No. Childless people often have to pick up the slack for childed people (like if someone has to leave work early cuz a kid got sick at school) but this has nothing to do with their marital status. Certainly has nothing to do with their virginity status. You really shouldn’t be talking about virginity at work

Single and/or childless women are more trusted for corporate duties than married women with children.

On the flip side, married men are more trusted with those duties than unmarried or single men on average.

I think married men get more promotions and earn more than their single counterparts. I would guess this is due to desperation. Those men are more motivated for a promotion to provide for their family, while single men are content.

No. My best friend is a single virgin woman and she is loved at work (we work at the same company).

No one cares in 2024 if a woman is in a relationship or not. It's no longer a necessity like it was in say 1950 and marriage has been so denigrated no one considers just being married a flex.

I remember that 10-15 years ago in my country married young women were discriminated badly, to the point of being explicitly informed at interview that she will get pregnant soon and company will lose 'investment' in her. Nowadays no one cares - there is plenty of work to do so every person with functional brain and willing to work is welcome. However a friend of mine has been fired after having 1st child(15 years of loyal work at one company - never refused overtime), but this company is french so it's pretty normal.

Don't think virginity has ever been a topic of conversation with my colleagues. We'd talk about relationships and stuff, people would share where they went on vacation with their partners and stuff like that, I've met some of them if we went out for drinks on the weekend or something but who has or hasn't banged never came up as something to talk about. And nobody treated our single coworkers any different.

No, I've never seen this happen in any space. I have however seen men be shamed for being virgins and I've been on the receiving end of it. But this was in college not work. The more 'manly' girls aren't treated as delicately but that's about it.

Generally non promiscuous woman are celebrated, whereas men that can't get any are seen as worthless.

However, I have observed girls in work slut shaming.

But not generally. “Back in the day” there used to be a few “old fashioned” bosses that would hesitate to promote single or newly wed women because of concern they would take time off or leave due to children and leave a skills gap that is difficult to fill.

Where I’ve worked, young single women get a lot of attention and are put up on pedestals. They are groomed to climb the ladder to help achieve DEI goals.

Young men are assumed to have nothing to do outside of work and are expected to work terrible hours.

I’m glad I’m older and mostly not impacted by all that.

That has nothing to do with it. On the other hand being an attractive girl certainly opens many doors. I have known truly attractive incompetent women that got promoted an better jobs left and right. Everything they do gets put trough a positivity filter and people wanting to favour them. Tomorrow I need to train some hot girl that was supposed to be fired from another department but got promoted to ours cause the manager saw valuable skills! Dude couldnt admit it was the big ass and blonde hair I gueaa. Im sure if she was ugly people would be more annoyed. But even me knowing how all this works cares less cause she is hot. Thats just nature.

I don’t think is something people would know, unless you tell them? People cannot be discriminated against based on whether they are single or virgin, especially in the workplace where there are laws protecting and preventing discrimination. I do think there might be bias or sometimes where you might feel excluded in conversations if the rest is married for example, but it’s not that deep.

Nobody at my work place knows how many men I have dated or my virginity status except for a couple coworkers who I consider as friends and even they don’t know details about my love or sex life or virginity status. Going into detail about these things at work can get you into huge trouble. It’s one thing to talk a little bit about personal life, but going into too much detail is a no no.

We are asked constantly to stay late or take on the workload of a parent that need to do something for their kid (sick day, sports event etc.) as well as work extra days or holidays or give up a pre approved vacation time because magically a parent need off or someone has to do something for their spouse or because we are viewed as less valuable and meaningful to society and our family because we aren’t married with kids. So single and childless definitely comes with certain drawbacks at work. Another good example is when parents or someone married get a promotion over you because they supposedly need the money more than you do.

men hitting on you at work functions even married ones because they assume you're desperate to fvck.

lots of Lesbianism Discrimination. people assume if you're over 30 and single and never married there is something wrong with you or you are into Lesbianism. there isn't equality for the gayes yet, they still get side eyed except for pride month, so everyone gives you side eye and makes comments that "it's ok to be gay" even if you're just not married.

in professional circles you really have to be married with kids to be seen as a balanced normal persob

dating wise, people prefer to date divorced folk than never married because the divorced one is a tried and tested item
