I feel like the manosphere has made hating Valentines the cool thing to do. Specifically, women who hate Valentines day. Part of being a Cool Girl. If you enjoy Valentines Day, your a high maintenance bitch. It's always, 'Valentines day is to commercialized', so what? So is every other holiday. 'Or we love each other all year.' Well, Valentines Day is part of year. Also, if you do it all year, then you should have no problem pampering your partner one day a year.

Ultimately, Valentines Day is a holiday that celebrates love and gives you a chance to love and be loved by your partner, in a special way.

How can that be a bad thing?

This was supposed to be my first Valentine’s Day with a partner. But I ended things with him a few days ago and I have absolutely no regrets. He went around telling our mutual friends that he had nothing planned for the day and wasn’t planning to put in any effort. He knew this was important and special to me but knowing he was going to do nothing absolutely killed me. I decided right then and there that I would not allow for my day to be ruined. I broke up with him and he was “blindsided” by it. Yes I tried to cOmUnIcAtE with him about how horrible it made me feel but the truth is, if a man hates you, he won’t change. I doubt he ever even cared or liked me. Good riddance to him and his emotional cheating ass. He’s been begging for me back, begging for contact, begging for closure he will never get. The entitlement is disgusting to me, as he even had the audacity to wish me a happy Valentine’s Day as his last and final mindfuck. I’m glad to be single and at peace this Valentine’s Day.

We just went to the store and my son asked the cashier how many flowers they have sold today. She said it wasn't as many as usual on valentine's. I wonder why?

I got myself and my friend tulips 🌷. Got another friend a cute personalized gift. We reserved a table for tonight at a fancy restaurant, and it's going to be a blast!

Dates with my friends are always a guaranteed amazing time 💕

My bestie usually works the floral department of the fancy grocery store she runs on Valentine's Day.

Every year, before noon, I get a "Men are trash wtf is wrong with them" text. You wouldn't believe how many cheap scrotes want to gift a woman a bouquet of baby's breath and carnations.

I was pleased to see today in the street quite a few young guys (18-20 I'd say) hurrying along with big bouquets and roses, or escorting their girlfriend (who now held the flowers) looking super in love, holding hands , kissing every chance they got, etc. with the enthusiasm of young love.

Obviously I don't know what's going on behind the scenes, but they looked so cute and I indulged in feeling optimistic that there's hope for the younger generation.

My husband’s workplace has a similar vibe right now: all the men are either elaborately rationalizing why their girlfriends and wives actually don’t like Valentine’s Day and would hate to get a present (because who likes getting gifts, romantic gestures, or good food, amiright?) or trying to cover their lazy asses with Hail Marys. It’s truly sad.

Meanwhile I have already been taken out to two movies this weekend (I am a cinephile), got a lovely and personally tailored present, a bouquet of two dozen roses, and my husband and I are headed out to a fancy dinner tonight. I can safely say I wouldn’t trade my experience for the apparently blissful freedom of…jack sh!t.

Also, this is a side note, but I get so annoyed at everyone who is all “Valentine’s Day is a fake holiday!” Like yes and? Were you aware that New Years could be any day of the year (or none) and time would still progress as normal? How about birthdays—is there a law of physics that dictates you get a cake every 365.25 rotations of this planet? ALL HOLIDAYS ARE “FAKE.” That doesn’t mean we can’t have fun :)

Living my best life ignoring “I miss you” texts from LVM, and looking forward to hosting friends for singles night.

What I can do without is the poor posts on the dating advice sub from women asking “is the bare minimum really enough?” And Reddit comments coming to the LVM’s rescue.

One poor girl made strawberry chocolates and baked goods. He got her store bough chocolate and a bottle of wine (could easily be a 10min grocery run for under $30). She was just disappointed that he didn’t get her flowers. Unsurprisingly comments make her out to be the problem.

Happy Valentine’s Day! It’s my first one solo in nearly a decade, and it’s already going better than all the others preceding it. I had a job interview earlier that would really level me up career-wise. I bought myself a lovely bouquet of maroon & pink orchids, and some high end chocolates. I have always had a high threshold for being alone and have always enjoyed my own company. But I feel like this lifestyle is finally starting to click and, at 30, I can confidently say that I love myself most days. Woohoo! 💅

I’m having a nice teatime of a fancy dessert I got for myself, and also telling myself the truth about how badly people have manipulated me in the past on this holiday. Not one said they didn’t “believe” in it, but all put in very little or absolutely no effort and then acted like I was out of my mind for being unhappy. Never again.

Someone wished me a happy valentines day and it took me a minute lol.

I lived in Japan way back a few decades back where i worked at a college. They had Valentines Day where women get gifts and White Day where men get gifts. White Day was bigger at least at that college. I thought it was weird the guys didn't bother and the women showered gifts on them. The US has caught up with them in that respect unfortunately.

I cherished three key people; I got my son a card and a chocolate rose and he was so excited to get his first valentine, I named a cricket after a friend’s horrible ex and sent the video of it being devoured to her this morning and I ordered myself some gorgeous earrings to go with the ring I bought myself last Valentine’s Day.

I went through a rough breakup 3 weeks ago and today has been...not great. Didn't have any closure even though I don't know that it would have helped. I've been following FDS for a few months now and have a lot to learn from you ladies.

Tonight I ordered a pizza and am watching AHS. I've got a couple of recommended books lined up for the rest of the week. I'm hopeful the next Valentine's day finds me stronger, happier, and at peace.

Funny. I posted somewhere else about a scrote coming up to my daughter and I to ask our opinion on floral arrangements. At first I thought he worked there but then I saw he was a customer and I almost laughed in his face but instead I said I wasn’t helping him in kind of a joking way but not.

I was not participating in low-effort, last minute thoughtless gift giving predicaments! The next couple scrotes I passed I loudly proclaimed the rubbishness of their failings, lol!

ETA: I complimented my cashier because she was a seriously gorgeous older lady and then she complimented me back and it was a nice exchange of positive female energy!

Tonight I noticed gym parking lots that were packed, and I’m like “Either there are a lot of single people or men have stooped so low as to take women to the gym for Valentine’s day, showing not just bare minimum effort but absolutely no effort.” Sadly I don’t know which is more likely, and it’s probably a combination.

I've noticed that plenty of flower shops in my area today are still well-stocked. However, in my timezone, it hasn't hit 5pm yet. I GUARANTEE that as soon as all these men get off of work, that's when they're going to do all their last-minute low-effort shopping. I had been talking to this guy at work (we’re not actually talking talking, we’re just friends), and as we were talking Valentine’s Day had come up as I had mentioned that a guy (customer) came up to me while I was working, asked me to his valentine with a bouquet of flowers (I thought it was funny but I wasn’t interested at all, and I was working, and sort of embarrassed as there were customers around). So I told my coworker about this customer that approached me, and do you know what this fool said ? He said he didn’t believe in Valentine’s Day. And bragged about how he never spent money on his ex , and said she didn’t believe in it anyways. She probably lied and told him that because she knew his cheap ass didn’t plan on getting her ISH ! I think he said this to me because he thought that I was gonna agree with him when I in fact made it VERY CLEAR, that i didn’t agree on that. This coworker has tried to flirt with me but I don’t escalate things and keep it platonic, as I don’t see him as a potential fit. Definitely not my type

My bff surprised me with flowers: a huge rainbow of roses. they’re big and gorgeous and I have them in a vase and I can’t stop looking at them… she picked them up early and got exactly the type she knew I’d love.
