In the example you gave, Conor McGregor is successful and his fiance is loyal. They're still together. They're still planning on getting married. Her loyalty has been rewarded with continued access to his success.

Also they met in 2008 when McGregor was starting his pro UFC career. She did wait at the end of the finish line, at least compared to herself. She didn't have anything going on.

There's no way she could land him at this point in his career. She was smart and she's been rewarded.

They are not and have not been married. Moreover, in 2008, when relationship started, the Conor McGregor had the physique of MMA fighter. I think he would have no shortage of women for sex. And you really had to choose a man who has several charges of sexual assault, fights, robbery and repeated arrests as an example? What would you expect from a man like that? He is a great fighter, but a problematic character, a bad boy. Attractive to many women for sex, great for show, but not the ideal man for marriage.

Men absolutely reward loyalty. You see all these billionaires with average wives, what do most of them have in common? They got with the guy early and supported him before he became a billionaire. And that's how they ended up with a billionaire. Now whether some of the billionaires cheat on the side I don't know, I am not keeping 24/7 watch on them, but from what I see, they haven't left their wives.

However, if those women waited until the guy became a billionaire, then it's way way less likely they'd end up with one. No matter how socially awkward/weird and ugly he is, once he gets to that level of status, he gains access to certain circles that are frequented with models, and quite a decent amount of them are looking for a billionaire. At that point, you have to be a model to compete. Average chick will be completely invisible to him.

Loyalty is one of those things that are appreciated but they don't increase sexual attraction, I think this is true for both men and women.

But it's not true to say that it's not rewarded, the reward is the strengthening of the emotional and romantic connection. However don't expect your partner to never lose attraction just because you were there for them, attraction is irrational and amoral, it doesn't care.

both husbands and wives might find another person more attractive and they might cheat or break up, this could happen regardless of the emotional connection. If you want to be loyal just do it because you feel it's right, not because you expect a reward.

There is no reward for loyalty. Loyalty is not only the minimum, it goes both ways. Nobody is rewarded anything but a healthy relationship for it. Stop expecting the world for doing the bare minimum. Not only that, are you good enough for a man at the finish line? If so, do that. Problem solved.
