I think you'll find "most people" here are neither pro life nor pro choice. That's because unlike feminism, which is firmly embedded within the left, men's rights is more a coalition of various causes and doesn't impose a specific political ideology.

I would assume this sub has a gentle bias in favor of pro life. I'm pro choice myself.

Personally, I'm pro "you gals have like 19 different birth control options, most of which you can use unilaterally and without the guy even having any ways of knowing about them unless you straight up tell him. With that amount of options, unplanned and/or unwanted pregnancies shouldn't exist outside of highly unusual circumstances, and if you got rid of both unplanned and unwanted pregnancies, there wouldn't even be an abortion debate in the first place! What more do you fucking need?". I dunno if there's a word for that tho.

I'm also pro "Get vasalgel on the market already! Also, wasn't there some promising nasal spray that sabotaged the little tail of sperm making any guy shooting blank afterwards? What happened to that?".

I think my position could be summed as "an ounce of contraception beats out a pound of abortion, no contest!".

Personally, I’m pro-life. There are so many preventative measures that can be taken beforehand. 1- getting tubes tied, 2- birth control pills, 3- spermicide, 4- condoms, 5- morning after pill…. The list goes on. I’m sure there’s more. None of these alone are 100% guarantee. But, if multiple steps are taken by someone who knows they don’t want to procreate, I don’t feel like there should be a need for such extreme choices. I also think that the fathers shouldn’t be excluded in the pregnancy, since the child is half of them too.

Pro-Choice as it stands currently is pro-female and anti-male.

Women have the right to unilaterally decide whether to keep the baby or not, and if they keep the baby they can make the man pay child support.

Men not having the right to choose whether the baby lives or dies and have no choice as to whether or not to pay child support.

If paternity tests were routine and mandatory to establish who the father is. If men had equal rights when it came to pay and custody of the child. If there was male birth control pill w/o harmful side effects. Then you may have more of an argument that Pro-Choice is fair and lives up to its name, but right now, Pro-Choice should be called Female-Choice Males-Obey.

"pro-choice" of what? Choosing between killing or not killing? I am in favor of innocent people living, but sometimes for that to happen, someone who threatens innocent lives must be killed, such as a criminal armed and holding hostages or someone trying to murder an innocent baby.

I am firmly pro-life but I also believe in having multiple choices.

The choice to choose to have sex with somebody.

The choice to use a condom or have the partner use a condom and if they don't then choosing not to sleep with them if we don't want the risks.

The choice to finish inside her. (obviously this one can be touchy as the man can finish inside her without her wanting that. But that risk can be reduced or even done away with by wearing a condom.

The choice to be on birth control (although I wouldn't advice birth control as it's tied to so many hormonal and other physical issues)

The choice to use a morning after pill

Multiple choices have been chosen long before conception, if I hear shit like "well he's a bum" blah blah blah, well go back to choice number one, unless you are a victim of rape or incest, you concentually chose who you slept with, if he's a bum, then thats your problem since you CHOSE to sleep with him, and you both CHOSE not to use condoms

This question is too black and white. There's too much gray. I think I have a nuanced view in this. I'm ultimately pro choice. Because at the end of the day I believe my body my choice in all facets of life, not just when it comes to killing a baby. That's also something I believe... That despite supporting your right to choose I also believe you're killing a human and everything that goes along with it.

The attempts at rationalization is disgusting. There's no reason I've heard for justification of termination that we wouldn't be appalled by if the human was a 5 year old child.

So yea... I support your right to choose just not your rationalizations that make you feel you're not killing a human

In the case of true r@pe, if anyone should be killed, it’s the r@pist, not the innocent child. In the case of incest, same thing. “The health of the mother” sounds reasonable until you realize that they include “mental health.” If having the baby will make her sad, that counts.

It’s rightfully illegal for a man to kill an unborn baby, whether it be by sneaking an abortifacient into a pregnant woman’s food or drink or hitting her in the stomach. Abortion legalization grants women the unique and exclusive right to murder their child. It’s pure gynocracy.

They make every excuse in the book to support a woman’s right to avoid parenthood despite the vast array of birth control options they chose to be irresponsible with or just not take, but the moment a man wants to avoid parenthood he’s told “too bad, you should have worn a condom or got a vasectomy!” or “you accepted this risk when you came inside her!” Shit sounds like what protestors say to women outside of abortion clinics.

While I do think it's wrong to get an abortion, I'm pro-choice.

A lot of people don't quite understand how crazy outnumbered children seeking adoption are for eligible families seeking adoption. Banning abortion just ups the competition. The US already adopts more children than anywhere in the world and it's still insane. The system is flawed and repair is IMPOSSIBLE.

People use the argument that "people shouldn't be having sex". The US birthrate is already low, and almost beyond repair itself. That's an even bigger monster. Ever with that there are still children that outnumber eligible families.

Lastly, my family has been adopting and fostering children for generations. There's nothing that will bring you more perspective than seeing a child that wasn't loved.

Abortion is wrong! I truly believe that. I still think it should be an option.

And if you're reading this, PLEASE use protection and don't make people anyone until you're married.

Used to be pro choice until i saw a testimony from a doctor which does these procedures.

He described in detail how the kid skull is crushed, how the whole body is retrieved piece by piece, and assembled nearby to make sure they got out everything. Imagine getting half leg here, right hand there, torso there, this piece of the skull here.

Its inimaginable to do something like this to a human. And its done 72 mil times per year.

People should use contraception, and only in extreme cases, like genetic disorders, sexual assault abortion should be allowed.

Even framing it as pro choice is missleading, its like an easy simple thing. No its not, its killing another and inocent human. The guys writting the bible never imagined something like this could ever happen as otherwise it would have been probably a bigger sin than crime, which not always involves inocent people

pro-equality. Mom's don't have to be moms if they don't want to, dads don't have to be dads if they don't want to. Men can opt completely (financially too) from the life of a child, and a woman can completely bow out of any responsibility raising a child. Paternity tests are an absolute must-occur, and abortion is only available in medically necessitated situations.

If someone is thinking about ending the life of their future kid, we should let them. We don't want people like that to be parents. Abortions should be a bad thing socially speaking. It's a shameful thing to do. It means you were incredibly irresponsible.

BUT legally speaking, banning abortion just creates more unloved, unwanted children who are likely to become criminals or have mental health issues and contribute to more issues in society because their parents should never have been parents.

It's not a woman's body. It's IN a woman's body. It is killing a life as well. But it is a lesser evil than another unloved soul.

I’m pro choice. I don’t think a woman should become a mother if she doesn’t want a kid.

The mother and father are responsible for the choices they make and there’s always a risk, but forcing them to have a kid is not going to make them good parents. Most people want kids anyways, so getting pregnant right after high school can have a huge impact on their lives and the kids life, that could be drastically different if they were to have waited.

I personally think terminating the pregnancy at the soonest they can, or with a plan b, has the same outcome as if the couple never had sex. If she wasn’t replacing eggs every month and he wasn’t jerking off like if everyone had the same eggs/sperm until they used it, that would be different, but it’s not like that and the potential baby is like the millions of others that don’t make it.

Our tax dollars (in the US) are paying to kill children so it’s kind of like… can you be against removal of a goo blob that would have been flushed anyways, but be fine with dropping 2,000 lbs bombs and shooting missiles at actual conscious born alive babies?

Idk at a certain point there is a baby with a brain and thoughts and stuff so it’s kind of hard to just dismiss that.. I think even abortion within a certain time frame would be more understandable. It’s not like they’re aborting someone else’s pro life baby lol

I'm neither pro-life or pro-choice. Life isn't black or white, neither is this issue.

I believe:

Anything prior to the Zink Spark is just a bunch of cells. Therefore, any action prior to that moment is totally up to the control of the host (i.e. the woman).

After the Zink Spark the rights of the fetus should override the rights of the host unless the life of the host is in danger (if the host dies so does the fetus). Sorry, rp doesn't fall into the category because the fetus' rights exist irrespective of the method and circumstances of conception. Incest is different because it can lead to abnormalities; though this is something I struggle with.

After the birth either parent should be able to abdicate responsibility of the child.

Edit: forgot to add that IMO Plan B should be available for free to all citizens. I'm usually not one for free government stuff since it's not really free, but I think this would negate many pro-choice arguments.

Both sides of the abortion debate are utter hypocrites. One side goes "muh body, muh choice" and completely ignores the fact that men don't have the right to choose what happens to their own bodies at birth. The other side goes "muh sanctity of life, muh babies feel pain" and completely ignores the pain that baby boys feel when the sanctity of their lives is violated. If neither side was hypocritical, I would be moderately pro-life because hurting babies is wrong (with exceptions for rape, incest, and the mother's health), but I refuse to choose a side in this debate until one or both sides stop being hypocritical.

My opinion is I have no opinion. I'm a man. I don't have a womb. I have no way of experiencing pregnancy or childbirth. I don't know much about the medical complications. I think it is both tragic and stupid to try and force women to give birth to rape babies. I think it is completely irresponsible to have an opinion or a say in it.

I think nearly everyone here is both. We're pro-life by dint of simple self-interest (since we're, y'know, alive), and pro-choice by dint of wanting personal agency and autonomy.

If you're asking about abortion, that's an entirely different matter; we're a LOT more divided there. But if you can't say what you really mean, what does that say about you? And given that this isn't just you, one person, with an unwillingness to confront a divisive issue honestly, but an entire political culture hiding the truth behind euphemisms, what does it say about that culture?
