30 years ago I was falsely accused. I got bailed out after 5 days (holiday weekend) and as soon as I was home she called to apologize. Luckily the answering machine answered before me and recorded the conversation. Her reasoning was that she was scared she would get pregnant and wanted the day after pill.

Submitted the tape to my attorney and it was dismissed in the next hearing. No punishment for her. Luckily, I was able to keep my job and all my friends had my back.

I feel for you. I had a family member go through the same thing but was railroaded by the justice system as is doing life in prison, where I have to take care of his kids. He had to use a public defender due to lack of funds. Make sure you have your friends and family for you in the court room. It makes a difference.

I was falsely accused when I was in 1st grade when a girl, whom I’d never seen before, accused me of lifting her skirt and pulling down her panties on the school playground. I was called into the principal’s office and confronted by the girl, her mother, and the principal. I returned to class where my teacher told me that she was ashamed of me which definitely changed my attitude towards school.

My mother saw that something was wrong when I came home. I was too embarrassed to tell her but eventually did. My parents brought me to school the next day and tore the principal a new one.

My wife is a therapist and had a girl as a client who had falsely accused her friend’s father of molesting her during a sleepover. The man was picked up by the police, his wife kicked him out of the house, he almost lost his job, his neighbors distanced themselves from him, and the story hit the news.

Under more questioning, the girl admitted that she lied because her parents were getting a divorce and she thought that this would bring them back together.

Needless to say, we never had sleepovers at our house. I didn’t even want to be around the kids when we had birthday parties for our twins.

I’ve often wondered about what happened to that falsely accused man and his marriage. I imagine it would be difficult maintaining a marriage with someone who was so ready to believe the worse about their spouse.

You should seriously consider this if the case goes in your favor. It won't turn back time or take back all the difficulty of this nor would you likely get the total amount of money you already lost back, but you could get enough money in damages and lawyer fees for it to have been worth it. This is a case where the medium is the message. I used to think some women would use the false allegation to send a message to the man that wronged them. That sending them to prison was a torture they wanted to inflict on the man. Now I realize that the message of sending the man to prison is actually irrelevant. The false allegation itself is the message, and the means by which torture is inflicted on their victim, before any verdict is reached. In this case 2.5 years of torture, putting his life at stake while she goes out for a latte.

The false allegation isn’t an attempt to torture someone with prison, it is itself the torture, carried out by our own justice system. Individuals should not be allowed to make accusations publicly at all. Whenever there is an investigation, the statement is that they cannot comment during an active investigation. The victim should provide their evidence to the police and they should be making the arrest and charges. Anything else is just mob justice and witch hunts.

Also, I would like the justice system to recognize that the crime of rape is not like murder, or arson, or theft, where their is unambiguous evidence that the crime was committed. That means we have rapists in prison that did not know, and couldn’t have known, that they were committing a crime at the time. In this case, he didn’t even know a crime was committed until 5 days after the fact when a warrant was issued for his arrest. Yes, there are unambiguous cases, but we can’t treat all cases as if they are.

How is it that an innocent man with no criminal record can be arrested for rape, a conscious criminal act? That after a life of abiding by the law, this guy would say, “Fuck it, I’m feeling horny.” They wouldn’t assume he could rob a store just because he was checking out the merchandise. But for the crime of rape, the justice system and most of society views men as a walking penis, incapable of reasonable thought.

Rape has to be objectively differentiated from consensual sex in order to be considered a crime. We have all these men talking about recording themselves having sex (itself which may be a crime) so they can prove their innocence, but no one has mentioned once that the woman could just as easily record the encounter to protect herself and prove him guilty. The burden of proof is supposed to be on the accuser, after all, not the defendant. Simply an audio of her saying no and him continuing would be enough. But an entire video of the act would not prove his innocence if she claims it was rape.

I am from Eastern Europe, and during 1950', all it was needed was a single accusation, an echo from any unremarkable apparatchik, either due to being jealous, or looking for a promotion by pointing at anyone who could be marked as "saboteur" or "enemy of the people". And the accused person, especially if was not a party member (it was very recommended to be at least a basic member) had it exactly the same: immediately lost a job, carried a record, everything become public, so person become unemployable, lost all friends, kids lost ability to attempt to colleague, and of course, if it turned out that accused person had someone in family who used to own a land, business or a farm (aka "the exploiter"), any defence was hopeless, and the sentences were often very long, either jail but most often it was labour camp. We had hundreds if not thousands of falsely accused people during that time. Lot of them died in the camps.

And why I am mentioning this? Because it is back, under the similar disguise of "progress". It's simple. You as a man are the exploiter, always will be. Whatever are the accusations true or not, you are to blame. Being a healthy male basically disqualifies you to be a "party member". The woman and minorities are the new proletariat. They are being manipulated to hate, and blame the exploiter by the media propaganda, and to take any advance the system will offer against the man. And for those cases, your justice system just become pure stalinist hell hole. Neomarxism is not just an alt right buzzword, its real. But westerners never experienced raw unmasked communist regime, and especially the propaganda machinery. You have absolutely no idea how tricky it can be and how well meant it often sounds. Feminists and "believe-all-women" activists like to pretend false rape accusations are extremely rare. Regardless of the validity of that statement, rare or not, when a man is falsely accused of rape, he is 100% destroyed, with the instant consequence that his life will never be the same again.

For an extremely rare occurrence, it seems I have seen it occur far too often. What I have also seen are accusations that were not provably false, but that were launched on social media or legacy media, never resulted in any arrest or trial, but STILL destroyed the accused man's entire life.

Us men need to understand that whenever we make sexual approaches or venture into the dating world, we are now walking on razor blades. We don't even need to do anything incorrect: we may simply stumble upon some mentally unstable woman who, for a variety of reasons, may pretend we sexually assaulted her.

Activists and ideologues have spent the last decade glorifying accusers, calling them "incredibly courageous women" or the like. The negative side-effect of that glorification is that false accusers only foresee possible rewards to their actions, and a complete absence of negative consequences. In some instance of uber-insane feminism, launching rape accusations on a man, even if false, might be seen as a badge of honor in the fight against "rape culture". This is, of course, very sick and morally repugnant.

We need to be extremely careful. If we are to meet with random strangers fished out of Tinder and the like, we must do diligent vetting before ANY meeting in a private setting occurs.

Know and spot the red flags: Does she live alone with 8 cats? Does she aggressively state her invented pronouns? Does she tell you her past rape stories before you even know her last name? Does she post on "rape culture" on her social media accounts? Does she give off BPD vibes?

OP, we stand behind you in thoughts and prayers. Be strong and always remember you are one of many casualties of the current stream of insanity.

Truth shall set you free! Yeah, if it's a pack 'o lies, almost certainly there won't be sufficient evidence to convict, and there won't be conviction.

And, of course, lawyer, blah, blah ... might also then, following that, be well worth it to go after accuser for libel, slander, etc. But if they ain't got resources to take from 'em, might not be worth pursuing ... or maybe only partly so, to get 'em to stop the problematic behavior. Anyway, that would be the lower burden of proof. As for her being prosecuted and convicted criminally (filing false police report, perjury, etc.), not your call to make, and higher burden of proof ... but hey, trial coming up! :-) Accuser may provide lots of evidence to go towards winning against her on libel/slander and/or law enforcement / DA going after her on criminal charge(s). Also, lawyer + PI might also dig/turn up if she's got a history of doing these types of things ... and being shown/proven as false accusations, etc.

Women ought be heard ... and believed. But those that make false accusations to a horrible disservice - or worse - to all involved ... everyone they falsely accuse, and all the additional questioning and doubt thrown upon women who are speaking the truth. So, yeah, those making false accusations are despicable ... and they ought face the appropriate consequences for their actions.

There are also some that mistakenly misidentify accuser in their accusations ... that's a whole 'nother mess/topic - but at least in those cases accuser isn't intentionally making false statements/reports.

I had a family member get accused of a similar (but different) thing.

Went to court, and the judge (who was a female, if it's even relevant) said "If a woman had been accused of this, no one would've bat an eye", or something to that affect.

The case was thrown out by this judge due to a lack of evidence. She also put a 'gag-order' of sorts over the court filings and happenings in the court room, to protect my family member's identity and prevent the media getting their grubby hands on the story. The 'detective' who pushed for the charges was investigated for wrongful arrest, and a few months later she was 'fired' (only later to learn she was demoted and shuffled to a different position).

My family member was a government employee - he lost his job because of this. The state government who employed him offered to give him his job back as a 'settlement' - he refused and received a modest pay-out.

People still think he's guilty, however. But we're lucky - being from a small town, gossip is toxic, but most people see what happened as egregious and support him.

The individuals who pushed for these charges, and even told unfounded accounts to the police, however, got off scot-free. Weird laws in Australia that make it difficult-to-downright impossible to investigate false accusers - something about 'encouraging victims to come forward'. It's disgusting.

Dude, you either have useless lawyers, or you’re not telling us something. First, SHE coerced you into doing things you don’t like, so keep asking those questions to make her repeat over and over how you both decided to have sex and the rough parts. She will change something or let slip something. And the minute she changes a detail, work on it. If it she actually admits she pushed you to do things you didn’t want to, lay SA charges against her. But she must be asked over and over.

Second, she let you drive her home. Did you hide her phone? Why would she not call a friend to immediately fetch her? She stayed to the next morning AND was somehow ok for her rapist to drive her home and know where she lived. That alone, makes her case weak AF. And any semi decent lawyer would crack her. This should never have gone to trial, but it should be thrown out for lack of evidence. And when it does, think about nailing the PD. So many cars, to arrest, not even just question, a man with zero history of crime and a respectable member of his community? Their actions were extreme and unnecessary.
