Are men as bad as the ones you get to know online?

Some are, some aren’t. Some occupations tend to attract dreadful people, so a woman working in civil engineering will deal with a different variety of dickhead to a woman working in telesales, and both will encounter more sexist fuckwits than a woman working in social care or NFPs.

The weirdos exist and are in friend groups with other weirdo guys, and on occasion weirdo women (who are treated like one of the dudes).

I’ve liked an almost concerning number of 4chan memer types when I was young, including one self-identified incel, and they did not “fake” being pleasant. They were just weird and unapologetically so, and in the incel’s case it was bad enough that I stopped liking him.

All in all, most men are fine. Especially at the age I’m at now (late 20s). They’re just normal dudes.

Absolutely.

It would be fantastic if women could see all online presence, social media content, history etc to see who a man is because it would tell a lot about a person.

Gaslighting and love bombing are real and abundant. Men pretend to be people they arent to try to get women into relationships with them all the time.

Abusive men and men that lie are abundant. They know they couldn't get with a woman without lying so they performatively pretend to be a better person than they are. This is by far the majority of men in my experience/friends experience.

Theres wonderful men out there, but they are vastly outnumbered by men who have to hide their true self because you'd never entertain them otherwise.

I think lots of men agreeing with “weirdos on the internet” to some extent. To some extent meaning they can agree fully too. I see some signs but like hell they will tell me the truth to my face. Which means the only option i have is to observe, and my answer is that some men are better than the other, but lots of them share hate towards women.

Last time I was single, I'd say it was 50/50. Men will do or say anything to get laid. This is why I won't fuck in a relationship until I'm convinced he's sincere about it.

I've definitely had people pretend to be something they are not or try to hide resentment. If I knew someone's weirdo like believing in manosphere things or MAGA, that would just be a dealbreaker.

The men online are definitely worse because they don't fear the repercussions for what they say online. But I have met more than enough creeps in real life that I am always on guard around one.
