She MIGHT root for you after you pass all of her tests. But that is not even guaranteed, and can change on a dime. She might already be “rooting” for someone else or might change her team when she realizes another man is winning more. She MIGHT root for you for a period of time. But it will likely be conditional.

Men, you almost always have to lead the way. OP said it: you have to be “confident, charming, fun, interesting… non-needy, vulnerable, able to express himself”, [able to approach, able to hold conversation, able to dress well, able to make her laugh, able to make her feel alive, able to give her that feeling], etc. etc.

I believe in optimism. But I don’t believe in delusion. Women want you to be what they want you to be, but they will not encourage or enable you to be that out of the goodness of their heart. Rooting for someone means that *they support you no matter where you are in your journey *. Women are human like the rest of us: they are looking out for #1. They want to find purpose in life by finding someone to share and build it with. But they are not heroes, they are not altruistic, they are definitely not cheerleaders for all men.

Some men need the OP’s pep talk to get them motivated to start leading the way, but let’s skip the BS.

Men, if you haven’t started already, it’s time for you to go on your journey. Learn to be ALL of what women want you to be, for the sake of being a better you. But NOT for women. Your journey is for you.

Although I understand it, don't you think these expectations are too much? I myself as person don't know how to make perfect first interaction with someone you are attracted to and are shit scared of approaching? As they get older they accept anything because I guess they learn over period of time that men are not some king of perfection that they expect they as broken, hurt trying to recover and all time in process to make themselves better. At least they get opportunities and options to chose from. Men don't get that much, I mean most men. Its hard to improve and slow if you get far less opportunities to expose yourself understand what's going wrong and chances to improve it. If women are rooting for us, then why do they make it as difficult as possible for us? Even when they do like us?

Now I get that you should take a certain amount of apathy/lack of engagement as disinterest but even when I've had women like me romantically/sexually, they never show any of the signs, never flirt, never reciprocate flirting, never drop hints of any kind.

I know it's my job to lead and I'm fine with that but leading a brick wall (an interested brick wall but still a brick wall) is super frustrating!

The reason it can feel like she's judging down from a mountain top is exactly because all or most of the things in this post are true, but that the woman will make no effort to impress or get to know a new man until a degree of utility is proven from the man through these sorts of actions. Like, how am I supposed to fall in love with, or even want to be friends with, someone who will always expect more from me than themselves? That's the type of friend people write movies about making fun of, because literally no one wants to be involved with that person. The reason I complain about that common dating dynamic is in hopes that culture will change and women will become more interested in legit human interaction, because I don't want to impress such a creature, and would find such a relationship worse than being single. I don't even see it being beneficial for the woman, because it seems like it would turn off men who are serious because what does she even offer besides looks, while the ones who would show the most effort would be the ones with short term intentions.

Two things that stuck out from this post; 1) be a man and 2) move things forward

Often times, I underestimate what it means to ‘be a man, ie on your purpose, purpose on your grind, driven, etc but often times forget to have fun within conversations ie progressively moving things forward and not taking myself or other ppl ‘seriously’.

I’ve noticed that the more I ‘expect less’ but have hopes, things will happen. Or should I say, focusing on having a good time with myself will correlate of others enjoying that time. Whether that’s at work, with the boys, or with a girl, it doesn’t matter.

Everything you mentioned clicked. The more the girl likes you, the more she’ll make it easier for you. Just know that when a girl accepts or tests your advances, it’s just your turn.
