to argue in favour of male disposability, correct.

Which is exactly why we need to abandon the Liberal hypocritical agenda.

Because isn't that what conservativism is, conserving traditional american culture?

If that were true, the opposite would be liberalism wants to destroy traditional American culture.

I don't think that's better. Do you? Would you like to see your country destroyed because of an ideological position?

[–]RealJamesAnderson 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

People don't make their decision based on one stance. For many people who are voting right, it's because they don't like how dangerously left the left is going. You know not everyone shares the same opinion as you as to who would be better in power, so you don't need to treat it like you know how everyone would vote. I also find it interesting that the two times I posted that comment on this thread, one has 9 upvotes, and the other has a downvote.

[–]scyth3s 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

For many people who are voting right, it's because they don't like how dangerously left the left is going.

From what I can see, there is only one issue with a far left stance in this county with any sort of mainstream traction, and it's the one in this thread: the way rape accusations get handled in the public sphere.

We have no one advocating far left Healthcare, far left economic policy, far left gun policy (again, with mainstream traction-- O'Rorke tried it and got politically destroyed over it).

You know not everyone shares the same opinion as you as to who would be better in power,

Most of those who disagree are voting against their own interests. I rent to a guy who works at a grocery store who thinks republican tax cuts for the rich will help him. He railed against Obama's death panels... Despite the fact that the ACA made them basically illegal, and they weren't illegal before.

Some people disagree with me and think Republicans are better to steer the ship. Some of them are rich and selfish, but most are not and have simply been misled.

I also find it interesting that the two times I posted that comment on this thread, one has 9 upvotes, and the other has a downvote.

Don't cry about downvotes, it's not a good look. I also basically never use the vote buttons.

Yes is interesting to note the difference in how mainstream media is responding to these allegations compared to Christine Blasey Ford’s, for example. USA Today, or any other neoliberal media outlets, we’re not publishing pieces skeptical of Ford, and that allegation had far less substance.

It shows how politically biased these news outlets are. For example, the article you linked attempts to poke holes in Tara Reades story (unfairly imo), but in the same article, gives credence to the allegations against Trump, which were farrr less substantial.

This article even touts the Russian conspiracy theory that has effectively been debunked and seems to suggest, unbelievably, that Tara Reade is connected to Russia.

Hopefully this teaches you something about bias in mainstream media.

[–]a-man-from-earth -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You're right about the media bias. The good thing tho, is that now people are starting to realize that metoo went too far, and that we shouldn't unconditionally believe all accusations.

And I would say that the Ford case and the Reade case are very similar: allegedly happened decades ago, but came to the forefront at a politically opportune time (and everyone who's watched House of Cards knows how that works), vague on details, lack of evidence.

Subscribe to ideas like "race realism" and "cultural Marxism" and are known to woefully misunderstand theories in evolutionary psychology of which they seem to apply with a heavy hand. Easy to spot in the wild, although rare due to furious redditing. Look out for ill-fitting mid-level business attire, a fragile facade of flimsy confidence, and acting out in quick bursts of aggression (especially towards women) between veiled attempts at stoicism. Interactions will feel forced and awkward like a cousin that hits on you. Topics tend to stay in a narrow range of what they believe men and women are attracted to and will rarely stray. Topics include: lifting, their car, their income, their job, and they have no problems telling women what women are thinking (even as women are backing away slowly). All successes are likely exaggerated, and when out of options, they will just bring up the accomplishments of others who are men and attribute those accomplishments to manliness in an attempt to feel like they have something over other large groups of the population."

Biden made these rules and he should be judge by them. No legal representation, no chance to cross examine the accuser, no informing of the actual accusations ... a student has zero chance of defending themselves.
